After Chef Ramsay's rare display of mercy, both Tennille and Lovely have been chosen to remain in Hell's Kitchen. However, after the elimination round, Suzanne expresses her belief that Tennille should have gone home. Meanwhile, Van tells Kevin that Andy's poor performance during service has proven that he is hanging by a thin thread and needs to prove himself or else he will be the next to go. The following morning, it seems the rising tensions on both teams haven't gone unnoticed by Chef Ramsay.
Each of the aspiring chefs is paired with teammates they don't necessarily get along with for the first ever sausage challenge. The challenge's purpose is to teach the chefs that what happens outside of the kitchen shouldn't affect the food. Arch enemies Tennille and Suzanne are assigned to work together, while Van must collaborate with Andy. For the sausage challenge, the first team to bring Chef Ramsay six perfect chains on sausages, each consisting of six links, will be declared the winner. During the challenge, Tennille and Suzanne surprisingly impress Chef Ramsay by producing sausages that meet his standards. But it's the men's lack of teamwork -- especially by Robert and Jim, who fail to score any points -- that loses the challenge for the men.
As a reward, the women get their own private Oktoberfest-style party. As their punishment, the men clean every inch of the filthy dorms. Robert and Kevin lose their tempers in an argument about who is to blame for losing the challenge, getting in each other's faces and screaming. After reconciling, Robert and Kevin point to Jim as the sole cause for them losing the challenge.
Meanwhile, the red team celebrates their victory at Old World Village in Huntington Beach. Jean Philippe, accompanied by German beer wenches, join the party where everyone drinks the finest beers, eats gourmet sausages and dances to the music of a live Oompa band.
The following day, Dave receives a phone call from the doctor, telling him his MRI results show that his arm is severely injured. Dave meets with Chef Ramsay where he must make the tough decision of whether he should stay or leave Hell's Kitchen. After much thought, Dave decides to stay but Chef Ramsay tells him to go to the hospital first to get a cast for his arm. Though Dave is confident about his decision, the blue team does not feel the same about the upcoming dinner service since they will be one man down.
Several VIP's show up for dinner service including John O'Hurley, Tom Green, and Drew Lachey. They are greeted tableside by Jim and Ariel, who Chef Ramsay has assigned to serve an amuse bouche to the patrons. Ariel manages to successfully greet the guests as well as help her team in the kitchen, but a slow Jim fails to do the same. In the kitchen, Tek's over-seasoned appetizers and Lovely's under-seasoned garnishes prevent the women from having a smooth service. But they're not alone, for in the blue kitchen Andy constantly fails at the meat station.
Luckily for the men, just when they're in need of a helping hand, Dave returns from the hospital and comes to the rescue. With only three tickets left in dinner service, Chef Ramsay announces the first team that finishes wins. In the end, it comes down to the sides, which means all eyes are on Lovely and Van at their garnish stations. The blue team pulls through and is declared the winning team, which Suzanne questions.
Chef Ramsay lays into Suzanne for publicly questioning his decision. He then names Sabrina best of the worst and she nominates Tek and Lovely for elimination. After the two nominees plea for their future in Hell's Kitchen, Chef Ramsay decides to ask Suzanne who should go home. The outspoken Suzanne responds, "Lovely" and Chef Ramsay agrees. Lovely is eliminated, ending her dream of being the Head Chef at Araxi Restaurant and Bar in Whistler, British Columbia.
