Summer Glau! “Wesley!” BSG Guys!
Joss knows his audience, and recruited some fan favorites for the new episodes of Dollhouse.
Here’s the press release for all the casting details and some scoop on Season Two:
Summer Glau (”Firefly,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) reunites with Joss Whedon when the actress joins the cast of DOLLHOUSE this fall in a recurring role as BENNETT, a Dollhouse employee who shares a past with ECHO.
Additional guest stars appearing throughout the upcoming second season include Alexis Denisof (”Angel”), Jamie Bamber (”Battlestar Galactica”), Michael Hogan (”Battlestar Galactica”) and Keith Carradine (”Dexter”).
DANIEL PERRIN (Denisof) is a U.S. senator leading a witch hunt to track down the underground organization. Mysterious, charismatic businessman MARTIN KLAR (Bamber) is Echo’s new husband. BRADLEY KARRENS (Hogan) comes to the Dollhouse hoping to stop a psychotic family member’s killing spree, while MATTHEW HARDING (Carradine), a nemesis of Dollhouse leader ADELLE DEWITT (Olivia Williams), stirs up trouble. Additionally, DR. CLAIRE SAUNDERS/WHISKEY (Amy Acker) and MADELINE/NOVEMBER (Miracle Laurie) return this season in multiple-episode arcs.

Summer Glau on Dollhouse is great news! I miss her and TTSCC. Looking forward to all of the guest stars in season two.
August 28th, 2009 at 10:41 am
OMG THAT IS AWSOME!!! Summer and Alexis!! I’ve loved Summer on Firefly, The 4400, and TTSCC.. she is amazing. And umm wow.. Wesley coming to the show when Fred is already there!!! I’m dying!! Now bring Charisma Carpenter for a few episodes!!

Way to go Joss and company. Hoping that Dollhouse will take off and give us fellow nerds much more seasons. Its been too long since Mutant Enemy could spread there wings.
On a personal note, It wouldnt be Mutant Enemy without James Marsters”spike” or Tom Lenk”andrew” from Buffy. And would it be asking too much for Nathan Fillion”caleb” to make an appearance? I also hope that Felicia Day sticks around for awhile too.
September 1st, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Alexis Denisof!!!!! OMG I am sooo excited!!!!!
Wesley was my fave character on Angel!!!!
September 2nd, 2009 at 4:18 am
Summer Glau in Dollhouse? What The Hell??? What about TSCC season 3? My mistake… I forgot the FOX cancelled!!! :@
Summer Glau deserves TSCC season 3!
September 3rd, 2009 at 1:01 am
Alexis and Amy!! Yes!!
September 4th, 2009 at 6:32 am
Never watch Fringe again as long as Fox shows the annoying tweets on the screen. Ruin the show!
September 5th, 2009 at 7:20 pm
I hope season 2 is better than 1. I know Whedon can do better, and this is his chance!
Bringing in some Whedon vets can only lead to good results.
September 7th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
Mike - don’t worry, the tweets are only on repeats. so we won’t have to worry about that happening on the season premiere or anything. thank God. i’d shoot my tv if they did that all the time.
September 8th, 2009 at 7:54 am
Looks like season 2 will be even better now that the foundation has been built! Great cast return as well.
September 10th, 2009 at 8:05 am
OMG! Alexis and Amy! I love Joss Whedon’s creations so I’m so excited to see how this one continues. I just hope it stays on the air for awhile, because then they can get other people from Joss’ other shows on, they already have four actors who Joss has used before! Tom Lenk or James Marsters would be amazing, as would Charisma Carpenter or even Emma Caulfield
September 11th, 2009 at 8:53 am
I am so getting my fix of favorite people from past Whedon shows this season. With Boreanaz on Bones, and all the actors on Dollhouse this season I will be one happy camper!
September 14th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
If Summer Glau defines her new role as well as she did her roles in Firefly and TSCC she may just steal the show. Glad to hear she has work here with Joss after losing such a tasty roll in TSCC - such a fine young actress. Now there’s another reason to wish Dollhouse a long prosperous life: to see Summer finally get few years to really flesh out a character rather than being cut down in its prime. Joss better start thinking about past actor overkill though. I think too many Buffy/Angel alum might get a bit much for some people, no matter how much I’d love to see them all working with him again!
September 14th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Over the years FOX has dropped to many TV shows that I liked. Season 2 of Terminator was interpreted by my cable company in the middle of the season, so I dropped Time Warner because of it. There is no Future for FOX and me this year
September 16th, 2009 at 6:01 am
Hi, I just wanted to say that Dollhouse has low ratings becuase the show isn’t on terestial t.v. in the U.K. I will not be able to see series 2 because I no longer have sky t.v. Sort it out guys make dollhouse available to all! We need something decent on the t.v.
September 16th, 2009 at 6:00 pm
I know the Whedon troupe works very well together, but this sounds like someone is trying too hard to bring back the late 90’s early 2k’s. Sorry to read about T:TSCC being cancelled; I only watched three shows last year, Doll House, T:TSCC, and Battlestar, the rest of the time my TV stayed unplugged.
Here’s to a great second season for Doll House.
September 17th, 2009 at 10:55 am
This is just lame. You guys blow for cancelling TSCC.
September 17th, 2009 at 2:39 pm
TTSCC being cancelled was the stupidest thing ever, but Fox seems to do that a lot. Like with the cancellation of firefly (my fav of the joshs work) BUT i am excited that dollhouse is comming back!!!! hopefully fox wont be stupid again and cancel this too. I agree, too many buffy/Angel/ firefly alums can be a bit overkill. and I am still waiting on the wonderwoman movie that josh wedon was suppose to do. still looking forward to a great season.
September 18th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
The cast lineup for Season 2 sounds great. I think the Eliza Dushku/Summer Glau combination adds a lot of power to the series. They both have a unique talent for reaching the audience and generating a large fan base. Looking forward to Episode 1.
September 18th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
Hell yeah. Loved the first season, cant wait for the second. Go Go Joss. Grab as many of our favorites as you can. My only suggestion, move the hell away from FOX. Cant shake the feeling Dollhouse will end by December or the 2nd season will be its final season.
September 20th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
I loved Firefly, so I was glad when Joss Whedon got to somewhat finish that story when he made Serenity.
Dollhouse seems to be a pretty good show for him so far and I’m sure Summer Glau will be a great asset but I’d still rather see her have a chance to finish her story in The Sarah Conner Chronicles first.
I couldn’t wait to get home to watch the latest episode of T:TSCC every week. It was just a bonus that it was followed by a show like Dollhouse.
September 21st, 2009 at 4:46 am
Summer Glau and Alexis Denisof! Yay!
When I was watching Firefly, I could not for the life of me figure out where I’d seen Glau before. Someone above (LunaBoi) said she was in The 4400, which finally explains why she looked so familiar.
Anyway, I’m so glad Dollhouse is back. I wasn’t able to watch most of it last season, but bought the DVD a few weeks ago and caught up. I am never disappointed in Joss Whedon, and so glad to finally see Eliza Dushku playing such a dynamic (understatement!) role.
This season I am definitely watching every Friday. I don’t care what happens!
September 22nd, 2009 at 12:29 pm
Alexis Denisof and eliza dushku and amy acker??

Wesley and Faith and Fred? All together? this is like a dream
Joss is a genius.
just hope fox isn’t dumb enough to mess with whedonites and cancel this show.
way to go Joss, show’em what you got
September 22nd, 2009 at 11:23 pm
@ Anna (and anyone else who cares…) :
quote:
“just hope fox isn’t dumb enough to mess with whedonites and cancel this show.”
WHAT? You mean like what they did to Firefly?
Summer’s been burned TWICE! - Firefly & Terminator:..
I see that Fox’s programming geniuses have scheduled Dollhouse in the same old time slot, which is one of the worst ones they’ve got. Almost ALL SHOWS scheduled on Friday Evenings eventually turn in poor viewer stats & wind up getting canceled.
Don’t get me wrong here - I love the show, and have been a huge fan of Whedon, Glau, all of the Firefly cast, & all of the BSG crew.
I just wish that SOMEONE out there on a better network would take a chance and give these guys the attention that they deserve!
….but, alas, it’s all really just about the

oh such joy for thinking folk to watch Joss give us what we need and good fodder for chats with family and friends. I am a boomer-fogie and have been watching since the original trek. My bro and I discuss each dollhouse as well as still talk about Firefly. In fact, I have to have my firefly fix with the movie and series. Now bring that back and I will go happily into the night.
Until then, I will watch Dollhouse with all the wonderful folk from syfy. Hey give Ben Browder a recurring role. Now that would be great. Thanks, Joss
September 25th, 2009 at 10:31 am
I cannot wait for the second season of Dollhouse, I’ve recommended it to all my friends :).
The mix of comedy, action and the beautiful women of the dollhouse!
September 25th, 2009 at 10:32 am
I am in love with Dollhouse, this and Glee are my favorite shows ever! x
September 25th, 2009 at 3:11 pm
I can never forgive FOX for choosing Dollhouse over TSCC. Between the two, the choice was obvious. FOX screwed up. Therefore I can only feel annoyed that Summer would join the show that destroyed TSCC. This is just not right.
September 26th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
Excellent cast for season 2… hope Amy Acker and Miracle Laurie will be on quite often. Not a fan of Summer Glau, but everyone else looks great. Now where is James Marsten?
Would love to see Claudia Black as a Doll!
September 26th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
why was terminator chronicals cancelled? it was my favorite show last 2 seasons. i even got the dvds.
September 30th, 2009 at 5:23 am
DOLLHOUSE ROCKS. the only trouble with sky tv is they always hack shows to bits i am going to get DVD of season one
October 2nd, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Fox blows. The fact that they canceled Firefly After they screwed up the order and didn’t finish the episodes for the season prove they don’t know a great show if it were to bite them on the rear. Fox consistantly makes bad desisions. So my question is this… Why oh Why is Joss still working with these morons?? Can they seriously be the only channel interested in his work??
October 2nd, 2009 at 11:02 pm
I bought Dollhouse season one before even seeing one episode because I knew joss makes amazing shows. So far I am amazed at talent and work the cast and crew have put forth. I hope this show has several seasons so I can get them all!

dollhouse is amazing totally love the show. cant wait to get season 2 on dvd
October 7th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Dollhouse is my favorite show right now. I was hooked from the beginning, but Joss has turned up the heat this year. I like that.
I’m sad about the loss of Terminator, though. Summer Glau was perfect for that role.
October 9th, 2009 at 7:35 pm
“Summer Glau and Alexis Denisof! Yay!

”
Summer may look familiar because she was a ballerina in an episode of Angel. Angel, Cordy, Fred and Wesley went to a ballet performance and it ended up that it was haunted.
And I think FOX is stupid enough to cancel another show that I like because they would rather pay for cheaper programs like “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader.” Yeah, cause that’s some good TV there. Not. I’m sick of it.
October 10th, 2009 at 8:15 am
Great news. We love Summer!!!
October 12th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Mr. Whedon, Please don’t get me wrong. Huge fan! Watched all your previous shows. I had really high hopes for Dollhouse and last season was amazing. I even watched the unaired pilot, which I thought was really dark, but still good.
I’m somehow starting to not care about Echo/Caroline this year. She seems extremely aloof and I don’t really see her gelling with anyone on the show. I see great chemistry between Boyd/Whiskey, same with Ballard and Dewitt. I thought we were going to see more of Victor and Sierra - I’m hoping that it will come soon.
Its great to see BSG cast members on - I love that show and Jamie Bamber was great as a bad guy! I just hope I don’t lose interest. So please, please, please, can we make the characters work better on the show?
October 13th, 2009 at 10:12 am
Great show, still waiting on season 3 of TTSCC though; a great series that deserves more.
October 13th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
I love Summer Glau!!!
I was really glad to hear she will be coming to the cast of Dollhouse !!
But with happiness comes disappointment that another show was canceled the TSCC !! Summer is one of the few female sci-fi actress that can pull and hold an audience, and these execs look to the bottom line of tv shows and what they bring in right away. Rather then the future of these really great shows like TSCC and all the other ones they have canceled due to reasons us fans dont understand. Its like they suck us in for 2 years then just like that there gone with out so much as a goodbye….
Goodbye TSCC it was awesome to have a show that came from the silver screen into our living rooms and hearts you gave us fans (apparently not enough in fox exec eyes) a hour where fantasy became reality on a plasma screen in HD and i will miss that because reality shows suck no matter what how popular they are. T.V. is meant to entertain!! Since when did watching people cook become entertainment (sorry Hells kitchen)!!!! GO DOLLHOUSE !!! Also GLEE is awesome.
October 14th, 2009 at 3:16 am
Hooray for Felicia Day on Dollhouse!
Episode 13 of Season 1 was SO amazing. You could base a whole new show off Ep. 13’s premise alone. It was a creative new spin on a “zombie” apocalypse. I’d certainly watch it. Too bad it wasn’t shown as part of the series.
I’d like to see Wil Wheaton and Rose McGowan guest star, too.
October 14th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
I told my husband this would happen as soon as the Sarah Connor Chron. were cancled! Yes!
October 14th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
I just want to say that I think FOX deserves HUGE props for not only airing this, but giving it a second season.
With the exception of DISTRICT-9, DOLLHOUSE is by far the most demanding SF of this decade..and it’s on TV.
I mean–no uncomprimised good guys, no purely bad bad guys, bot much in the way of shot em ups, incredibly complex storylines, interlacing themes, and on and on.
They’ll be *teaching* DOLLHOUSE in universities for decades.
FOX may not have meant to, but they’re basically become an underwriter for fine art in the guise of pulp TV.
That’s pretty damned awesome.
So FOX suits–thank you. If doing this for another year is unfeasable, I totally get it.
Of course, if those DVR and other things tick up a bit, well…
October 15th, 2009 at 10:35 am
everyone out there in the whedonverse please e mail fox on behalf of this show iot is on its last leg with the network and it is too awsome to be cancelled
October 16th, 2009 at 8:46 pm
Marsters was on an episode of Lie to Me. So, we know he’s willing to do episodes.
October 23rd, 2009 at 10:22 am
Summer Glau is an outstanding actress and it’ll be interesting to see what her contribution to the Dollhouse might be.
I loved her in Firefly; personally, I’d like to see Mutant Enemy do a remake of Firefly as a direct to DVD or TV movie.
A recent article written by a highly respected industry watcher expressed that the time is right due to the continued better than expected DVD sales!
According to the article, all Mutant Enemy has to do is ask and it could happen.
As far as Dollhouse goes, J.W. didn’t set the hook till the very end of the season, now I’m anxiously awaiting each new episode!
October 24th, 2009 at 10:23 am
notice how nobody is calling for sarah michelle gellar…isnt that a little odd? of course there are close to three pages worth of names (even single spaced) that have crossed one whedonverse of the other that id flip to see on dollhouse.
October 24th, 2009 at 11:01 am
hell yea SUMMER GLAU i love her. And Special Agent Frank Lundy on dollhouse, should be a great 2nd season
October 24th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
The new season is just great! I loved the Oct 23rd show! It was really deep; way down deep where most of us live, but never know it. We are all asleep on some level. The waking up is always hard to do. And now we are going to have Summer G and the crew from BSG etc. Thanks guys. Edmundi
October 25th, 2009 at 7:27 am
My cous just informed me that Dollhouse has been cancelled….Fox will air the last 13 episodes in December……….WHAT???????????????? Although I am not surprised…..They better not touch FRINGE!
October 28th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
Dollhouse is smart and wonderful, thusly a prime cancel target. Hey FOX NETWORK –THIS IS THE ONLY SHOW I WATCH OF YOURS!
I’m gonna weep when it’s done because it won’t be finished right.
Nothing for me on this network so when it’s gone, I’m gone.
November 1st, 2009 at 2:22 am
I’ve recently started watching Dollhouse, and really like some episodes a lot, others not so much. Summer Glau is definitely good news, I loved her in TTSCC. FOX made it very clear recently exactly how far Dollhouse will go, which may prevent the uncertainty and disappointment that we are usually subjected to when the upfronts don’t include our favorite show. I think FOX is trying to become more fan friendly.
November 3rd, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Hey I love Summer’s work but, does anyone see a trend with her? Firefly- Amazing idea, great stories, awesome characters-Canceled
TSCC: Good show, cool idea, neat characters-Canceled
Dollhouse: Neat idea, cool stories, changing characters- Talk of Cancel!
Is it just me or is Summer cursed!? If she’s a character the show’s canned if they talk about her as a character they talk of canning the show! Summer, maybe you should do what Nathan did and run to ABC! The only reason Fox exists anymore is because they keep getting new awesome shows, but then kill them! Note: to other networks, if you see an awesome new show on Fox call the producer and buy it, cause Fox will cancel it within a year!
November 4th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
I love this show. The last episode was really good. I am always surprised by the plot lines. The addition of Summer Glau will make this show even better. This show is way better than fast forward.
November 6th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
Dollhouse is amazing. I have to watch online because I work evenings but it is worth finding time to watch it. Its the only thing on fox worth watching. It is remarkable that Whedon would stay with fox. I knew from the beginning of Dollhouse that fox would swing its axe again; fortunately we got over a season this time. I really think all the good shows should just skip the idea of being on fox and go to the other networks. At least after fox canceled that drive show Fillion got to a network where he could get to season 2 (and hopefully 3 and 4). Glau and Whedon should follow his lead.
November 10th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW! This is the smartest show on television and if you don’t think people are watching think again. Look at the following website for proof…

Please

I LOVE this show, it’s amazing! You don’t understand! We must have more MORE!!! I tell you!!!

Fox,
I have been trying to find your e-mail address, but I will have to look some more. For now this will have to do.
Thank you for airing Dollhouse and TSCCs. They were both very awesome shows. It is too bad that you guys had to cancel both of the amazing and well done shows.
I really like TSCCs and was shocked when I heard that it was canceled.
I really hope that Fox can find some way to keep Dollhouse on the air. It is not canceled yet so please allow the dollverse to thrive. It is one of the most creative shows with attitude and people love that. Just because people have to work and miss the show doesn’t mean that it is having bad ratings. Just bad live ratings. Most people don’t have a choice but to catch up with their shows on-line. Thing is, they can’t do that when the show(s) are canceled because the network doesn’t care about the fans.
Sounds familiar doesn’t it? This happened with Firefly and Joss had to make a movie, Serenity, to make the fans feel like it wasn’t finished. Thankfully the unaired episodes were on the dvds in the boxed set of Firefly.
I am already upset that I have to miss Dollhouse every week untill the 2hr events come on in December.
Save the Dollverse, don’t put them to sleep, please.
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
November 12th, 2009 at 11:31 am
Ooops, I made one mistake. It was supposed to say in the paragraph about Firefly/Serenity:
Joss had to make a movieto make the fans feel like it was finished.
November 12th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
Fox, you seem to always cancel the shows I like. I hardly watch your network and that’s the main reason why. A few other shows I watched were canceled. I had decided to not watch your network but then last year, I started watching 3 different shows on your network. Dollhouse, Fringe and Bones. (I was watching Bones on DVD only.) Anyway, you should keep Dollhouse. The storyline is getting better and better. Plus, there is nothing else that’s good on at that time on any other channel. And no matter what you put in it’s place, I will not watch it because you’ll most likely cancel it in the future.
SAVE DOLLHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 16th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
You cancelled the best show on this stupid network. I like Glee but Dollhouse was one of the most creative shows on tv, which is why Fox probably cancelled it. If you want ppl to watch your network, then you would be better off to keep quality shows.
Fox is very lucky to have the talents of Joss Whedon. I hope Joss can move the show to another network!
