North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein took action Thursday on a $319 million plan to fund the state's Medicaid program. Lawmakers approved the plan this week. Stein's office has said he supports funding Medicaid, but some fellow Democrats have taken issue with provisions that could cause some immigrant families to lose eligibility. Stein, a Democrat, could sign the bill into law, veto it or let it become law without his signature. Republicans hold strong majorities in both chambers of the General Assembly.
