At age 17, Zeniah Flood faced an uncertain future after leaving home with nothing but a single bin of belongings. After experiencing housing instability and moving from house to house, she found a lifeline through The Faine House in Pine Hills. The organization provided her with more than just a place to stay; it offered the stability and emotional support she needed to thrive. With the guidance of Executive Director Ray Gaines and a full-ride scholarship, Flood enrolled in the Orlando School of Nursing. Now 20 years old, she has officially graduated as a medical assistant—a milestone that once felt impossible. Described by her teachers as a "ray of light," Flood plans to continue her education in medicine and hopes her story inspires others in crisis to keep believing in themselves.
