The high-pitched voice of reason in the Griffin house, Lois is the only woman capable of tolerating Peter.
Alex Borstein is best known for her work on several seasons of the hit FOX series "MADtv" and her wildly popular original character, "Ms. Swan."
She also was seen on the cable drama "Shameless" on which she serves as a consulting producer. Borstein recently appeared in Seth MacFarlane's hit live-action comedy feature, "Ted." She starred in "Killers," alongside Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl; and "Dinner for Schmucks," with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. Her additional feature film credits include "Good Night, and Good Luck," "Little Man," "The Lookout," "Catwoman," "Kicking & Screaming," "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," "Coyote Ugly," "Showtime," "Bad Boy" and "Bad Santa."
Her critically heralded one-woman stand-up show, "Drop Dead Gorgeous (In a Down-to-Earth Bombshell Sort of Way)," is available on DVD.
After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in rhetoric, Borstein started performing improv and later joined the ACME Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles.
Originally from Chicago, she lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jackson, and son, Barnaby.
