JD Vance resigned in January 2025 after being elected Vice President, and Governor Mike DeWine appointed Jon Husted (R) to the seat. This special election decides who serves the rest of the term, which ends in January 2029.

Governor

Mike DeWine (R) is term-limited, so Ohio elects a new governor.
