Phillip Attmore met with tap choreographer Derick K. Grant to learn a routine with Bianca and Peter. Nigel mentioned that tap is impressive because it looks graceful up top, but down below there's a lot of tough footwork happening.

My whole family inspired me to dance in their support and encouragement.

Yes, on Broadway and on tour.
What has been your most memorable dance experience?
Dancing in squatter camps in South Africa

The passion and heart of every dancer I’ve met inspires me. Listen to understand…then speak if necessary.

Gene Kelly in “Singin’ in the Rain” from Singin’ in the Rain, Gregory Hines and Ann Miller in “Too Darn Hot” from Kiss Me Kate

As many as I can!

What style do you hope to pick out of the hat? Which style of dance are you afraid to get?
I would like to pick Contemporary, Broadway, or Jazz. Not afraid, but I will need to focus for Hip Hop and Ballroom.
Is there a particular type of dance that you don’t know but want to learn?
I would want to learn African dance
Which So You Think You Can Dance alumni do you look up to and why?
Ryan Kasprzak! Because he helped make way for other Tappers.
What do you hope to gain from this experience?
I hope to grow as much as possible and be myself.
What does making it to the Top 20 mean to you?
Making it to Top 20 is an incredible feeling.
What would you like America to know about you?
I want America to know that I love people, and I love life.

My name is Phillip Attmore and I am 25 years old. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I started dancing at the age of 3. After graduating from the LA County High School for the Arts, I began working and traveling in shows around the globe. I have worked on Broadway, been featured on television/commercials, and I work in a non-profit performing arts company that serves different social causes around the world (Mosaic Urban Poets).
