The Latin category encompasses a vast array of dances from Latin America. Included among them are such well-known disciplines as the Rumba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo, and Samba, as well as less common dances like the Bachata, Bolero, and Cumbia. Many of the "So You Think You Can Dance" competitors have specialized in Latin dancing, including Season 3's Anya Garnis and Faina Savich, Season 5's Maksim Kapitannikov and Asuka Kondoh, and Season 6's Ashleigh Di Lello and Karen Hauer. But it was 4th runner-up Lacey Schwimmer from Season 3 who would spin her Latin training into a broader TV career, becoming a professional dancer on "Dancing with the Stars."
