Colorado leads this series 6-5 across 11 meetings dating to 1962, one of the few series in which Texas Tech trails a current Big 12 opponent. The two were conference rivals in the Big 12's original era before Colorado left for the Pac-12 in 2011, and the fixture returned when Colorado rejoined the Big 12 in 2024.
