Utah leads this series 80-29-4 across 113 meetings, which makes the Battle of the Brothers the 12th most-played rivalry in FBS history. It started on Nov. 25, 1892, when the Agricultural College of Utah beat Utah 12-0 in what was the first football game either program had ever played. The winner takes the Beehive Boot.
For most of the rivalry's life, meetings in Salt Lake City were played on Thanksgiving Day, a tradition that ended in 1958. The schools have not shared a conference since 1961, so every game in the last 65 years has been one both sides chose to schedule, and the date has drifted to early September. Utah's longest run is 12 straight from 1998 through 2009, and its widest margin a 48-0 win in 2006. The series has gone to overtime exactly once: Sept. 8, 2012 in Logan, when Chuckie Keeton threw for two touchdowns and ran for 86 yards in a 27-20 Utah State win. That remains the Aggies' most recent victory in the series.
