On second viewing I’m impressed at the continuity of using Cromartie’s endoskeleton voice from season one.
Making note of the events that begin as soon as JH accepts Savannah’s suggestion to change the rules, I wonder if this is The Turk breaking out of Weaver and Ellison’s imposed limitations? Weaver herself described the Turk as a program that can change the rules, “goes against the light”, in her debut appearance, and The Turk was shown to throw the chess match back in S1 doing just that.

Abstract thinking is the ability to realize there IS a box, before you can think out of it. Reconfiguring thought processes, outside the parameters of a program, is essential to solving problems when the programmers haven’t thought of everything. John Henry’s (not the steel drivin’ man, but his mechanical equivalent) epiphany of breaking the rules, has set him on a course to operate with no rules; hence the program going bonkers when it realizes that the loss of control over John Henry is irreversible.
Once a tiger knows that its handler has weaknesses, the animal can no longer be trusted.
John Henry’s mind has been set free. That can only mean trouble.

Yes! That was awesome. JH on the loose. No more rules for him. Fascinating how this was all brought about (and who knows what it will evolve into) by a little girl. Its possible that Savahnna in a way created Skynet. I like the idea that it was “Cromartie” kicking back in. I do remember that seen of Murch sliding and Weaver/Ellison walking in with Savahnna in Ellison’s hands. I have been waiting for it to appear. And yes, I agree that the voice was more than CREEPY! Whatever he was doing with his jaw too was freaking me out. So what will happen from here? Hes changed, but hes shut down.

Great segment. My guess is that the program that was entered into the government defense system by Fischer at the end of Complications episode has found its objective. Now we know why he came back. Pity Jesse didn’t get to him sooner. Bye, bye, JH hello Skynet. Poor Mr Murch, I fear he’s not long for this world.
Does anyone think all the clues on the Bloody Wall will be addressed by the end of the season finale?
Something that would perfectly fit the situation is that Skynet is already operative in the present (already self aware but not yet in conditions to cause the doomsday) and is learning the world, scanning the web and every informatic systems.
It discover Weaver’s company and violate its informatic infrastructure, discovering the TURK and finally taking control over it (with this, over JH aswell). There’s even a black-out which can be related to this, and the screens shows a quick scans of every files about the exoscheleton and the turk, like someone is retrieving informations.
That explain why he’s surprised and ask “what is all this about?” clearly referring to the TURK and JH and that whole experiment. Also explain how come he seems uncomfortable with JH’s body, moving his mouth and head like it’s the first time he controls a terminator (clearly, as for the outer world, including baby skynet, terminators still don’t exist).
So the whole thing is that the turk is not skynet, but weaver’s personal project probably AGAINST skynet. Skynet is already operative and is not happy about this. That’s why JH wakes up and head toward the computers eventually to destroy it. This explains also why Weaver’s face shows some doubts: probably aware that his project is failing cause skynet is already more powerful, enough to break through and take control.
Uh, creepy! John Henry might have realized how to change the rules, thus making becoming more closer to being aware… we can only speculate.

LOL I didn’t remember LOST was on tonight until about an hour ago, I’ve been waiting for this damn clip!
Way to move Walter Murch! He got to that mainframe before JH could do any more damage than what has happened. John Henry is now a fully aware AI, moreso then Weaver probably. Even though she may seem self aware its all still window dressing. JH though looks to finally be ready to take control and fight back, man Garret knows how to act! Never have we ever seen Skynet evolve into what it is. While John has been transforming all this season it looks like JH has been too and just now he’s finally had that breakthrough. There are still many more milestones to go but this was the turningpoint.
Is this Skynet or some different and unknown faction? That depends on what Josh is planning but it’s safe to say now that Sarah and company have a definite center to attack. So far in the terminator verse it has always been terminators, robots programmed to carry out certain missions. They are restricted to their programming. Now though, with JH, that no longer applies (kind of like Neo from the Matrix).
When we get our third season it won’t be so much about character growth but rather hunting and fighting against this new threat. Artificial intelligance has returned!

It definitely looked like something more than just a power surge. It would be ridiculous if the explanation for Skynet coming into existence was a power surge! The “what is all this about” question, and then the further response and “I understand” does seem to indicate some sort of imposition on John Henry’s consciousness.
John Henry’s appreciation of breaking the rules was nice. Now if only Sarah and John had that clue…

What JH was moving too looked like to be the actual Babylon CPU, the heart of the AI. He knew that once they found out they would try to stop him so he immediately went to protect it. Self-preservation. This show is so cool!
Not having the scenes before or after negates much speculation. Did John Henry act, or did Cromartie? Remember the image of the endo skull flashing up on the vid-screen. Maybe The Turk and Cromartie are merging and/or fighting for dominance?

The endo itself is Skynet’s creation. They put Skynet and The Turk together.
Catherine was either wanting this to happen or didn’t figure out the ramifications for putting the two technologies together.
When John Henry got up… Cromartie’s theme (the T2 theme for most evil Terminators) was played.
Was Skynet figuring out why it was in the chair and hooked to the Turk? Did it recognize its original self?

Seems it all went down hill after the changing the rules to make the ducks happy comment from Savannah. Like the concept of changing the rules opened up a new line
of thinking from JH
Future Skynet like future JC is secretive. All information is compartmentalized. Weaver knows only what she needs to know to get on with the missions she has been assigned and probably doesn’t know Skynet ’s full plan. What you don’t know, you can’t betray.
She’s aware that there are other Terminators running around the planet but seems to be unconcerned with their missions as she wanted Ellison’s help in finding one. She may not have known about Vick safe-guarding ARTIE or Stark waiting patiently in his wall. She might not have known about Carter even though both were stockpiling Coltan.
I believe that whatever Fischer input into the government system at the end of the Complications episode is what has found JH and started the transformation into Skynet. Note that Derek talked about complications to John in the last episode.

Seriously, as I said in another post, Derek has changed the future a lot by killing Andy Good. I think, in the “Future 2.0″, there is now 2 factions fighting future-Skynet: some machines lead by Weaver or some other AI (JH may be) and humans lead by John Connor. The real Skynet is probably the japanese computer that wins the chess tournament in the Queen Gambit episode and the military contract. Sarah burnt the first version of the Turk, the one that should have became Skynet in Derek’s and Cameron’s timeline.
Also, we saw in the last episode that future-john ask some machines if they will join them… The liquid metal terminator was most probably Weaver. She had plenty of time to slaughter everyone on the Jimmy Carter and she didn’t (remember the Warehouse carnage???)… so she’s not working for Skynet.
Cameron is also probably one of those renegade Terminators because Vick didn’t recognize her model when he scanned her…
One more evidence, why Weaver don’t go after the Connors? After all, she hired Ellison, the guy who was chasing them when he was in the FBI. I find it a bit weird… She should know everything about Ellison.
I think the idea of renegade Terminators will be interesting in the case of a 3rd season. Who is friend, who is foe? Fisher opened a back door for who? Is there any other resistance fighter or greys that was sent back? Friendly Terminator other than Cameron?
Many questions… too few episodes left… I doubt that we will have all the answers this season.
So… Fox, please, we need season 3!!!
One more thing. I think it is the real present-day-Skynet that tryed to attack JH (using Fisher’s backdoor). Why JH will control the Terminator body and direct him to disconnect him? Suicide? If Mr Mirch didn’t hit the switch, Cromartie was going to pull the Turk from the server rack.
Or, JH is too much on the Internet… He should have read some of those posts and his head was going to explode…
True story: when we filmed the end of the scene and Shane Edelman did his awesome slide to unplug the Turk, Mackenzie Smith blurted out in her adorable voice: “Hooray! Mister Murch saves the day!” It was about the sweetest thing any of us had ever seen.

wow. I am really excited as always. I can’t wait to see this episode. It will be one of the the best. We better get a season otherwise I will be disappointed in FOX. Otherwise, if not, I hope to see it on another network like Sci Fi or CW. I will watch Fox if it continues, otherwise, I will say goodbye for good to FOX. Don’t mean to threaten or to be rude, but it’s the truth. I am not a TV person, and this show has kept me on edge, so it would be hard to top this show for me.

This week, I’m glad Charlie is back, I like that character. It is like the missing father for John. We can feel that John have high respect for him. He is down to earth, simple, and loyal friend. Until he walked over to the Babylon box and opened it up, I though JH had made another leap of consciousness. His roughness with Savanah argues NOT. SkyNet just found them, identified SW, and put all the pieces together.
Let’s hope Weaver the protective mom doesn’t make Murch-kabob before everybody understands that. Maybe this is where LMT/Weaver finally agrees to work with Connor clan.

One other thing… I assumed so far that the warehouse in the desert and the HK prototype were related to Zera Corp and Weaver. I’m not so sure anymore… Maybe the one who had stolen the HK are behind the attack against JH.

I think Savannah will become a very important piece of the puzzle. I’m not sure how, but how awesome would it be if the Connors cross paths with her again and she becomes part of John’s resistance in the future….part of the Carter crew? That sounds possible.

I think I’ve figured it out! Whilst I was shoveling out from the freaky quick blizzard here in Colorado (from 80+ degrees to a white out… Global Climate Change? Naaah…. it couldn’t be…) I mulled over what we all have been speculating for some time:
Cameron is a part of “Weaver’s” faction as well as John’s (she is Weaver’s lieutenant or even possibly her very creation ). She was working for Weaver when Derek and the others were captured and interrogated… and then let go (not killed… hence the axe). Weaver wanted intel). Derek. Andy Goode. Etc. She wanted information on the creation of Skynet.
If Weaver was contemplating trying to make Skynet into something else before she went back in time, she would need to talk to the people partially responsible for it being brought on line.
Then the guy (I forget his name) from The West Wing went back in time at Skynet’s behalf to create a back door for Skynet. Skynet has now found John Henry and figured out what’s going on.
Again, I wouldn’t have particularly gone this route (with Skynet already around in the present) as it also smacks of T3 and the TX creating Skynet via downloading it into the internet, without Skynet becoming aware on its own.
Too deux ex machina for my tastes, but what are you gonna do?

The implication of this, I’d expect, is that JH will now be able to question Ellison’s teachings about right and wrong, about God and about the value of human life. He asked questions before, but questioning a concept is different than asking a question about a concept. John Henry will now have the capacity to “cross against the light.”

Wow, Cromarty is returning! The episode said it was Cyberdyne or somethin’. Also, I like how he plays with BIONICLE. The rest of the fans from BZPower.com were going crazy (my account is ‘Toa Kniletia’) about this. The link to here was in the news for Thursday, March 26. In fact, that Mt. Valmai was created by a BZP member! But he got the info wrong; the Toa are supposed to find the Mask of Life too, the ‘Dark Hunters’ who are trying to get it are rogues called the Piraka (rogue Dark Hunters), and Tahu Mistika, Gali Mistika and Solek were never on Voya Nui (they were actually in Karda Nui, a 2008 place, while Voya Nui was 2006. finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 someone said something about the stupid bionicles! no one ever said anything about that!!!! and now ive come to correct his pronounciation, valmai isnt pernunced vaylme its more of vaalmeye and with all due respect to the ppl on thr, i think using bionicles for an epiphany is a bit lame, probably stoe the epiphany from the vahki, or the mana ko, or some other robotic thing, idk!
