Louisiana and USC had never met before Sept. 12, 2026, so the Trojans' 49-30 win at the Coliseum opens the all-time series at 1-0. That holds under every name the Lafayette program has carried, including Southwestern Louisiana and Louisiana-Lafayette.

It was USC's third meeting with a Sun Belt opponent and its third win, the previous one against Georgia Southern at the Coliseum on Sept. 6, 2025. The Trojans' other games against Louisiana-based programs have come against LSU and Louisiana Tech, which are separate series entirely.
