  • What was your first job in a kitchen?

    First restaurant job was for my father, scrubbing pans and bussing tables before I was old enough to drive.

  • What is the first dish you ever mastered?

    Grilling steaks and burgers and pasta dishes. I remember my mother’s Alfredo that she made for me every year on my birthday. It was my favorite.

  • What is your signature dish?

    Toasted coconut crabcake over pineapple mango celery salad.

  • Any stories of triumph from the kitchen or workplace? Disaster?

    Once I made a fresh gnocchi dish from scratch in a half hour. Triumph. Once a deep fryer caught on fire in the kitchen at my family's restaurant and I decided to put it out with a fire extinguisher. Big mess, failure!

  • Who was your first cooking inspiration?

    My father and my family. I come from a restaurant family.
