Missouri leads the all-time series, but the exact number depends on which record book you open. Missouri counts it 58–54–9. Kansas counts it 57–55–9. Both agree on 121 meetings and both agree Missouri is ahead. The single game they split on is Nov. 19, 1960 in Columbia, which Kansas won 23–7 on the field before the Big Eight ruled KU halfback Bert Coan ineligible and ordered the game forfeited to Missouri.

The series opened on Oct. 31, 1891, a 22–8 Kansas win at Exposition Park in Kansas City, and ran nearly every year until Missouri left for the SEC and the teams went 13 straight seasons without playing. Missouri has won four in a row dating to 2009, most recently 42–31 at Faurot Field on Sept. 6, 2025, when Beau Pribula threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns. Kansas has not won since Nov. 29, 2008, a 40–37 finish at Arrowhead Stadium.
