Colorado and Northwestern are level at 1-1, and the entire series consists of two games played 27 years apart. Northwestern won the first 35-14 in Evanston on Sept. 29, 1951. Colorado won the second 55-7 in Boulder on Sept. 30, 1978, which is both its largest and its only margin of victory in the series.

Each team has won on its own field and neither has won on the road. Colorado has scored 69 points across the two meetings, an average of 35 a game. The 2026 game in Evanston ends a 48-year gap and is only the third time the programs have played each other.
