Drake Lindsey threw two first-half interceptions, and Michigan turned both into touchdowns, the second a 79-yard return by Nathaniel Staehling for a 14-7 lead. Minnesota did not allow another point. Luke Drzewiecki kicked field goals of 31 and 26 yards, and Lindsey hit Darius Taylor for a 3-yard touchdown with 13:44 left.

Aydan West and Zack Harden picked off Bryce Underwood in the second half. Underwood finished 10-of-21 for 101 yards, and Michigan ran 24 plays for 82 yards after halftime. It was Minnesota's first win in the series since 2014.

Michigan leads the series 78-26-3 across 107 meetings, and the winner takes the Little Brown Jug, the oldest trophy in college football. The series opened on Oct. 17, 1892 with a 14-6 Minnesota win in Minneapolis. The jug dates to 1903, when Michigan left an earthenware water jug behind after a 6-6 tie in Minneapolis, and the teams first played for it in 1909.

Minnesota's 20-14 win at Huntington Bank Stadium on Oct. 3, 2026 was the 100th game for the Jug and the Gophers' first win in the series since 2014, a 30-14 result in Ann Arbor. Michigan had won 35 of 38 meetings since Minnesota's 16-0 upset of the top-ranked Wolverines on Oct. 22, 1977, which was also the last time the Gophers had won the Jug at home.
