Description
Both 2026 NLDS matchups ended in four games. The Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres 3-1, winning the first two games at American Family Field and closing it out 3-1 in Game 4 at Petco Park. The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves by the same series score, clinching with a 4-1 win at Truist Park after the Braves took Game 2 in Los Angeles. Every game aired on FOX or FS1, and highlights and replays are on FOX One. Milwaukee went on to sweep Los Angeles in the NLCS and faces the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.
The National League Division Series was first played in 1981, when a midseason players' strike split the season in two, and became a permanent round in 1995 after the 1994 postseason was canceled. It has been contested every year since, including 2020, when the Division Series were staged at neutral sites during a pandemic-shortened season. The higher seed hosts Games 1, 2 and 5 under the current 2-2-1 format, and upsets are common: a best-of-five gives the lower seed a live chance in a way a seven-game series does not.
