Hell's Kitchen

WED 8/7c

Susan Heaton

  • When did you first start getting serious about cooking and why?

Prior to my 30th Birthday I realized that I wanted to do something that made me happy and that I was passionate about, so I enrolled in culinary school. I'd been living my life for others and wanted to do something that would give me joy!

  • Why did you want to be a contestant on Hell?s Kitchen?

I wanted to be a contestant on HELL?S KITCHEN because I wanted the challenge and to prove to myself that I was resilient and could handle anything that came my way. I also really wanted to grow my knowledge and have an experience of a lifetime.

  • What was your favorite experience on Hell?s Kitchen?

I enjoyed learning and growing as a chef and person, winning challenges and getting rewarded for our hard work was very memorable.

  • What is the most valuable lesson you learned from Chef Ramsay?

Chef Ramsay taught me so many lessons. Not just about how to properly sear a duck breast but more importantly how to overcome challenges and persevere. He taught me that being passionate and hardworking are valuable characteristics.

  • What is your favorite dish to cook and why?

My favorite dish to cook is anything healthy. I love pan seared Chilean sea bass with fresh vegetables and a delicious puree (any root vegetable will do).
