Ohio vs Nebraska Highlights

For 30 minutes this was a game. Ohio held a 13-7 edge before Nebraska took its first lead of the afternoon at 14-13, and the Bobcats were a missed field goal from going back in front in the third quarter. Then the roof came off: Nebraska put up 35 second-half points and outgained Ohio 300-115 after the break. Anthony Colandrea went 18-of-32 for 275 yards with three touchdown passes, no interceptions and a rushing score in his Nebraska debut. True freshman Jamal Rule was the story, though, turning 17 touches into 169 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns in his first college game, including 106 of his 122 rushing yards on eight second-half carries. Nick Poulos threw for 164 yards and a touchdown and ran for another for Ohio, which finished with 303 total yards to Nebraska’s 523. Nebraska and Ohio had never met on a football field until Sept. 5, 2026, so the Cornhuskers’ 49-21 win in Lincoln opens the all-time series at 1-0. The only real history between them runs through one man: Frank Solich, who spent 41 years at Nebraska as a player, assistant and head coach, then coached Ohio from 2005 through 2020 and left as the winningest coach in Bobcats history. Ohio led 13-7 in the first meeting and trailed just 14-13 at halftime before Nebraska scored 35 in the second half.
