Ohio State is 3-0 against Kent State, and for two schools about 130 miles apart the series is remarkably short — the first meeting did not happen until Sept. 7, 2002. Ohio State won that one 51-17, and it remains the closest game of the three. The most recent, on Sept. 13, 2014, was 66-0, the widest margin in the series. All three were played at Ohio Stadium; Kent State has never hosted.
Both prior seasons in which these teams met ended with Ohio State winning a national championship, in 2002 and 2014. Across the three games Ohio State has scored 165 points, an average of 55 per meeting.
