The remaining 14 home cooks visit Paramount Studios in Hollywood, California, for an exciting behind-the-scenes challenge on the set of the show "Glee." The judges - Chefs Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich - inform them they will be serving lunch to over 100 members of the cast and crew.
Jessie and Krissi won the last challenge, so they are now captains, but they will not be choosing their teams. Instead, "Glee" star Jane Lynch comes in to divide up the teams. She nicknames the two captains Beauty and the Beast and divides the contestants accordingly. Jessie's Red Team (the Beauties) is made up of Beth, Bri, Savannah, Eddie, Luca and Lynn. Krissi's Blue Team (the Beasts) includes Jonny, Bethy, Natasha, Bime, James and Jordan.
Each group will be serving three dishes - fried chicken, grilled salmon and vegan lasagna. Diners will choose one dish and taste both teams' versions. The cooks have 90 minutes in which to prepare their food and one hour to serve.
Under Krissi's strong leadership, the Blue Team moves quickly into action, and Jessie's Red Team is soon feeling the pressure to catch up. In a rush, Jessie cuts her finger on the mandoline slicer. Gordon begs the team to slow down as Jessie sees a medic.
With 20 minutes left to go, Jessie returns for the final stretch. But when Gordon finds the Red Team's salmon is sticking to the grill, he asks them to think about what they're doing.
The cast and crew of "Glee" arrive, ready for lunch. The Blue Team is offering spicy fried chicken, balsamic marinated salmon and vegan lasagna with spicy tomato. The Red Team has prepared Southern buttermilk fried chicken, salmon with Asian soy glaze and vegan lasagna with pesto sauce.
Halfway through service, both groups begin to run out of the most popular dish - the fried chicken. As they scramble to cook more, Joe discovers the Blue Team is serving raw poultry.
The Blue Team is still waiting for the new batch of chicken to cook when Jane Lynch arrives for lunch. She wants chicken, and Bime gets it to her just in time. As the lunch hour comes to a close, the diners vote for their favorite dish.
Gordon steps forward to reveal the final score. But Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith and the "Glee" marching band arrive to announce that the winning team is the Red Team, with 97 votes to the Blue Team's 37 votes.
The Blue Team then must face the Pressure Test back in the MasterChef kitchen. As the team captain, Krissi gets to decide who will compete. She puts Bethy, James, Bime and Jordan through to the challenge.
They are tasked with making a meringue pie with a twist - no lemons. They must bake with any other kind of citrus. They have 90 minutes to create a stunning dessert. When Bime puts cream of tartar instead of cornstarch into his curd, Krissi laughs from the galley above.
The four cooks present their dishes to the judges. James makes a blood-orange-and-lime pie. The flavor is nice, but the pie is undercooked. The crust falls apart on Bethy's lime meringue pie because the pastry is raw. Jordan's key lime pie looks the best of the group, and the curd has the right texture. Bime's lime meringue pie is so soupy that Gordon pours it into a cocktail glass. In the end, Bime is asked for his apron back, and he leaves MasterChef.
