NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has increased the severe weather threat on Monday evening to a Level 2 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms for portions of eastern Kansas, northern Missouri and western Illinois, including Kansas City and Springfield. The primary hazard is large hail, which could also be possible across parts of eastern Oklahoma and southern Michigan. Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Louis are under a Level 1 threat.
