Dearest SCC viewers/fans/haters, it’s yours truly, Leven Rambin. Just wanted to stop by the blog to thank all of you for your support of me and Riley (even you naysayers!). You all inspired me more than you know so thank you for yours efforts. I had such an amazing time shooting (no pun intended) the fight scene with Jesse. Even though I could simply crush Stephanie with a single swipe of my husky hand, we managed to carry on a sufficiently entertaining duel. And I’m really dead for all you doubters.
I have never felt such a passion and commitment to my craft as I did during that scene. I am so grateful to the writers for having me go down in such a fantastic blaze of glory. I discovered strengths and weaknesses about myself during my time here that I will carry with me for the rest of my life personally, and professionally. Everyone in the cast is so talented and creative, it was a blessing to be in this environment as a young actress. I watched this past Friday’s episode with tears in my eyes as I realized how fortunate I was to have this opportunity. I will keep this episode on my Tivo until it absolutely breaks down, and even then I will salvage its parts!!

Even before we knew that you were a slum kid from the future you were incorporating odd quirks into your character and there was just something… more… sci-fi…. abou the way you were operating. Congratulations. You are not a whale.

I might be one of the 3 people out there who really enjoyed/liked Riley - you brought humor, warmth, and depth to what could’ve been a very 1 dimensional part. Best of luck in the future, Leven! Whatever problems there may or may not have been with the Riley character, none of them were your fault. You consistently did a great job playing her, lending her both charm and beauty, and I wish you all the best.
My favorite scene of yours was Riley’s first day in paradise (I assume), at the hotel. As much as I hated Riley’s presence because it took focus off Cameron, you really moved me through the eps, “some of US PEOPLE aren’t OK”, and by the end you made me feel for your character. Stuck out of love, and betrayed by trust, I really felt bad that I hated Riley, she couldn’t change her situation, though she tried. I never thought I’d say this before I saw Friday’s episode, but I’m sad Riley’s gone.
While some idiots (yes, I will reserve the right to use that word) criticized your looks in inappropriate ways, most just hated the character Riley, not you personally. I’m not one of those people, I never hated Riley. Thank you for bringing her to life the way you did, your acting was brilliant. Looking forward to seeing you in future projects. I’m sure there will be many.

As many others have already touched on, Leven, I hope you don’t think we dislike you personally. I think I would have a hard time separating the two if I were in your shoes.
Any time a girlfriend is forced onto a character I’m biased from the start. Despite going in with an open mind I never really latched onto the character. The only time she had any meaning was last episode in her death.
I’m really glad that Riley is dead.
But it’s good to know you’re still alive and kicking.

As one of the Riley “haters” I did not “hate” you as an actress, far from it, and thought you were terrific in the role.
I would think it was a difficult one being the buffer between our two heroes, or the creamy center between two crunchy chocolate cookie wafers, whichever you prefer! LOL!
I was actually hoping you would put the final beat down on Stephanie and pay her character back for what she did to your character! Basically turning Riley into a whore… and someone who was going to be sacrificed to the “greater good,” to boot!
The played becomes the player. Sweet, sweet justice, but oh well…
In fact, early on in Season 2 I saw the negativity building about your character and hoped that some BIG change could occur to make your role MUCH bigger and more important… become a member of the resistance, become a friend to Cameron, take off and come back as a tough villain in Season 3, see more of Riley’s background, etc. I thought you were getting a bum wrap with the role as written. Just my own opinion. But when nothing happened… I just hoped Riley would go away.
And I am sorry for that.
And to those “fans” who commented about your looks or had any other mean and hurtful and *personal* attacks to say… forget ‘em. Don’t give them ANY credence. ANY.
You’re a lovely individual and you’re fine just the way you are… and never let anyone say otherwise.

I hope you don’t take to heart anything said about the character, personally, there just wasn’t much love written in for fans in the character of Riley until last Friday. Jessie’s character shares the same fate. Regardless you both are great actresses.
Your last comment about being a “whale” saddened me. I apologize on behalf of my male counter-parts (even though I never made any comments) for the crude and undeserving comments made towards you personally. Don’t ever internalize any of the comments you read on the internet, or let them effect you. There’s just so much hate on here and it’s sickening how people can stoop so low and make such vile remarks.

I enjoyed the Riley character and the intrigue she brought to the show. I feel sorry for John losing the only friend he has now. I personally think she was falling in love with him and that caused her a lot of conflict. This is the first of some upcoming sad events it seems. Your performance in this epp was spectacular. I was really rooting for Riley to win and redeem herself. Taking on a soldier of fortune like Jesse was very brave of her. At least Riley’s swan song was one that we will always remember….and she looked especially beautiful in this epp.

Can’t say I was very happy with the Riley character until they actually started revealing who she really is. Since then I’ve grown a bit fond of her, and her rather difficult situation. She sure made a grand exit. So goodbye Riley and Leven!

I thought Leven did an amazing job as Riley! She was the character many loved to hate. And it was nothing personal, it was all about Riley. But I do like what the character added to the show, and to the depth of John/Cameron (even Riley knew that the only way to pull J/C apart was for Cameron to kill R).

You brought everything possible to the character, Riley; the full range of human emotion, and did it masterfully. You made me believe that John and Riley could have been right for each other, no matter the circumstances. You are beautiful in every way that a woman can be, and will be missed greatly. Since the future is not set, I hope to see you again.
As for you being a whale I have a saying I made up after spending a lot a time in both California and Texas. It goes, “When you see a pretty girl in LA, odds are she’s from Texas.” I’d say the show confirmed my observation.

You brought depth and sympathy to a very diiicult role in which you were always the outsider “threatening” the family unit. I asked earlier of Toni in another post if the hint of a smile at the fatal moment was relief that the deception was over or triumph that you never betrayed John Connor in spite of your domination by the duplicitous Jesse. When you look back you’ll see what we did-an actress increasingly the master of her craft finding ways to surprise us and to haunt our memories. Nice job…I look forward to watching you again in your next dramatic reincarnation.
I must say I am feeling pretty guilty rite now. I was a Riley hater the way the charachter was written. It didn’t happen from the start and had nothing to do
with you, but once Riley seemed to be dragging out the flow of the show, I
couldn’t stand it, but after watching the last episode I did a complete reversal
and was all for you, then they killed you…….Damn, the writers are Evil. You will

You knew John was being hunted by Terminators and you still stood up to Cromartie in that one episode. That makes you more hardass than I will ever be. It’s tough to portray the “homewrecker” archetype and expect to be well-received, but you really are a talented actress and I look forward to seeing you as the leading lady of your own show.

I don’t know if writers could predict such “hating’” reaction by public, but with
Ourlselves alone, you made a great portrait of a girl that maybe we can’t completely understand.
It was so difficult understand her, cause she was so disturbing for us and our peaceful lifes.
She was feared by war and hopeless future, struggling for survive against adult’s violence and world, lookin’ for her happiness with John, for a friend in evil jesse.
She fight her battle, but in the end, she loses. And this is really sad.
It’s look like the starting of a dark-ending conclusion for the show.. and there are 5 episode again overcomin’!
No hope for anybody, in the future (Allison) , in the present (Riley), in the Past (Kyle). Humans die, machines too. Only John Connor survives, but the price to pay is higher and higher…
Maybe, i think, will be Cameron’s stuff to revenge poor Riley !
Riley probably will be the only character in the show wich Cameron told the truth about herself…and maybe Riley will stop her from goin’ completely crazy with her last words about being “John’s sister”.

I liked your character and knew patience would pay off for us to truly see what Riley was. People bashed her, yet she went face to face with both Cromartie and Cam knowing full well what they were. Once it was revealed she was from the future I then remembered back to those scenes and thought dam she has guts.

You did a wonderful job, as you became the one character most TSCC fans loved to hate: that is a tribute to just how good a job you made Riley annoy us! for that reason, you know Riley HAD to die, right?
That she was faaaaar to good looking to find a loner geek introvert like JC of interesting was too far fetched to be believalbe; that she was waaaaay to good at taking control of his life and “whipping” him - with just a smile and a few clever remarks, the she was far to uber-bip/rebellious/cutting edge blah blah blah it seemed like she was a hippie from Hollywood - kinda like Woody Harrelson in drag!
It was plain to see she had another agenda, and was manip poor John. At least he will never know that you were playing him like a dime store ukulele. And at least she redeemed herself by fighting it out (what guy doesn’t like a good cat fight - esp. between two very hot chicks!). I just wish Riley had more combat training: she would have just bashed Jesse’s skull in from the beginning, went to John and told him her plan, joined their team there - and then DEREK would get killed for not informing the Conners about Jesse being there…
I hope you have a good career: come by the TSCC wiki and let us know what other projects you will be involved with. Because for all the razzing we have given both you and Riley, those last on screen minutes you won over a whole huge fan base, and I know we will be rooting for you and giving you our full support.
You family girl! And if you learn anything from TSCC fans, the one thing they ALWAYS clamor for is support and unity of the Conner’s family unity. We believe the survival of the world rest upon that one principle.

I loved Riley! thought the part was pretty limp but you were fantastic, initially bringing a human element into all the machinery which is a tough job. This industry is nuts but keep your heart true and am sure you will have much success

Admittedly, I’m one of the people who didn’t like Riley’s character from the beginning. Like many other people, however, I grew on her (a little) after finding out Evil!Jesse’s agenda.
I may not have liked your character, but your acting in this episode (and previous ones as well) was absolutely superb! You also seem like a very down-to-earth and fun person judging from your goodbye post, so good on you!

It is a real credit to your acting chops that you could carry a simple supporting role to make it such a center of controversy that was far beyond what the writing justified. The character that we loved to hate had me totally sucked in.
You did all the painful scenes so well and I realize even the “good” scenes were bathed in pain.
When you did the “bleached skulls” scene with your “foster parents” you blew the doors off the episode!
You’ve got a great career ahead.
I can pretty much agree with a lot of the people here Leven that I absolutely ADORED your acting and just wish the character had been written better. But you know what? Riley TOTALLY won me over when we found out more of her backstory and I was SO rooting for you to kick Jesse’s butt. I must say though that I’m now very sad to see you go, especially after the last episode, but I can honestly say thank you to what you brought to your character and how you added a new level to the show with your presence.

I admit when I first saw your character Riley brought into the show I didn’t like it. But the more I watched of the show and the more of your performance I think its too bad that they wrote you out of the story. If they hadn’t had Riley killed off just think of how much more drama they could bring to the story, not that there already isn’t going to be hell to pay once John finds out who really killed Riley.

most of the hate was always directed at Riley and the way she was written, the “reveal” she was from the future should have been early on, 2nd appearance. If they had done that I dont think the hate would have gotten out of control like it did.
by the time they did the “surprise” reveal it was too late, many fans had decided she was to blame for everything !
as soon as I saw the reveal ep I had to sympathize with your character, and in this last ep I felt really sorry for her as she had no one . she was all alone in the world.
you did a good job in the last ep and most I think were like me wanting you to win the fight with jesse.

Seriously, Leven, I think most people appreciated your acting skills on the show all season, although some thought there was not much “chemistry” between you and Tom. But then there wasn’t any REAL chemistry between Riley and John, so that pretty clearly explains that.
And we forgive you for lying to us all season about being a “normal” girl. We blame Josh for that (along with a lot else about season 2). I actually got a LOT more interested in Riley once the reveal was made. Then at least there was a point to her being on the show more than just being an opportunity for John to shirk his responsibilities and have his character damaged.
I don’t watch soaps, so I wasn’t familiar with you before TSCC. I will look forward to enjoying your work in the future.

I, for one, appreciated Riley quite a lot: once one is taking into account her exceptional circumstances there is no doubt that she was a talented infiltrator, a person with a big heart in search of herself, a great fighter who had been fatally wounded from birth alas.
I guess that many oedipal fans couldn’t take that John didn’t fall for someone more like his own mother.

I never had anything against her character, just didn’t get the point until now. She was incredible in this episode and the fight scene was awesome. I was hoping Riley would kill Jesee.
For the shippers: they can watch Riley die now, over and over, like in the movie Death Becomes Her.
btw I think we might see her in future flashback scenes.

I wasn’t too fond of Riley in the beginning either, but in later eps, knowing your background I was intrigued to finally see a non-soldier from the future. The scene when you first walked into Jesse’s hotel room was just awesome and believable. I am actually sad to see Riley go, and I really thought you were going to kick Jesse’s ass.

I admit, I wasn’t a big fan of Riley early in the season, though she has grown on me since we found out she was on a mission. Your final episode was definitely your best. I could truly feel Riley’s fear of Cameron, and her anger towards Jesse when she found out what her TRUE mission was. Well done!

You can relive the Jesse/Riley brawl of the season in vivid 1080p… and the disc won’t wear out (well, the player might if you keep watching it over and over… hell, you might need to get two or three Blu-ray players! Might I recommend the PS3 for games too AND a Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player?).
The peeps here aren’t lying. You were excellent in this episode, especially, and you have a right to be proud.
I think people are going to be jealous of that death scene.
Hope they bring you back for a cameo in some future war scene.

I wish you luck in your future endeavors and the fight scene was really cool! The departing is too soon. We’ve only begun to know Riley, her motivations, and internal conflicts. Maybe someday they will make a terminator in Riley’s image!

I also watched your scenes in this episode a few times, and that’s the first time I’ve done that for this show. You and Summer in the shed scene were just fantastic. Of course, Josh was ratcheting up the tension there, but your acting in that and the final confrontation with Jesse was just fantastic. I don’t think I quite realized what a great actor you are until then. That’s not to say you weren’t good in the preceding episodes, it’s just that you totally took it to another level in this episode.

I really like all T:SCC characters but I’m glad someone kicked Jesse’s ass, she really had it coming. I’m sure Riley got some pleasure out of it before her unfortunate death. Riley fought til the end, not a bad way to go. I really didn’t expect it.

I guess I’m in the minority here when I say that I absolutely loved your character. I’m really pissed that you killed you off. And I’m toying with the idea of not watching the show anymore. Seriously, you brought that much personality to the show.. to the point where the episodes without you (for the most part) were mediocre at best.

In my opinion your acting ability exceeded that of most of the ’stars’ of the show. When Riley freaked out on her stepfamily it was one of the most Terminator moments in the series. I don’t know what kind of training you’ve had but I loved your action scenes as well. Also anyone who looks like you do should not have any image issues. I hope to see you on both the big and little screen in the future.

Even though I wasn’t a fan of Riley, I appreciated your skills in portraying her especially during the teary fear ridden face off with Cameron in the shed, and I was rooting for Riley to bring the pain to Jesse and great fight scene and having Riley going out a fighter.

Still remember the scene taht Riley and Jesse enter in the Hotel after time travel, it doesnt leave my mind. One great acting of you both: Jesse, as a soldier, enter checking the place, the exits, the environment, and Riley, as a kid who never saw those things, go smell the flowers, smille to then, hug the pillows, touch the towels. She chinnes so much that atract Jesse attention to herself. In that moment we do understand what Jesse said “rescued form hell, brought to paradise”.

I really loved Riley - I always did, from the moment she showed up on the show. She was such an endearing, fun character. I didn’t care much for the plot twist that took away a lot of her funitude, but I still will miss her and will definitely miss Levan. And Levan, you are the perfect size! You are not husky at all - you’re beautiful. Much moreso than freaking stick figures like Summer Glau, but I won’t be mean.

Levin your character and your acting helped demonstrate just how tragic the Terminator universe can really be, a tragedy that can also be found in our everday lives. In that final scene you, and Stephanie Jacobson, painted a real picture of just how humans can be as cold as the machines they fight against in Terminator. Kudos to you for all the work you’ve done and I hope to see you in more projects during the future.

I really liked the Riley character. You did a fantastic job bringing her an edginess - unsure of whether she should be true to herself and her own feelings, or true to her “savior” - all the way to the end. It was also real nice to have a second gorgeous girl on the show (I believe you and Summer are very beautiful in very different ways).

I think that you will be missed…even by the nay sayers.
