Storms to soak drought-stricken Gulf Coast, Southeast through Mother's Day

Rounds of storms will close out the week across the Gulf Coast and parts of the Southeast. The flash flood threat spans a corridor from Texas to Georgia and will gradually shift east through the weekend. However, these storms will also provide much-needed rain for the region which is entirely covered in drought — particularly southern Georgia which is battling a historic dry spell.
