The Week 1 game of the 2026 NFL season came from Ford Field in Detroit, MI on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT.

These two have been meeting since 1955 and the Superdome years gave New Orleans most of what it owns in the series, which is why a one-point overtime result at Ford Field reads the way it does. Detroit has now taken the last two. The franchises last met in the postseason in January 2012, a 45-28 New Orleans win in the Wild Card round in which Drew Brees threw for 466 yards, still among the largest passing days in NFL playoff history.
