New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is reported to be backtracking on his campaign promise to replace police with social workers in domestic violence calls. A flashback clip from a 2020 interview shows Mamdani stating that such incidents would be "far better handled by people trained to deal with those specific situations as opposed to an individual with a gun."
