By now most of you have heard the news that T:SCC is cancelled. I received a call earlier today from Peter Roth at Warner Bros. and I appreciate both his personal and professional support throughout this show’s life. I know a lot of you are angry about the cancellation and want to find a place to direct your anger and to that I say do yourself a favor and find a way to move past it. Every network wants a big fat hit, especially one with a brand name behind it, and Fox was/is no different. They supported the show, they supported my vision of the show, and they gave it plenty of time to find an audience.

And what an audience we found: passionate, intelligent, kind of nuts in a good way. My only complaint about the T:SCC fans is that there aren’t ten million of them. But I prefer to be happy for the ones we had instead of lamenting the ones we didn’t.

Good shows are cancelled every year; smart shows, worthy shows, shows which move their viewers to write blogs and have viewing parties and create action figures and bury executives’ email accounts under thousands of messages. I miss Deadwood and The Wire and Arrested Development but thank God that I still have Rescue Me and The Office and a recently renewed Party Down written by ex-T:SCC writer John Enbom.

Bad shows are cancelled, too. And certainly there are those who did not like what we did and had their own vision for what a Terminator TV show should be. It’s easy to look at low ratings or cancellation as “failure” and for those who believe we’ve gone about this all wrong I’m sure today’s news will only serve to confirm a world view that I would never try to change. We’ve written the show as best we can, executed it to the best of our abilities, and sent it out in the world knowing that we worked out asses off to do something that wouldn’t be a waste of anybody’s forty-three minutes.

Thanks to a brave and talented cast, a feature crew working on a TV schedule, and everyone else who I could list but won’t because they know who they are. Mostly I’d like to thank those of you who’ve supported us and fought for us and given up hours of your life to watch our show. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about. The watching.

Hope we do it again soon.

Josh Friedman

  1. Thank you for a show I loved and miss. I know everyone will say the same thing. But this show meant something to me that no other show has before
    Thank You.
    Clara

  2. Should have said love and miss…
    sorry bad grammer :)

  3. Thanx Josh for all your work and support on TSCC ! you a great producer and we all want the show be renew ! WB must make a move and sell the Franchise to other Tv Network ! Millions of fans will be devastated if nothing happen !

    Respect Josh !

    FF

  4. It was a great show, thank all of the cast for it.

  5. I loved your show, I loved the cast and the crew you put together Josh. Thank you for the best two years of television I’ve known in a long time, probably ever will know. Terminator is my favourite franchise and I always wanted more than just action in it, you made that for me and the fans, so thank you!

  6. Thank you. You are all truly amazing and thank you so much for bringing us this wonderful show. It has been an unforgettable experience, watching, discussing and fighting for this show and I will always be grateful for what we DID have.

    Thank you for everything.

  7. Thank you for making a great show that made me care. I’ve deleted my My space page in protest. #foxfail

  8. I’ll get my comment in before it gets ugly and I’ll get back out.

I have loved this show right from the start, Josh, and I will miss it terribly. You have every reason to be proud of it and it will be sorely missed!!

Much love to you and everyone involved in T:SCC

  9. I had a great time with TSCC!!! Thank you so much!!!

BUT THE WAR IS NOT OVER

  10. Thanks, Josh. I love the hell out of this show and I’m crushed by the cancellation.

  11. I’m thankful that this show even existed in the first place. Josh and his crew did a bang up job making it, and all of us fans did a great job trying to support it. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing we did.

I will miss the show and the community.

  12. Thanks for the kind words Friedman but I don’t think that the whole put-your-anger-over-the-cancellation-aside-thing is going to work for T:SCC, we had too much vested in it, in the stories and the characters and that kind of connection doesn’t break that easily if ever it breaks. Thank you for the two amazing seasons, this show will never be forgotten.

  13. Thank you, Josh, and all the writers. You made something beautiful and I’ll cherish it for a long time. Amazing work.

  14. Hey Josh, thanks for bringing us two seasons of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. No other TV show has inspired me to start writing fan fiction and that is something I will take with me into the future. Thanks to all the crew and cast too, you did an outstanding job!

    respectfully,
    mr_green

  15. Thank you Josh and everyone else involved with the creation of this very special show. You guys have touched me in a way that no other show has touched me and I’m sure no other show ever will.

    Many thanks to all involved.

    Bravo!

  16. Thanks. Good luck with your future projects!

  17. It’s an amazing part of the Terminator canon, these past 2 season of Sarah Chronicles. Please put lots of bloopers/gags on the DVD.

Lots of love and thanks. =)

    Renee

  18. Thank you, Josh for creating such a wonderful, wonderful show. Thanks to the awesome actors in the show who made us care and believe in the characters. The writers, producers, crews and everyone who is involved in the creation of TSCC, you have my utmost gratitude. I’ll continue to support you guys in and from the future. =)

We might not be able to see another episode of this show again and it breaks my heart. But The Resistance lives on forever. It’s in our blood and soul. It’s been an honour fighting alongside all of you. :)

    Fujii from Malaysia

  19. Edit: Of course, that have said Sarah Connor Chronicles.

  20. T:SCC - I salute you!

What a sad sad day. I know these things happen but I can’t believe that Fox pulled the plug on this one. FOX, you made a very wrong decision. The choice to cancel this show was not the right one.

To all involved with T:SCC you did an amazing job in every regards. Thank you for all the fun and entertainment. You will not be soon forgotten and best wishes to you all!

  21. Thank you Josh. The show was everything I could have asked
for.Action, drama, mystery, and suprises. What more can you ask from a tv show? This show made me care about the Terminator franchise once again.Thank You!

  22. You had an excellent crew to work with and they turned your words and the words of all the others writers on the show into a story about people that I learned to love, hate and shed more than a few tears with. What hurts the most, is that this is like a novel with the last pages missing and I’ll never get to find out how the story ends.

  23. Thank you Josh and everyone for bringing us this amazing show for as long as you did. I am sad and I am angry and i can’t help that because TSCC touched me on a level that no other show ever has or probably ever could again. But the fact that it did that — that TSCC reached in and grabbed me — is what made it so special. It was an incredible experience and I thank you again for that.

    - Roxy

  24. Thanks Josh at last we have it official. Really sad about this and yeah we will have to get over it. It truly does suck though. I will be buying season 2 on dvd as well. Just have to watch it over and over again like Firefly :(

  25. Thank you for this dream, Josh!

  26. Thank you, Josh for a wonderful two seasons of the best TV I had ever had the pleasure to see.

I will sorely miss this show.

The very best of luck to you and everyone involved in TSCC.

  27. Thanks, Josh. You made a fantastic show, and we appreciate it. I’m sorry there weren’t more of us.

  28. can you at least tell us your visions of s3?

  29. I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been apart of this show!
From the cast & crew to the fans- you guys have made these past 2 years the best two years of my life! I’m so happy and blessed that I found this show, it has made a real difference in my life! I’ve never been this involved in a television show before, your show has touched me in ways no other show/movie ever has! And even though this may be the end, at least I still have 31 drop dead kick ass episodes to watch and re-watch for the rest of my life- and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Best of wishes to everyone involved with this show!
I will be looking forward to any future projects you’re apart of!

    - Airofina :D

  30. T:SCC was better than every other show on TV, yet it still got cancelled by FOX.

The soulless ghouls at News Coporation strike again.

  31. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Gee, this is so bad.

Is the movie supposed to “continue” what the serie has managed to build? Hah, I certainly laugh at the idea. Might be good and everything, but will never have the depth and smart ideas the serie had.

Thanks everyone that worked to make one of the greatest TV series I’ve ever seen.

I seriously hope this won’t end here. Either a new serie, or at least a novel. You brought as a mind blowing ending. If there was more to it, if there was a whole story planned out, it should certainly be told and should not die in simple fox moneymaking ideas.

I’m really thankful for they have started the serie. And then, it makes sense that they wish to end it. But yet, one of the greatest sci-fi stories is about to die unfinished, I just hope it doesn’t come to that.

Thank you TSCC cast and crew,
    hope to see you around.

    March

  32. So does this mean that the Producer himself has thrown in the towel?
Do WE, the FANS, have to carry all the weight on our backs?

I don’t know what happened behind the scenes at WB and FOX, but maybe you could shed a little light on that so we can all understand WHY the Producer himself sees no point in fighting for the show. The Browncoats were given Serenity because their PRODUCER was leading the charge. Are you not going to fight for the show?

Is it beyond your power to approach WB and explore EVERY possibility for a series renewal? Why not suggest they make TSCC into a Direct-to-DVD project? Why not talk with them about SOMETHING?! The fans can perform miracles on occasion, but we can’t do this without the showrunner at the helm. Come on, Josh. What have you got to lose by trying?

Forgive me if you’ve done all you can and have already had these discussions with the Powers, but I cannot abide the thought of this show dying simply because those involved were not willing to fight for it. This show is too good to be gone forever.

Please Josh, read this comment and reply to it. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

  33. Thanks for a great show Josh, but please don’t ask me to put aside my anger. SCC was a great show with strong female characters, excellent writing, lots of drama and action and a universal message. I doubt Fox will be able to top that.

    Bad move.

Everyone on this blog knows that Dollhouse had lower ratings than SCC. I can only assume politics were involved with the renewal of that dumbass show.

  34. I posted this a few minutes before Josh’s goodbye went up sorry for the double post, but the first is buried under 1k+ comments lol. I took the time to write it up so here it is.

Well first off I want to thank cast and crew of TSCC for providing us with(imo) the best show on television in years. The writing was nothing short of fantastic, the acting and delivery from the on screen talent was executed well. A very thought provoking show that will be missed by those that understand good work when they see it and do not buy into w/e the “network” wants us to watch.

Summer is talented beyond any words I can type here. I had never seen any of her work prior to this, and after seeing Tscc, I see she has that intangible “x-factor” about her that you cannot put into words but you know she puts her heart and soul into her work and she naturally captivates viewers.

Lena much like Summer, really “sold” the character she was playing. Without a doubt, added another dimension to the character of Sarah Connor. Unlike some, I enjoyed seeing the episodes that focused on Sarah. Great job Lena.

B.A.G, I do not watch alot of TV, so going in I had no idea who he was(his prior work), and in the beginning the idea of a resistance fighter from the future he had some big shoes to fill from Kyle Reese in T1. He became one of the coolest characters on the show and I do not know if anyone, yes anyone, else could have done a better job. Great casting and execution here.

Dekker, from the outset of the show in s1 I was unsure of how this would work out. From pilot-finale I felt the viewers saw true evolution of the character, well played Dekker.

Ellison, the stand alone man of god that gave the viewers a look from a different perspective at “the big picture” in Terminator universe. I liked the development of this character alot in the series as well, from losing/changing his job, questioning his faith, and trying to make sense of a chaotic world.

Now again special thanks to all involved, great casting, directing, writing, acting etc.

To Fox, thank you for s1 and 2, however in a word I am disappointed. Mainly that none of you saw the potential in this show. Nevermind the fact that Salvation comes out this week and that would no doubt increase viewers by astounding numbers. Fox you owed this show at the very least half a season to see how much revenue you could bring in from Salvation alone w/o additional marketing. This show to this day picks up viewers from word of mouth(I know 5 people that just began watching Tscc b/c of Salvation coming out), again you fail to capitalize on that opportunity. DVR numbers were good for this show, and when you put on lolPrison Break you should have seen the very noticeable difference in ratings. While we on topic of ratings, shame on you(and all the other networks) for using the flawed/outdated neilson ratings in the first place and not letting other factors influence your decision.
You let this incredible fan base down, and I for one will not be watching any of your programming in the future.

To the fans here, I saw a great effort put forth by all of you in an attempt to keep this show alive, be proud of yourselves for working hard and believing you can make a difference, and you can. Put that same effort forward to any aspect of your lives and watch how much of a difference it can make. Do not get discouraged from the news of this show, find a way to apply that same passion for this show to other things in life to better yourselves. Do not support Fox and take what the network gives you, it promotes low self esteem and the mindset that, “your opinion does not count.” Nothing good comes from that mentality. Remember the difference between a winner and a loser is a winner gets back up.

  35. Thanks Josh for an amazing two years and for writing to say hello to the fans! Honestly, it will take me a while to just put SCC’s cancellation beside and “move past it” - that’s what happens with passionate fans! :) This was more than just a TV show to me - it gave me a great cast and crew who’s talents I appreciated, stellar writing and production, and a character of Sarah Connor, wrapped up in the indelible performance of Lena Headey, who taught us all to hope against impossible odds.

Thank you all for an incredible two years. I’ll be looking forward to the S2 DVDs and what projects the cast and crew have in the future. :)

  36. Television is so much behind web 2.0 and now web 3.0 that we will be seeing more good shows being canceled in the future.

If you cannot figure out how to make money on the INTERNATIONAL level from a franchise that just continues over generations, there is something wrong in your business model. We seriously need to investigate the problems, find solutions and change regulations and laws governing the sales and distribution of TV shows.

Please look at the Google and Facebook model. Why are they making money? How would their model relate to the Television industry?

  37. I’ll have to agree with Veran. I’m certainly not ready to let go of the show yet. No other options we can explore?

  38. Thanks Josh, but could you atleast tell us what happens, or was going to happen in season 3?

  39. good run.

  40. SEVERAL ISSUES:

    1. The show got a short 9 episode season 1 amidst a writer’s strike and a second season in the middle of which there was a move to Friday. How can you say they supported the show? They talked about establishing a Sci-Fi Friday, but they think that’s gonna catch on in 9 weeks? How long did it take X-files and other Sci-Fi hits to establish themselves? More than two full seasons in one timeslot.

    2. Josh you’ve had a defeatist attitude from day 1 and you intended to make Born 2 Run the series finale all along. That’s fine, but then you shouldn’t have left so many unanswered questions and you DEFINITELY shouldn’t have left Cameron the way you did! You should also have told us to stop campaigning a month ago!

    3. Despite overwhelming fan demand you have thrown in the towel and you refuse to be open-minded to any sort of continuation. That’s totally bogus! If you don’t want to do it, someone else can, but we want a proper finale and a proper conclusion to the story we invested a lot in! To us it’s NOT just another paycheck.

  41. Thanks for everything, Josh, staff, cast & crew. We loved the show and we’re going to miss it. Thanks for staying in touch with the fans, that made the whole experience even more fun for us. Thanks for organizing the Golden Apple events, whoever did all that work.

It ended too soon but it was certainly great fun. I’ll still look forward to the Season 2 DVD, it’s preordered on Blu-Ray.

  42. It was a great series. I enjoyed it very much.

  43. YES…… JOSH… CAN YOU TELL US WHAT WOULD HAPPEND IN A SEASON 3?… ATLEAST A CARTOON… WE JUST WANT A STORY FROM YOU… YOU DID A REALY GOOD STORY… BETTER THAN THE MOVIES…

WE HOPE IN THE FUTURE YOU CAN FIND US… AND GIVE US A SEASON 3 … IN 2010 OR 1011…. WE REALY HOPE.-…

THANKS JOSH … FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO… THE THANKS AND RESPECTS FROM US TO YOU… THE F@KC WORDS AND THE WORST WISHES TO FOX.-….

  44. …i really apreciate your little message for us…thank you very much! it’s very rare i watch tcv show it been long time exactly…TSCC mean much for me not only because i would love and i still love it..but his characters mean so much…i would love the John and Cameron relationship

Congratulation to the cast…to you of course and the actors talentued! i have the 1st season in Blu Ray..nd i wii buy the 2nd too…

And yes your show work very weell in other country…i am french

It’s a shame to not renew it but your are wrong on one point it’s the Fox’s fault all of this if the mean of rating were better and the timeslot the ratings will be like 10 million of viewvers for sure…

    I thought Fox’s guy were smart /clever..but apparently not…

Like i said it’s not the number of diploma certficate who prove the inteeligence of a man..

I know what you said about the move o other channel and like you i prefer it ended there instead make a por 3rd season on CBS or SciFi..it’s sad but it best like that..i think

  45. It’s really sad that this show got cancelled. It was what I looked forward to every week when it was on. I cancelled Friday plans when it moved to Fridays and I didn’t regret it. What I got was rich story telling, great acting, and great production. The viewer was treated with intelligence, but unforntunately that seems to be a death sentence. It was refreshing and it will truely be missed by those lucky enough to have seen it the first time around. I’m still going to get people to watch this show as the fact that it was cut short doesn’t make it any less great.

To me you, surpassed the ideas of the movies… some might think I’m crazy, but my favorite John Conner was played by Thomas Dekker, my favorite Sarah Conner was played by Lena Heady, and my favorite Terminator was played by ever graceful Summer Glau. Your portrayals of these characters will be missed.

Thanks to the cast and crew for a great 2 years… I wish it could have been many more.

  46. Thanks. I wish my favorite show was still on the air though. I’m waiting to at least hear what season 3 would’ve been like. Def picking up season 1 (again) and 2 on dvd.

  47. Josh,
Thanks for sharing your vision with us in way that encouraged us to think. Not much of that on TV these days.

Please keep that in mind when you record the DVD commentary, that some of the symbolism is still being debated. Some clarification would be awesome.

    Tackdriver1956

  48. Guys, Josh has repeatedly said he’s not going to tell us what would have happened in season 3, he wants to keep us speculating long after the shows cancellation.

  49. Thanks Josh for an amazing 2 year adventure.

  50. i feel so sad but josh, thank you so much for making an awesome show that i had a great time watching over the past 2 years.i really hope sci-fi picks it up with the same crew and everything. but anyways thank you so much josh :) and a thank you shout out to all the cast members who helped making T:tscc, i love you guys:) AND for fox i am very disappointed. how could you cancel a great show. i am never watching your shows ever AGAIN. NEVER AGAIN!!!! again thank you to everybody who helped making the show n the to the fans :):) !!!!!

  51. But he said that when we thought there would be a season 3, now if there is not going to be one, why not tell us.

  52. I hate fox season 3 would of been the sh*t. Now im back to not watching tv again.

  53. It’s hard to follow your advice, Josh. You had us put our trust in FOX despite our misgivings at the start of the first season - and what did FOX do? Exactly what we all feared.

    Lesson learned - moving on - FOX-less.

Thank you for a great two seasons - wonderful crew, wonderful stories, wonderful actors. You will most definitely be missed.

  54. Thank you Josh friedman.
    Thank you Lena Headey
    Thank you Summer Glau
    Thank you Thomas Dekker
    Thank you BAG
Thank you all the Writers, Cast member and all the people who worked on the show
TSCC was the best show that ever been made

  55. Thanks to Josh for taking the time to write a message. The show was ground breaking and inspiring and will go down in the history of drama as a major highlight.

However Josh has to be generous to Fox, because he has to keep working in the industry. To be fair to Fox, they are no worse than pretty much any other TV channel, they are controlled by accountants and not artists (let alone scientists).

On the other hand, this is a very short sighted decision and just goes to prove that TV channels like Fox have no respect for their viewers whatsoever. We invest our time in watching these shows and there is no commitment to see them to a satisfactory conclusion. I’m not going to waste more of my life watching shows that may or may not be cancelled. TSCC was the last show I was watching on TV and that is now it, if the TV channels don’t start respecting their viewers then they have permanently lost me as a viewer.

There are other forms of entertainment available and I’ll be taking them.

IMHO We viewers must start demanding that TV shows are fully written from front to back and funding is guaranteed to finish making them, before we even begin to watch them. Alternately money should be (overtly) set aside to ensure there is funding for a final season or a feature length ending - this would also make sense for adding value to future DVD sales and syndication.

As for TSCC, its only hope of getting made is if another network picks it up quick before the actors and writers drift away. (Unlikely). I guess in an alternative time line season 3 was made, and in the future no doubt a powerful computer will be able to generate all the remaining episodes for our viewing pleasure, I’d guess around 2025.

  56. Last chance for now is to lobby SCI FI channel then!

  57. I strongly agree with Veran. Please shed some light on why it sounds like you’ve thrown in the towel, Josh.

The fans need to know that you’re working on every other option… maybe we could all pitch in and help in funding a direct to video independent movie finale that ties up loose threads.

As with Hadley’s brilliant idea of getting vocal and enthusiastic fans to bind together and create something together as a group, this could be the start of something new and different. There are young and talented S/FX artists (practical and digital), editors, cameramen, DP’s, etc. out there and probably hungry to lend a hand just to get the experience.

Shoot it on high quality digital HD cinema cameras and in Canada, if need be, to cut costs, etc. Go through an independent distributor like Magnolia Pictures (Mark Cuban’s baby). Get some support from James Cameron and Linda Hamilton, who might back you up on this side venture. They could probably help you get WB and Halcyon to view this as a side vetnure and not as a direct threat to the movie franchise.

Look into Mi Casa Multimedia creating an exciting 7.1 channel audiophile audio mix (downmixing it to 5.1 for the HD broadcast and DVD,;releasing it in 24 bit, 7.1 channels for Blu-ray via DTS-MA lossless) for this project without shelling out huge bucks for Lucasfilm or Todd-AO or some other huge post-production house to do the audio engineering and mixing.

Debut it on HDNet Movies and then through Magnolia Home Video for Blu-ray and and DVD distribution. Be daring like Steven Soderbergh. Just a thought.

If the actors are able and willing to do this as a kind of side project outside of a huge paycheck and you and your writer team supply the script for said movie wrap-up finale this could be quite an inspiration for breaking all the rules of Hollywood and starting a new way of making movies.

Don’t give up on your end and maybe this could change the face of filmmaking.

    Do it for the fans.

  58. Thank you Josh,

i promise you that your- two season TSCC Dvds s will always stay there, on my table, in a special position, when they will arrive in italy !

The history arc was completed with born to run. For the past, this is enough and gives us all the answers.
But, forever, i will question myself what it could have been with a 3rd season .

Salvation is not the same. TSCC explored human and machine’s feeling. Excellent.
But, as we can see, today’s tv and today’s public maybe is too slow in front of this.

Thank you Josh. Missin Cameron already. Waitin for your new show soon !!

    From Italy . Francesco

  59. Yikes! Sorry for the typos. My laptop keyboard has been wigging out on me.

  60. Really, what is the point of bashing Josh? He’s clearly a talented professional with a lot of class. This show was his baby. I’m sure he’s very disappointed in the decision to cancel it to say the least. Is he supposed to throw a public tantrum? That would be helpful wouldn’t it. In the end, it was just another brilliant television show canceled before its time. That happens every year.
On the other hand, I don’t think this cancellation is akin to those of The Wire and Deadwood. Those two shows, which were perhaps the best series ever televised in the U.S., reached somewhat fulfilling conclusions. I can watch the DVDs of those shows without feeling a deep sense of loss. I feel more like I did when Carnivale was canceled: At sea. I have the DVDs for Carnivale but it’s difficult to enjoy them since I know they end at a point that feels more like a beginning than an end. That’s how I feel now. Metaphorically speaking, it’s like I’ve lost a child whereas losing Deadwood was like losing a parent.
I wish you, the cast, the crew, and the writers all the best. You created a show I’ll always love. I wish I’d have the chance to see it mature. Sad.

  61. Email your support for Sci Fi channel picking it up (URGENTLY).

    feedback@scifi.com

  62. aww god damnit :(
    I’m giving up watching tv.
thanks everyone, you’re all awesome, but i gotta say cromartie was still the best… :D
    Dan Hitchman’s idea sounds great

  63. This is BULL!!!!! This show meant a great deal to all of the fans!!!!!!!!!! Fox ruined things by the way they handled things….i.e. the 9 week first season and then the 2 month break and move to another night ruined things. This show never had a chance to make any further than it did. To Josh and all the writers: you did a fantastic and outsetanding job of telling this story. I was more addicted to the TV portrayal than I was to the movies and that is saying something considering I have always been an addict of the movies too. I mean hell, the ratings for Dollhouse went down because once TSCC was done people stopped tuning in. I am really depressed over this. To all of the actors of this show: All I can say is WOW!!!! After that I am just at a loss for words. Thank you to everyone involved with this show. Please find a way to get another network to pick it up. I don’t care what time slot it is in; I know I will tune in!!!!!
The last thing I can add, why is it that when there is such passion for a show and a fanbase that will relentlessly fight for a show that the network does not pay attention? I just love how it all boils down to the almighty dollar. Hey Fox, thanks (sarcastically speaking) for listening to us. You have taken something away from us that meant a lot. I am another one that will stop investing my time watching any of the crap that Fox puts up anymore. Fox is not banned in my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  64. Here’s another thought: as to my post above… have any and all residual profits derived from video sales of this movie finale go to various charities the actors and yourself support.

    Really be different.

  65. Argh. I will miss your smart show and your awesome ‘bots. It was great while it lasted. See you at your next gig! We nuts will be watching! ;-)

  66. Oops!!! I meant to say that Fox broadcasting is NOW banned in my world

  67. Well, first of all can I say that I think that Fox has made a big mistake in cancelling TSCC. It was an amazing show, the best Sci Fi show in a long, long time.

I am from the UK and I have watched this show since day one and I have enjoyed it from start to finish. With the exception of a few slow episodes such as Earthlings Welcome Here and Desert Cantos season 2 was amazing. I didn’t really like the introduction of Riley either. Nothing against Levin though, she’s great. I just didn’t like the character.

TSCC was a show that had everything. Action and adventure…time travel….drama, mystery, suspence, love/romance (wish there had been more Jameron…) and most of all, a fantastic cast!
Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau were amazing as John and Cameron. There interactions were a pleasure to watch and I will miss seeing them on my screen every week.
Lena Headey and Brian Austin Green have been great as Sarah and Derek and Richard T. Davis, Garret Dillahant, Shirley Manson and the rest of the cast have also been amazing.
I take my hat off to cast, crew, writers and producers alike for bringin us a truely wonderful show and I will miss it dearly.

No matter what, The Resistence will live on forever.

    Catriona, United Kingdom

  68. Thank you, Dan for what you wrote, meaning both of your blogs on here!!!! If it counts for anything, I firmly agree with you!!!! Please, Josh, don’t give up on the fans!!!! If you stay strong for us, you know we will be there to back you up!!!!

  69. @Dan Hitchman

I like the enthusiasm, but it just not how things work. As the chief writer Josh doesn’t have the clout to attempt what you are suggesting and more importantly, it would not aid his career to be seen to be trying to do so.

Writers have to be professional and they have to turn these kind of disappointments into positives and embark on new projects. If they can’t take this kind of thing in their stride, they won’t last long in the industry.

Not to mention Josh doesn’t own any of the intellectual property to the franchise.

We can’t expect anyone to throw away their career for the sake of a show, however much we love it.

Finally as I said above, 15 years down the line, it may be possible to generate the remaining episodes in the same way cartoons are sometimes used to do so now, in which case it might be possible to get everyone back together to do some kind of wrap up project without the commitment and expense that such a project would require right now. (I don’t think a cartoon is going to work for this show, however good Ghost in the Shell was).

  70. For some reason I wrote Richard T Davis *confused* I was sure I wrote Richard T Jones…lol
    anyway…that was what I meant….everything else I wrote still stands….

  71. Mr Friedman, the cast and crew… THANK YOU so much for what I feel has been the best TV show of the past 2 years.

I am from the UK and will sorely miss T:SCC. I haven’t been glued to anything as much as this incarnation of the Terminator series.

The cast were brilliant and so suited to the roles. I’m so disappointed in FOX for taking this show off the air, when so many, much poorer shows are kept alive.

Surely, with T: Salvation out, the show would have only gained a greater following for those who enjoy the movie and want their Terminator fix until the next film?!

Remember… only the good die young.

Thanks to all involved and I can’t wait for the Series 2 DVD.

  72. Josh

I can understand what you are saying and why but you also have to understand what we fans are saying. Speaking for myself, I understand that all networks want that one big hit that has all the advertisers coming with fists full of money wanting a place on the show. They are happy with a show that gets viewers with high numbers that keep the advertisers they have.

I understand that they can and do cancel or keep shows with no regard to the fans but for the money that they hope they can make. That is why so many of the posters are upset with Fox for canceling T:SCC and keeping Dollhouse. T:SCC beat Dollhouse in everyway but perhaps the cost of the show.

But also understand where we come from. We are the ones who give the networks the numbers. We are the ones who watch the ads. We are the ones who buy the products and if a network upsets us, we are the ones who will desert that network, giving them less numbers, thus less ads and thus less money. I only watched 3 shows on network TV, all of them on FOX and all because of T:SCC. They were T:SCC, Dollhouse (because it came on after T:SCC and I just didn’t change the channel) and Fringe. With T:SCC gone, there is no reason for me to watch Fox any more, so I will go back to the channels I use to watch (none of which were network channels). It has many years since I last watched network TV and the only reason I started was T:SCC. It will probably be years, if ever, before I watch again and from what I have read on this and other sites, there are more than a few thousand that agree with me.

So thank you Josh and all others with or on the show. Thank you Fox for at least giving us 2 years. However no thanks Fox, nothing you have on or say you are going to put on interests me, so also goodbye Fox , I doubt I will see you again.

  73. What!??…..But…..but….what!?!………why….NOOOOOOO!!!! ARGHhhhh!!. How the??!!……. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!……. But why??!! me sooo very sad now :( :(

  74. Chris B,

James Cameron has clout. Gobs and gobs of it. Mark Cuban has clout. They seem really, really enthusiastic about breaking all the rules.

They are mavericks and they have vast resources at their disposal. Why not be a maverick too and try something totally new with this? They may just be open to something crazy.

    Go out swinging!

Don’t let the system get you down… rage against it, which is one of the tenants of “The Terminator” franchise.

  75. Thank you, Josh! Thank you, all cast and crew. Thank you, Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau, Lena Hedy, Brian Austin Green, Shirley Manson, Richard T. Johnes and all other actors and producers and writers.

And at last, does the show hasn’t any chance to raise again?

  76. Thanks. Thanks for cool characters we really liked. Thanks for the cool actors who played the cool characters. Thanks for some fine memorable moments in television history. Thanks for a complex, not convoluted story. Fox made their clinical business decision, no use hating on them, got to get on with life.

    F*ck the critics.
    F*ck the ratings.
I hope this is a stepping stone to bigger things for the TSCC crew.
Who knows, TSCC might, just might be back for one last time…. one day.

  77. Thanks Josh, but please, don’t give up! :(

  78. BAH! Depressing news…
Maybe i should start watching Oprah instead?
Atleast it is getting renewed for the next 20 years :P

  79. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=3&id=63153
Probably already been posted, but vote for Terminator.

  80. Thank you, Josh for creating a bold new character in Cameron to live along side Arnold and John and Sarah Connor in the pantheon of James Cameron’s wild and wonderful world of “Terminator”… maybe we can see her up on the big screen in T5 and T6, or even a spin off show!

Thank you to Summer, Thomas, Lena, Brian, Garret, Richard, Dean, Shirley, Mackenzie, Leven, Stephanie, Samantha, and the rest of the fine cast for wonderful and memorable performances. You all played rich characters we cheered for, loved, loved to hate and boo; it didn’t matter… you all deserve to take a final bow.

Good luck and God speed to all of you on your further careers! May you all live long and prosper!

    Sincerely,

    Dan Hitchman

  81. http://www.petitiononline.com/abcd94/petition.html petition for season 3 to be direct to dvd

  82. I am so sad to see this. I loved, loved, loved your show! Is it possible for it to be picked up by the Space channel (Sci Fi channel?)

  83. Your words bring me no comfort Josh. None at all! It’s going to take me a very long time to get over this, especially because of the way the finally ended. Now what the heck are going to do now? Huh? Tell me. You’re OK, you’ll continue to work, as well as all the cast and crew. YOU know the rest of the story after he finally, but WE DON”T!!

It’s easy for you to say get over it, you know what is to happen to our beloved characters, I don’t, and frankly I WANT SOME ANSWERS! Fox left us high and dry, and all you can say is thank you, and get over it? Are you for real man? I can’t believe you said that!

Look Josh, I love your show. I wouldn’t be sooo upset becouse of it’s cancellation if I didn’t. I loved everything about. What really is digging at me is the fact that I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, in the end! surely you can understand that. I want/need closure!!

Sir, I don’t care if you finish telling us he story through a newspaper comic strip, PLEASE finish the story.

  84. Gregory,

Josh has already stated they will not discuss what Season 3 was going to be like.

Maybe we fans should all sit down and hash out our own stories to finish things up.

  85. How could we let this happen!!!!

  86. Great show, great cast & Crew and a really great experience for me.
All was great, exept the broadcaster.

I can’t excuse that they fooled us over weeks - shame on you FOX !

  87. Hey guys, this is kind of random, but does anyone know where I can find that promo/music vid for the show, set to Shinedown? Someone on youtube used to have it up, but they seemed to have taken it down. I loved the general tone of that video.

and as much as I hate it when Dan hitchmen does his relating things to lyrics thing, it would be fitting if somehow we did get a direct to dvd movie or season. “sometimes goodbye is a second chance”

not that I expect that to happen though, Josh is done trying. it shouldn’t be hard to understand, I’m sure he’s been trying since production wrapped up to get some way to breath life back into the show, but nothing took. Plain and simple. He’s ready to move on with writing other pilots and/or movies he has ideas for, rather than beat a dead horse in hopes it’ll come back to life.

  88. i think im gonna go cry now. Thanks for TSCC Josh and other ppl what couple seasons we had were awesome :(.
    This sucks.

  89. Oh well. I guess that means I won’t be watching Fox anymore. Not that I watched any other show on Fox besides Terminator, but now I’ll be sure to make a point of not watching Fox. In fact, if there’s any show on Fox that looks like it’s worth watching, I’m gonna pirate it and sell pirated copies. Terminator was the only show worth watching, recording, watching again, and watching one more time online.

  90. I guess I have to accept that one of the best TV-shows ever have ended.

Thank you Josh, cast & crew for this amazing 2 year ride!

Good luck to you all with your future projects.

  91. This is so unrighteous:-(((

  92. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication, Josh. I guess we’re left to draw our own conclusions on the fate of John and the post and pre Judgment Day worlds and the people who envelop them. Rest in Peace, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

  93. Thank you so much, Josh. I’ll be eternally grateful to you and the amazing cast and crew that made this wonderful show possible. :)

    @Everyone:

Please, have a look at the link at the bottom and let me know what you think about.

I strongly suggest not giving up and keep on fighting this way:

If some of you with better knowledge of the media business think it’s a viable alternative, I will post the link in question on every TSCC fan site and ask every single Resistance Fighter on the planet to send a bunch of e-mails to WB’s executives with this link and a brief text so that they can take into consideration this possibility.

    http://io9.com/5258428/an-unexpected-chance-to-see-tscc-again

Please, let me know what you think. If this is a suitable possibility, then we should give a last try.

    No fate.

PS: I’m not at denial stage, I’ve been through every single stage of the grief and now I’m considering what might be a suitable alternative. Let’s discuss if it’s possible. TSCC’s well worth one last stand.

PS2: Big thanks to MattLive for the link.

  94. Thank you, Josh, for posting this and please keep us updated on what you do next. If it’s half as smart and compelling as Terminator, it’ll still be better than just about anything that’s out there these days.

  95. Thank you Josh Friedman.
    Thank you Lena Headey
    Thank you Summer Glau
    Thank you Thomas Dekker
    Thank you BAG
Thank you all the Writers, Cast member and all the people who worked on the show

    What he said.

  96. Josh,

I guess those are the breaks, buddy. I wish it could have been otherwise. Thanks for the Born to Run finale. I knew when I saw the episode that you knew the series was over. Thanks for trying to wind up many of the loose ends and questions raised during the show’s run. As a viewer of badly treated Sci/fi shows dating back to the original Star Trek your effort was much appreciated. When you have the time how about sharing your vision of where the show might have gone if it had been renewed. And think about a novel (graphic or straight print) to carry the story forward. All the best in your future efforts and keep it touch with your fans.

  97. Wow and I thought an overcast Monday couldn’t be any more depressing.

I just wanted to say thanks, these have been the very best two seasons of television,
Everyone involved with this show did such a great job I look forward to seeing what you will all do next: I am sure it will be just as fantastic.

    Thanks again

  98. Well, I am very sad. However:

Thank you, thank you for this show– one of my favorites of all time.

It was a glorious couple of years of anxiously anticipated live viewings, delicious repeat watchings, intense parsing and theory wrangling, and lots and lots of show-love.

Your hard work, creativity, and dedication are so appreciated. Like you, I’m just sorry that too few people were in on it.

Good luck to you in your future projects.

  99. OMG! noooo!!! Damn I cant believe this! Now how am I supposed to watch Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau. I need Jameron. Well I loved the show and am exteremely sad know that it’s gone but we can still show our support for all things terminator and see the new Salvation movie.

  100. Thanks Josh, while sometimes I mumbled about some of the episodes this is the best show I have ever watched. I’m not a fiction fan at all, usually a discovery channel type person except for the Terminator movies and TSCC. Thanks for making fiction interesting again.

As others have said, I hope you are looking at all options along with Warner Bros to
    keep us alive…….

  101. Josh and Company,

Thanks for taking TSCC in such an interesting direction and casting the characters with such interesting actors.

I will really miss this show.

I don’t write on blogs, email executives or write executives letters — but I did for TSCC.

Hopefully you will have a chance to read all the thanks being posted here — because you tried to do something a bit different and you did it well.

There was great sadness across the land…

  102. GOOD BYE CAMERON!!!!! AAAAAHHHH!!!! =(=(=(=(=(=(=(=(==(=(=(

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CczIyw3t5lQ

  103. Thank you for a great show that actually had me watching a series again. I’m so disappointed that there won’t be more–I’ve been missing my weekly fix. It’s like a good book that finishes abruptly–and you just want more. Sigh…. having said that, good luck in all of your future endeavors.

  104. Thanks. I really loved the show. Is there any chance another network can pick it up so that we can pick up on season 3?

  105. @Dan

I don’t care what he said. The fact of the matter is that FOX left us with on unfinished story. I can’t help but feel that Josh is being unreasonable!

  106. Michael Dalsgaard

Im in a bad steam here i followed firefly through it all and luved every moment, and just as i screamed for a new season it got cancelled, initially i saw tscc as a teen soap, and still decided to follow it through, cause each episode kinda made me wan’t to watch the next, ending in the final of season 2, making me scream for season 3, i just recon now i will have to immagine just exactly what part of humanity the cyborg summer glau plays actually has and why, and how she would have affectet john connor to become the leader he is in terminator four.

I just can’t help thinking what a massive failure fox is gonna end on doing, as terminator 4 would have increase the viewers by atleast 30% after the terminator 4 movie, and those 30% would have spread the words, and increased the sales of the previous 2 episodes (asumeing the season 3 would have happened).

Yes i know im biased from europe so my viewings have been rather limitet in regards to live views, but killing a show like tscc is prolly not the brightest idea before the follow up movie for terminator 3.

Then agin come to think of it, in the final of season 2 sarah connor her self actually stop taking a actual part of the series, wich should really have hintet the season would stop there.

Anyhow really hope summer glau has a better steam soon, she is truely a magnificent actor, and one im sure alot can identify with (tho im still baffled how anyone goes from balet to acting but we all make our choices during life).

I will look forward to a TSCC round up movie if im any bit as lucky as with the Serenity movie :p

    Regards
    Michael Dalsgaard

  107. Thank you so much for giving us this show! This show is what got me into the whole
“Terminator” franchise and I love every single part of it. I loved this show and I hate to see it go, but I bet there will be many more shows and movies to come!

To Josh, the crew and the actors, thank you so much for your time. You all did a great job putting this show together and I will be watching for you all in other movies and shows :)

    Thanks again,
    Anna, 14

  108. Thanks for two amazing seasons of television, and I know that I will pop in my DVDs more than often. Even though the show is gone, I still hope the story can be continued somehow: DVD movies, comic books, novels…. -hint hint-.

  109. it’s been a hell of a ride. thank you. :)

  110. Thanks for the good times, Josh. I guess it was one of those things.

If you promise to tell us how it was all going to end, I promise I’ll buy the second season CD.

    Hang in there baby.

    Regards
    Mark Draughn

  111. I’ve been thinking about this for going on 24 hours now since I first heard. It’s tragic, it’s sad, and the worst part is it’s expected.

Guys - do not blame Josh for giving up, or anyone on the staff. The Terminator franchise (or at least this branch of it) is owned by the WB. I’m no expert, but from what I’ve read, the WB has to be the ones to shop the show around on other networks, the WB has to be the one that believes in the property, and the WB has to tell Josh to start writing again if they want him to do it. You can write SciFi or sign petitions, but ultimately, the WB would have to be told that this franchise is viable for sales, and the numbers they were getting aren’t very convincing for TV - though direct to DVD might work, and if the WB is open to that alternative, we should definitely bandwagon it.

If anyone from TSCC wants us to write the WB - now’s the time to post and give us someone to contact. Anyone at all.

In the meantime, I’d really like to thank Hadley for such an amazing job at this blog, and thank everyone from Josh down to the key grips for their hard work. This show was a labor of love, and you felt it in every episode. You made us think, you made us laugh, you made us cry, and for that above all else, myself and all my friends will very much miss your show. I hope we do get to ‘do this again’.

    –Your loyal fan in VA.

  112. After reading of the cancellation, I watched T2 for the 50th time or so, and there were never as much tears as this time.
Thank you for those great 2 seasons, to all people involved with TSCC, especially the fans.

    The war is not over!
Let’s fight for something positive to happen.

  113. Loved this show, despite a few second season glitches. Fantastic finale, but I did wonder how they were going to possibly come back from that! Would love to have seen how, but the writing seemed on the wall.

Anyone else find that FOX guy’s comments really condescending “nice little run.”
    Prat.

  114. Thanks to everyone who made this show possible. I guess WB isn’t shopping around anymore but can a DVD movie be made? R.I.P Sarah Connor, you will be missed. This was a bad day, bad day.

  115. When I contemplate at all the moronic crap there is on television, and then see T/SCC get cancelled, I can only shake my head in dismay at what America has become. Anything that makes sense, has an outstanding, well-written storyline and quality acting, hasn’t a chance to succeed in this society. The masses want fat slobs paraded in front of them. They want idiots without talent to make fools of themselves on the small screen. So that’s what the TV moguls feed them. Collectively, we’ve brought it upon ourselves. Individually, our voices are drowned out by the mobs who require their hourly doses of stupidity, insulting language and degrading, vulgar, profane, sexual escapades. The canned laughter is no longer funny, if it ever was. Instead, it is a reminder of what happens when people lose track of REALITY by watching and demanding non-REALITY programming. We are up to our noses in programming excrement, and another wave is approaching.

Josh, all the writers, and the cast and crew of T/SCC put together a series of incredible depth and sophistication; something people can be proud of, something with high entertainment value and capacity to make people think. Perhaps that was their downfall. Sad, isn’t it?

Especially pleasing, were the performances of Lena Headey, beautiful beyond words; Brian Austin Green, whose death still reverberates inside my skull; Garret Dillahunt, whose poolside stare-down with Richard T. Jones has to rank as one of the most chilling scenes ever filmed for television, I’ll never forget his expression; Leven Rambin, who had the decency and courage to communicate with her fans on this very blog, (she is a stunning actress by the way); Shirley Manson, who I truly love and adore, proved herself capable of doing ANYTHING she puts her mind to, stole scene after scene with her fantastic looks and talent; and of course, Summer Glau, who became the most popular actress in all of the entertainment world by her portrayal of a machine. Summer made me believe….that fantasy can be real….that you could fall in love with a fictional character. In my lifetime, I’ll never see another performance by a man or woman to equal the style, grace and beauty of Summer Glau as the Terminator. Perhaps Snake will agree. These people, all of them, breathed life into the magic created by Josh and the writers. Thank you, each and every one of you. You will be missed.

Thanks to the fans who showed up every day to comment. Thanks, Dan for being the ringleader. I loved reading everybody’s stuff.

Thanks,Hadley for keeping the dream alive, and communicating.

I hope to see every actor back in action in another adventure, another yarn, very soon. Each of you has placed the bar very high; too high I fear for those that come after you.

I hope to see you all in the future, the future that is not set; where anything can happen and where anything is possible.

    Best wishes.

  116. What kinda traitor bullshit is this friedman

you’re going to give up, Just like that? Just because Kevin Riley said no?

I mean I know this is just a tv show but, Take so _ ing pride in your work man.
if fox said no then look for another outlet. you owe everyone that campaigned for this show everytime it was on the ropes at least that much.

or maybe if you just want to move on and go cold turkey without a fight then maybe it’s a good thing that mcg is taking it from here.

  117. We could have them do a finger puppet theater of Season 3… original cast voices… American made finger puppets! LOL!

Hopefully, it’s better than this! He he he! ;)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ06RKGcPBI

  118. Thanks for all, Josh.

We’ll all miss Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

  119. Thank you Josh, Ash, Summer, Thomas, Brian, Lena and everyone else who had a role in the development of this brilliant show. Thank you for giving me the best 31 episodes of TV I watched in my entire life.

With lumps in my throat, I am writing this message and truly hope that someday into the future, I’ll be able to watch another season of TSCC.

  120. Well even after this slap in the face by Fox, nobody has to stay strangers!

I guess we could all Twitter or better yet, e-mail…

    http://www.twitter.com/Terminator_DanH

Keep in touch, you crazy bunch of Terminator fans, you! :D

This does not have to be the end of our correspondence!

  121. I may have left out Thomas Dekker, but only because the thought of Summer Glau scrambles my mind.
Thomas went beyond the role of John Connor, to become the legend. I know, at this very instant, he’s working somewhere in the future to rearrange things in the past so that T/SCC gets a third season. I have absolutely no doubt that he will succeed.

Next time, Thomas, I expect you to kiss Cameron. I don’t think she’d mind.

  122. Because there are soo many other great shows in the Fox lineup for that timeslot., wow. What short term thinking. Your’e cancelled Fox.

  123. Please tell me you’re going to be shopping the show around to other networks like Scifi or SyFy, whatever the heck they want to call themselves these days. Don’t go quietly into that good night Josh!!

  124. Thank you Josh, these past two seasons have been the most amazing I’ve ever seen on TV (or in the theater for that matter). It really has been unforgettable for my whole family. The end of the second season finished with some “cliffhangers” but I think from a characters standpoint it wrapped up decently given all things considered. I am super depressed that TSCC was cancelled, but I thought the last episode was amazing regardless. Although now I can’t help but wonder what would have happened had Terminator fans not tuned into Dollhouse out of support for the Friday Night lineup. Its funny how things work, and I suppose we’ll see how Dollhouse does next season. Nothing against the show, but without Terminator next to it, I really don’t have a reason to watch it personally. I suppose I’ll have to take heart that not all of the shows I liked were cancelled. Still, me = sad. Thank you again Josh!

  125. I *know* it’s been said that we’ll never find out what season 3 would have been… but, I really hope there is some way for us to find out what the writers’ intentions were for the big unanswered questions (you know, all the Cameron mystery…).

So, not necessarily what the future would have entailed, but an explication of the *past*, of characters’ motives

It would be such a fantastic reward for us devoted, passionate fans.
It would be such a great change from the frustrating lack of closure we fans of complex, brilliant shows so often suffer from…

  126. Love this article with a quote from Kevin Reilly that he would have gotten “110 million emails” had he cancelled Dollhouse. Do you think we can send him 110 emails now as SCC fans? I sent mine earlier today. Will it do anything? Probably not. Will it make the five year old in me feel better for sticking my tongue out at FOX? Maybe - lol! Hey, I gotta have some dark humor here! :) Argh…

    http://scifiwire.com/2009/05/fox-execs-explain-why-the.php

  127. Josh and crew,

You guys should be proud. You produced a show that was the quality of a blockbuster movie chopped into 43 minute segments. While the show may not found its 10 million member audience, many still think that Fox could have put the show on a better day than Friday where most people go out in the evenings. Perhaps many of the DVR’rs would have been able to watch live. The other thing is that other shows have taken a couple of seasons to get off the ground and find their audience. Fox should have given it one last chance and moved it to a better day than Friday being that T4 is coming out in 3 days and could help inspire more viewers for the show.

Anyhow, it is going to take many of the fans a while to get over this. This is because many recognize the real treasure that this show was. Perhaps there could be at least a 2 hour movie or something to at least bring proper closure.

You guys put together a masterpiece of a show period. One last thing Josh: thank you for making Christianity a positive thing in the show where it is mocked elsewhere. It was one of the things that got me hooked in the first place and you used it in a cool way to tie in to the Terminator story line. Blessings to all crew in future endeavors…

  128. Thanks to all the cast and crew of TSCC for 2 seasons of great tv.

But the fat lady cant of sung, Farscape got a mini series, Firefly got a movie, Dark Angel got 3 novels and the list goes on. There has got to be something we cant do to get the rest of the story out. This cant be the end it just cant be.

Maybe syndiacation the show is airing in the UK,Austraila, France, Germany, just to name a few. There has got to be another way to get the job done.

  129. Many, many thanks for everyone who was involved with Terminator: SCC. It is very sad to see it go, especially knowing that FOX never took responsibility for not putting the show in a better slot. Still, it is a show that truly did it all and I’m grateful for at least having the two seasons we did. Long live T:SCC!

  130. Josh - Thank you. We are all left with what might have been. It’s just the nature of the beast. I count myself a Josh Friedman fan, and I will continue to support your future projects. You did good. You did fantastic. You raised the bar. Unfortunately, most viewers will have to appreciate that in retrospect.

Do not second-guess yourself. You are the future of the medium, although it may not seem like that today. Your show inspired its fans like very few others.

Fox made a business decision today - but the artistic triumph is yours forever.

    Logan

  131. Thank you for the awesome show. I was really thinking that Fox would keep you around especially with the movie coming out. I think they made a mistake not giving you at least 1/2 season because I think you could have captured a lot of viewers from the movie.

I hope you all fare well in other projects, thanks again for making such a wonderful show.

  132. That sux! I loved T:SCC. I never cared about Terminator until I started watching this show. Now, I consider myself a die-hard Terminator fan. Thank you for the opportunity t ofall in love with a “new” story. I wish that T:SCC was still going; it had so much potential. But…now I will never watch Fox because they cancel the best shows and leave the bad ones. The Cleveland Show, really?

    See ya on DVD, T:SCC!

    Kristi

  133. I hope TSCC can get a miniseries or a couple of DVD movies, so the story of Sarah Conner can be completed. I hate FOX.

  134. I’m gonna vote with my channel converter, and delete all Fox affiliates from my channel selection. Screw you fox.

  135. Thank you JF, and everyone involved for bringing us this awesome show. I am sorry that we could not bring it back. It continues to inspire me and my work. I wish you all the best in the future.

  136. I was very sad to hear this news. Thanks so much to everyone, including FOX, who gave us two seasons of the greatest series and the greatest acting on television. Now please, please, please is there anyone that can insure that the second season gets released on blue-ray?

  137. Thanks to all the cast and crew for a fantastic and thought-provoking show full of excellent writing, acting and action.

However I think this shows very little class from fox studies. I think it should be policy that when shows are cancelled when the finale is a cliffhanger, they should offer the fans a deal and say they will give it a few episodes (say even just 3) to finish it off somewhat properly if the fans are willing to partially fund it. With the worldwide fanbase i’m sure everyone would be willing to chip in say $10/person and probably end up buying the dvds as well. think about it. there were 20 million votes for summer glau as favourite tv actress (the population of australia i might add) so if we say there’s at least 20 million TSCC fans worldwide and $10 each that’s $200 million for a few episodes right there. I trust that’s enough plus the follow up dvd sales.
If they did this regularly to finish off shows they would get a lot less hatred from the fans and people would actually be able to watch shows without fear that it’s going to be pulled at anytime and never get a real ending.

Anyway, that’s my rant. If by some miniscule chance anyone from fox gives this a read, you really should consider it for future shows. Costs you nothing, you could do it off season as well so you wouldn’t have to move any of your other shows, and it would make you look a lot less like “the big bad wolf” to fans and stop all the drama. Just a few episodes-that’s it. THINK ABOUT IT.

  138. If I had to sum it up in one word:

    FRACK!

Thanks Josh and to the cast and crew, (and of course Summer!) for putting out such a great show with confidence and passion. It was the ONLY show I would make time for.

… I was really looking forward to season III, so hope another network picks it up or we get TSCC: The Movie!

    Later Terminator…

  139. Thanks to everyone involved with making this show.

When I watched BTR I thought it was brilliant what you did — you left John Connor in the sweetest spot possible, in the arms of his dad, uncle, and Allison (we assume), but you also left the story wide open for a possible S3 just in case.

But in spite of that genius ending I now still feel left hanging because I was fooled and actually did believe you would get renewed.

So please just stay open minded about a 2 hour movie, direct to DVD, anything with these actors playing these roles so that going into it we will know, “okay, this is the final chapter.” Of course obviously the John Connor story never ‘ends,’ but another collaboration with this group would give S1 and S2 a sense of completeness with a feeling of intention and purpose that is lacking now.

I know everyone involved will soon blow to the four winds, and we should not have false hope, but please just remain open to the possibilies because it would be a special, most beautiful thing.

  140. Thank you, Josh.

  141. Thank you to the cast and crew.

But we still need to know what they intended to happen after…how can you walk away from something like this and leave us with so many unanswered questions??

    Please…give us something.

I’ll miss this show for a long time.

  142. I just deleated my season pass of TSCC it was one of the sadest things to have to do. I also deleated dollhouse since I wont be watching fox anymore. I cant catch dollhouse on the torrents and fox gets nothing.

  143. Thank YOU! and the crew and cast for an amazing season and a half! Best of luck in all that you all do! Will try to catch you guys next time ’round.

  144. I know no one will ever read all of this underneath the hoards of comments (Fox that should tell you something).

This show was excellent. One of the best shows I have seen, especially of the Sci Fi genre. I think the nuance of the storytelling threw me (and many), but like any intricate work of art, it gets better on closer inspection.

I am disappointed, but not disheartened. Too many shows actually stay on the air too long. The finale served the series’ story almost too well. It wrapped everything up in a way that leaves me wondering, but not confused. With the “family” split, and no Cameron, I do not think it could be the same show. There is a tendency to push TV shows past the point of good storytelling, and I am glad this one ended gracefully.

Lena - I was really impressed by how well she developed the character over the two seasons. I hope someone realizes how good of an actor she is.
Summer - Always amazing. As the saying goes, I’d watch her read the phonebook.
Brian - Added a very cool edge to the show.
Dekker - I enjoyed watching John Baum become John Connor. I don’t think I realized what was going on, until it was explained in an episode, and I wish I had gotten to see more of Dekker as John Connor. But still an A+ performance.

Thank you for an excellent show!

  145. Thanks to everyone involved, cast and crew for making what I think is the best television show to be on the air in years. I’m definitely going to get Season 2 on DVD when it comes out and like Season 1 watch them over and over again.

As far as FOX goes however I have to agree with those who have said they are done with the network. Sadly this is not the first nor even the second time the network has cancelled a good scifi/fantasy show well before its time, it is however the saddest considering the efforts put towards showing fan support of the show and the all around quality of the program. As much as I will miss both TSCC and the fan community, I can’t say I am going to miss watching FOX as this happens every time they have a decent show.

  146. Perhaps Fox took the movie into consideration after all http://tinyurl.com/dbn86n

  147. The worst part seems to be that Friedman doesn’t care; he should be rallying the troops, telling us its never over, etc. Instead he seems more ready to move on than any one fan. I don’t know about everyone else I feel betrayed. We can make as much noise as we want but unless the people behind the show are with us then it really is futile.
Thats why Firefly got Serenity, because Joss Whedon never gave up. Again, very disappointed in Friedman.

(BTW the DVD movie idea will never happen because it would be too confusing to the average fan/consumer; IMHO the best we can hope for is a TSCC novel or something and even thats a stretch)

  148. im so sad :(

  149. http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread/2847098/T4+Tickets+for+TSCC

    Taken fromt the wiki:
A more creative idea than solely sending hate mail

    “T4 Tickets for TSCC:
Why dont we all buy Terminator Salvation tickets and send them to Warner Bros telling them the reason we saw the movie was because of TSCC…

To build off that.. whoever you go with, ask them for their ticket. Ask random strangers after the movie for their ticket. Ask the guy at the door if you can have the tickets that they put into the box. Save all the tickets you can collect .. staple them to a piece of paper that says “for Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles” or something like that. or just TSCC or whatever.

If you collect 20 tickets that’s 200 bucks. If you collect 50 that’s 500 bucks. If 50 people do that, it’s $25000 and so on and forth…”

  150. I hate FOX sooooooooo much right now

  151. First, I am VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED and MAD at FOX!!!!!!!!!!! FXXX!!!!
We have won the vote counting thing. Why would they make this stupid decision? Unbelievable!!
I am gonna cut my cable and back to no TV life…

Second, Thank you very very much for all the great casts, staff members of the series!! You guys are the BEST!!! and Good Luck for everything!!

TSCC = Best TV Show Ever!!!!

  152. All good things come to an end. The good die young.

Thank you all for something that could truly make me feel and care. Thank you for the laughter and the tears, thank you for the ache in my heart. I hope for the best future.

Thank you. A part of me died with the Chronicles, yet a part of me lives on, and that part will always remember.

    ~ Dre4mwe4ver

  153. I’m heartbroken. Nothing to look forward to this Fall… not even reruns.

I do think they made this decision a while ago. What show could survive a Friday night? That’s the kiss of death.

Seems they created the show just to set up the movie (which looks awful, by the way) and cancelled it so it wouldn’t detract interest in the movie. Both are produced by Halcyon and Warner Brothers.

Great show… stupid decison to cancel. Okay, I won’t get nastier just because JF asked fans not to.

  154. We have no fight in us and will be stuck forever flipping channels trying to avoid crap like the “No. 1″ shows… all on CBS. Why must we always follow the cheesy masses. I’m sick of it!

  155. One last thing, I bet there are 10 million fans out there. It’s just that not all could tune in on a Friday night and they don’t have Nielsen boxes.

Okay, I’m logging off before I suffer a heart attack!

  156. Mr. JF - Fight to keep the show on TV and keep your vision. James Cameron did that, he fought the execs and got Terminator ending he wanted out of it. And because his vision was on the screen… he had a movie franchise that will not be forgotten.

I bet you all know the story that the execs wanted J. Cameron to go with the ending that tested well with focus groups… the ending that had John Connor becoming a Congressman and “fighting” for our rights. HOW DUMB IS THAT! Cameron held onto his guns and went for the ending we all love.

  157. Write to askfox@fox.com . Doesn’t make sense to talk to each other on how great the show was and how we wished it wasn’t cancelled. Only fans visit this blog!

Let those that make the decisions know about it. Write to askfox@fox.com

  158. @ Seneca: ” and of course, Summer Glau, who became the most popular actress in all of the entertainment world by her portrayal of a machine. You will be missed.”

I couldn’t agree more and couldn’t have said it better. Her performances are what I will miss the most.

@ Kea: Are you okay out there I haven’t seen a post from you all day?

As for the Reilly clown, I have a thought. Lets do this the same way we did the polls. Lets not just send him a load of emails once, Lets keep voting and send those votes to his email day after day after day. He’ll either get the message or change his address. We need to teach this guy a lesson.

  159. What a sad day, can’t believe Fox cancelled TSCC

    WHY??,

There has to be at least a TV movie or direct to dvd, season 2 finale is fantastic, one of the best hours of television, i´ve ever seen
I do have to say thanxs again to you Josh, for your vision to the superb cast and everybody involved,
but there has to be some kind of resolution FU%$&%#CK im so pissed off
dont let it die please, !!!!!!!!!
    other network someway

  160. Gosh, I feel like when I was standing at the McCain headquarters in AZ while Obama was winning the election. That sucky of a feeling…

  161. OH , god, just sad, and angry, sorry Josh can’t help it

    But you guys Rock!!!!
Intelligent, powerful, i feel proud to be fan of a show like that
To the writers, thanx for all the great moments, hell yeah even for the three crazy dots,
And the actors are all remarkable.

Thomas you´re such a talented crazy actor thanxs for that last episode, thnxs for your John Connor, Summer we love you!!! Lena will you marry me ?(damn, you are married)
Josh thanxs for this great time, for speaking t us in the good and bad times,
everybody in TSCC cast and crew feel proud people cause you did an amazing show,

but again dont let us like this so…. empty
must be someone to do anything with this, we will support anything you guys give us
sad sad, sad, looking foward for the season 2 dvd release

  162. You know, i rarely watch TV live, its not that i care about the commercials, its i just don’t care to be strung along, give me Season 1 packaged up and spend a day watching. I watched TSCC live, would have to be home to see it, loved that show, uncertain about where it was going, and i think that the producers try to play to much to the audience in the 2nd season not really going with their gut. But I didn’t want to see it canceled, I loved this show and for all it was. Going to miss Summer too, hopefully won’t have to watch any more Mammoth/Witch Sorority movies to catch up with her. Any way, what about Sci-Fi Channel, they had a decent budget for SG-1, you can’t tell me they couldn’t do it.

Further, knowing the show was in danger, you owe us something for that last episode, something to put together the pieces. Just a storyboard, or an interview, “well i was thinking this”. You string us like this, and no payoff, I will NEVER watch anything you do again. Because that wasn’t right, you did wrap up the little stories, but to do that at the end. nah, you have to say something.

BTW thanks to everyone for making the show, Terminator is Americana and plenty of fond memories, from first discovering it on late night HBO this metal robot chasing a woman through a factory, to Allison from Palmdale showing up and petting the dog. Good run, I think Ya’ll did it right

  163. sad. but appreciative to have had such a good show to follow at least for its short run. thanks to josh and everyone else involved with the show. except fox for not seeing/recognizing what we all see.

    sad.

  164. Amongst the charred concrete are scatter fragments of once familiar surroundings.
The faint sound of a piano playing in the distance carried by the arid air. I painfully
exit the fading time bubble to a place that held many the hearts of the resistance.
But to my sadness, nothing. The haunting melody of a piano fades as my memories do. A lost leader, a fallen soldier. Memories I will retain. A mother to the resistance
and an impossible love lost in time. Brothers never reunited and a revoltion that
unfolds unto itself. Perhaps in another time the Chronicles continue, but this timeline
has been terminated. These are not the Chronicles I know. Rather, these are the Chronicles that should have been. I stop to regard my surroundings. Such a place with once a vibrant future now lost to the void of futility. Crying I hear in the distance of many. Anger forges our steel. The resistance still continues. But to what end??? The piano is much louder now. I do not have much time. I open the door………

“I know you” “and I know you”

    We can not self terminate

Thank you Josh for all your work.

  165. So bummed the show got cancelled but at the same time I’m glad that it was such a strong series and that it was actually allowed to air in the first place.
    Wonderful writing and cast.
The passion in this whole project is obviously evident, and could have been a disaster in other hands.
I think this will be a series that people will look back and realized what they missed out on.
    A truly inspiring run.
Thanks Josh, and everyone who worked on it.
    Going to really miss it.

  166. !!

    Dammit! Just…. !! AAARGH!

Well… It seems you’ve given up on it Josh, so I won’t fight for it anymore either. But
I do want to say thanks for these wonderful two seasons. No disrespect to Joss Whedon (he did make firefly after all), but dollhouse bored me to death and I stopped watching several episodes ago. T:SCC made me watch tv again. Some good writing there JF, even if it was controversial at times.

And also a huge thanks to Lena, Summer and Thomas for giving life to three wonderful characters. Especially you Summer, Cameron was great!! And as for Shirley, I hope you don’t give up on acting completely!

It was fun while it lasted….

  167. i would like to say a big thank you to josh for makeing one of the best shows on tv.shame fox dose not see thar way.thank you to summer thomas and lena for there role we alllove them and they will always have a specail place in my heart.hope we see them very soon.and may its not the end of the show ?rember fireflymaybe we can get something out of this as well .this is not the end were all still fighting for what we belive in and we belive in you.

  168. Moin, moin !

    Well, it’s all sa(i)d…

    GREAT show
    SUPERB actors/actresses
    EXCELLENT writing
    PERFECT, plain an simple

I really love this piece of TV history !

What do you think? How long will DOLLHOUSE last on FOX?
Just the next season? Only a few episodes of season 2?
I bet, it’ll be cancelled very soon!

    A very disappointed fan

  169. Thanks for the note, Josh. You and the writers, the cast and the crew did an amazing job with the show. You made me care about a TV show again, which is something I can’t say I’ve done since…well…I can’t remember. TSCC was much more than just a TV show. I’ll just keep this short and say thank you everyone.

  170. I had a bad feeling all weekend when I heared FOX renewed Dollhouse.

I’m full of sadness that TSCC wasn’t renewed.

I’ve already wished my best to the cast and crew. I hope we can here more about our favorite scifi family in the future.

    Best wishes in the future.

    The Zadokite

  171. Shame on FOX. I hate them now.

Thanks to the TSCC crew! Guys, you made the best show. Thank you very much!

  172. Sorry to hear the show canceled, at least it gives Fox another reality show to put in it’s place. When it comes down to it, I’m done with Fox, you guys save Dollhouse which is the most retarded premise for a show EVER, but cancel a show that was finally hitting it’s stride.

Thanks for nothing Fox! Now that Prison Break is done with there’s no reason for me to stay with your channel.

  173. You are correct, Pete.

Everyone - send your comments to askfox@fox.com! After all, they do ask viewers to send their questions or comments on shows to that address. They want us to know what we think - we think they shouldn’t have canceled the show, we’re done with them, show needs a different time slot, etc. Let’s let them know. TV is made for us… the viewers.

  174. Fox sucks.

Let us know what you do next, Josh.

  175. Thank you for the great show! I loved every second of it.

I still think, TV studios are stupid not streaming their shows via internet to the international audience with advertisement.

They should move with the time, but probably they are stupid old men living in the past, not even knowing what that Internets is.

People, who would watch the show on TV, they watch anyway. Those, who wouldn’t watch it, they wouldn’t anyway. But those, who are watching on the net, they don’t count and I think, that group is the main supportive group for every show, but they are ignored first.

I wouldn’t mess around with Bittorrent, if I would have a place to go and watch the show streamed in a good quality even with ads.

Ads can be sold also for international audience, because McDonalds is everywhere, Microsoft is everywhere, and almost all big companies are. People, like me, who are watching TV shows in english even from other countries, they would understand the Ads too.

    Stupid, stupid FOX!

TSCC the second best show ever (sorry…LOST remains always first :-P )

  176. What is that Dollhouse BS anyway?
Probably a stupid “how-I-Kill-People-in-a-most-possibly-splatter-horror-way” kind of krimi-shit, which makes stupid kids shoot their scool to a pile of bloody flesh. Very smart.

I watched the promo and I hated it from the first second. I don’t wanna see it!

  177. Josh - what a great show!! i’m sad to see it leave. Do you have any plans to tell us what was going to happen and if not - PLEASE TELL US WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  178. Josh,

Please don’t give up! We still have some hope!

SyFy said there is a chance they pick up TSCC!

    Look for Craigatscifi at twitter.

So Resistance listen up! Send mail to SyFy to persuade them :)

  179. Josh:
“I know a lot of you are angry about the cancellation and want to find a place to direct your anger and to that I say do yourself a favor and find a way to move past it. ”

Nope, I’m gonna be angry at you. Your creative decisions bled audience from this show all through Season 2. If we had stayed stead at 7 million viewers on Monday nights, we’d have a show again next season.

“And certainly there are those who did not like what we did and had their own vision for what a Terminator TV show should be. It’s easy to look at low ratings or cancellation as “failure” and for those who believe we’ve gone about this all wrong I’m sure today’s news will only serve to confirm a world view that I would never try to change. ”

Oh my God, here we go again. Blaming the audience for not liking your show, just like with the blog that started the back nine.

Here’s a tip for you for next time, Josh. Next time, when trying to create a show for a majority male audience, and trying to identify get to identify with a female protagonist, stop making references to pregnancy, childbirth, “my boobs got huge”. Basically stuff that men can’t possibly identify with. Believe it or not, some of us can empathise with a woman, but not with this aspect of her. Honestly, I wouldn’t have been surprised if Sarah and one of her gal-pals on the show had started talking about their cramps or something. Half the second season looked like a goddamn tampon commercial.

We want to identify with characters on the show, but look what you did. You emphasized the aspects of Sarah we can’t identify with. You emasculated John so we couldn’t identify with him. You had Cameron who we could identify with (a fish out of water in the human-relations world, for us nerds), but you ignored her for half the season and then killed her out of spite. We had Derek, a likeable masculine character, and you ignored him and killed him off out of spite too!

Oh yeah, another way to make your male audience uncomfortable. Have a transgendered person show up. Just for kicks.

Plus you didn’t move the Caleda plot forward one tick until the last four episodes. Plus you barely moved the Zeira/Weaver/Ellison plot forward until the last four.
Plus you made us spend an entire episode at a funeral.

  180. SiFi isn’t the last chance, it’s not even the best chance.

Have The Halcyon Conpany set up a(n annual ’subscrition based’) website.

Produce new episodes of T:SCC, and post them there for download.

Let us pay you directly for them.

No network fools involved, or needed.

  181. Should have been ‘Company” of course…

Come one, you write Science Fiction.
This idea of producing *content for direct download* is the future.
Take a chance, and have faith in your fans.
Hell, set up the website and let us register for a month or two, to measure interest.
I’d bet you’ld get enough folks to make it worthwhile to produce an new episode every month.

  182. yeah, I know.
    my spelling blows chunks…

  183. I will severely miss this show and my love for it, the cast and crew will never change. Although I would rather see a live action season 3 with our beloved actors, could you guys at least have season 3 released in comic book form? Or even direct to DVD movies? The tv series may have ended, but I think your great story telling of this franchise should live on, even if in another form than what you originally intended.

I have one other request.. Please keep the TSCC cast on your speed dial.. They are amazing actors and I think it would be foolish of you to not use them again. :)

  184. I am fully grateful for T:SCC. The writers, the cast and crew gave us some of the best TV moments to ever exist. This is no exaggeration.
I understand that you need to keep good relationships with FOX. I don’t have such a need. If I had to pick one single mistake by FOX I’d point out to the completely incompetent way the show was promoted. It aimed to attract the viewer interested by non-stop action and sex while the show greatest strengths were mystery, drama and characters development. Those who could have liked it were repelled by the ads and those others who were looking for kick ass action and sex had not enough of the first and next to none of the second so they didn’t stay.

I have little hope that the moron, there is no other word, who imagined the promo for the show is now living from free soup and sleeps at the shelter.

  185. @Josh: I can’t believe I almost forgot! Please keep Bear McCreary on your speed dialer as well as the cast and crew for TSCC. Bear’s music was every bit as part of the heart and soul of the show as everyone else involved. His music was more than a compliment to the show and it was beautiful. I hope you also work with Bear again in your future endeavers.

  186. @aurum1:

AGREED! While everyone else is kissing Josh’s butt you have said what desperately needed to be said. Josh bears a huge part of the responsibility for this cancellation. While he redeemed himself in the last few episodes it was too little too late. A major chunk of the audience had already moved on. You can’t come back from a hiatus with your 3 most boring episodes (including a F%^*&ing funeral) and expect anyone other than the die hard fanatics to continue to absorb the punishment.

And then there is Fox. For them to claim they gave this show a chance is absolute BS. A short 1st season followed by an interupted 2nd season and a shift to the graveyard timeslot on Friday night is hardly giving it a chance. Couple that with one of the most moronic ad campaigns ever done and you had the recipe for failure. Hell, we’ve seen right here than some of the fans put together better trailers than the supposed pros. With the talent that this show had in writers and performers they aforementioned individuals had to work at screwing it up. So before we heap too much praise let’s give credit where credit is due, both good and bad.

To the cast, writers, set designers et. al, you were amazing, thank you for one of the best shows ever put on television. We all wish it hadn’t ended this way

  187. Wow, I’m completely bummed!!!!!! I just want to start out by saying that this show was awesome - finally a show that was thought provoking as well as action packed.

I am not an avid TV watcher - it was the middle of the first season when I actually turned the TV on (which I never do) and caught the show - I was hooked. I found all the previous episodes online that I had missed and watched them immediately - I had never done that before. I even bought the entire season 1 on DVD to rewatch before season 2 started - I’ve never done that before either. When season 2 started, I actually found the website and began to BLOG about the show - I had never done that before either. Is there a trend here - yes. I am a non TV junkie and I was totally blown away by this show. I looked forward to it from week to week. I was not watching because I had a crush on any of the characters or that I’m a doomsday fanatic - I watched because the writing, the acting and the sequence of the show was awesome! So with that said, thanks to all the hard work by everyone that worked on the show, and best of luck to each of you in the future.

As for watching the other shows currently running on FOX or the other networks - No Thanks. My TV is back off except for watching CNN.

    It’s a sad day!

  188. I’m enormously grateful for GOOD WOUND and DESERT CANTOS. Those are the two scripts that convinced Fox to reverse their earlier cancellation and bring back the show after the front 13. In my book, that makes them directly responsible for all the goodness that came our way in the back nine. For that reason, I wouldn’t trade them for the world, even if I hadn’t enjoyed them as much as I did. I think that’s one of the marvels of this show: who would have thought that a tale based on robot serial killers from the future could tell so many different types of stories? There were a lot of bright people making this show wonderful. I’m really glad I got past the Terminator brand and gave it a chance.

To Mr. Josh Friedman — you’re a champ in my book. I loved this show so much. Please make sure you give us a way to stay in the loop with what you’re doing. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

  189. @snake

Thanks! There has been way too much pro-Josh cheerleading here.

I agree with you that the plot movement forward was confined to the last four episodes. What angered me about that was that there was so much story to be told, and so many ideas to be explored, with the ideas generated in those last four episodes. There was no need to stagnate the show and the plot momentum mid-season with the Sarah stuff. Heck, you could have even done split-plot episodes, with half of them following Crazy Sarah and the other half actually moving the plot forward.

Honestly, the show lost me right about when Cromartie got shot in the head. That was when the Cromartie plot ended (and a great end it was). But nothing replaced that thread. Cromarties death should have IMMEDIATELY moved to the introduction of Caleda. John Henry should have been exposed to Skynet at the start of the back-nine.

But you were too clever for your own damn good, weren’t you, Josh? You had to keep the reveal that John Henry isn’t Skynet until the last possible second. I waited all f—ing season to see what Ellison would do when he finds out Shirley Manson is a terminator. And what did I get. A look. A single f—-ing look.

I believe Nyccine said it on the Terminator Wiki forums better than I could:

“This was a good episode that, yet again, saw Josh Friedman try and turn into some “ohhh, nobody will see this coming, I’m so God-damned clever!” bullshit. NOBODY LIKES THIS SHIT JOSH, BECAUSE YOU *ARE NOT* CLEVER, AND THAT IS WHY CRITICS HATED THE BLACK DAHLIA, AND WHY YOUR SHOW DOESN’T HAVE MORE THAN 3.5 MILLION VIEWERS, YOU GOD-DAMNED IDIOT!

There is no way to step back from what was done and maintain any sort of integrity. Everything the audience has invested in for two seasons is gone now, tossed aside like so much dross, and there’s no way to bring it back in a manner that anyone can ever believe, however much we might hope it could. As a new direction to the future of the series, we should thank our lucky stars it won’t be back; as an ending to a promising, yet unfortunately fataly flawed, show, it’s a travesty. ”

Oh yeah. As an added bonus.
    1. What happened in the basement?
    2. Why did Shirley Manson change her mind about joining forces with John Connor?

Guess we’ll never find out. Thanks for nothing.

  190. This is the price of having a brain: you’re in the minority.

For the Sarah Connor story, now it’s up to fanfic and user-generated.

  191. Thank you Josh for the great show! There was deep meaning making the man to think about his destiny, chooses and the different paths where he go - the path of his Live.
Good luck to everybody in your professional and personal live and who knows one day we could meet again, thank you!

  192. @Larrodan. Is this true? Or is it just more wishfull thinking?

  193. Ray, as much as the optimist in me wants to say Yay to that news, the part of me that is grounded in reality says that chances are, that story is BS. The “insider” couldn’t provide any concrete reasons why Fox may want to renew it somewhere down the line, so that tells me right there that this “insider” is either trying to give us false hope or doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. But then again, Sarah Connor always was about hope… let’s try to move on and cope with the news of the cancelation— hard as I know it is— and just keep holding on to a small amount of hope that TSCC can pull a Family Guy eventually and defy all odds.

  194. TSCC was the thing that kept me interested in Terminator franchise. I am not even sure if I’ll go to watch the T:Salvation. What’s the point? According to trailers it is certainly worse than T1, T2 and TSCC. Just a pack of action without an idea.

    Shame on FOX once more.

  195. T:TSCC was an AMAZING show. We had a great run! THANK YOU for giving us such an amazing show!! You never know, another network could pick s up or FOX could maybe renew it one day. :] Sad to see it go but we must keep the hope alive. :]

  196. So I went to the premiere of T:Salvation last night and it was great. All of you Terminator fans should go see it. The theater was jammed and Terminator fans were out in force. I think this movie will, and hope, do great and make a ton of money. Flyers were posted all over the walls saying, “join the resistance,” logos of the resistance and such. One thought kept going through my head and that was simply, why would you NOT RENEW THIS SHOW FOR AT LEAST HALF A SEASON!. It just does not make sense, a half season would have been worth a gamble to take advantage of Salvation and the fans it would have brought to this show on top of the existing fans. Such a waste, I hope the FoX execs go out to the theater to see Salvation this weekend and when the place is packed I want them to look around and see all the potential viewers they could have gained by making a smart decision. Anyways this is all we Terminator fans will have for some time so I urge you all to go out and see it, was great.

  197. I’am so sad, my favorit show is over…. :((

Josh and the cast and writers, thank you so much!!!

Go to Sci-Fi … TSCC is the best show ever made!!

    FANS: —-> NO FATE !!!!!

    Post from hungary…

  198. If there is any chance that the story is true (that there is still hope) then what have we got to lose by attacking Fox in force? We can start a relentless email campaign that lasts for months. We can drown out all other email streams to Fox until they relent. I say if there is hope we should act. If others agree I’m up for the challenge.

  199. Just like a number of people in this blog, I would never ever have thought that I might possibly find myself expressing my support to a TV show in a blog and that I would actually be sad, very sad, because of it being cancelled.

TSCC was a work of art and therefore it was bound to “fail” on the market. For a show like this will certainly attract a hard-core fan-base: People who are looking for philosophical and psychological insights into characters and their development. People who read books. Just think of how you linked Sarah’s fight against her personal judgement day (cancer) with her fight against the universal judgement day. Or the two opposing families integrating machines and humans. Or the hidden question of whether it is worth to save humankind, if the feat can only be achieved by becoming inhuman, thereby destroying the genuine human trait of love and mercy…
In my opinion the show has all the traits of great American story-telling: Steinbeckian, I would argue. But this is the reason, why it could never attract a 10-million audience: It was simply too intelligent for the average viewer. I guess, there is a trade-off between being able to satisfy the rather simple needs of a majority and appealing to a small and intellectual audience: You are going to lose one of them, whatever you do. Its either the Roxy Bisquaints or the Aurum1s you’re going to alienate. I am happy you chose to alienate the latter.

Thank you for a wonderful show to the crew: You created something unique, so do not care about what the majority now thinks - time will set things right. The Athenians executed Socrates on one day and then erected a statue of him. The daily changing taste of the majority is nothing to be esteemed to highly.

  200. What else can I say?

Thank you Josh, cast, and crew for making this show more than just a show, and for giving me and millions of others something we can always remember with pride. My sincerest gratitude to you all.

    No fate,
    Rachel Pruitt

  201. http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/smg-by-the-numbers-terminator.html

seeing that on yahoo stung when they mentioned Fox didnt renew it -.-

the more I think about it, Im pretty sure Dollhouse and Tscc were up for that last spot and Dollhouse got it over us :/

  202. Just read this…

    http://www.fmqinc.com/summer-glau-terminator/

    Makes sense to me.

  203. Dollhouse is an all FOX show, don’t forget it, while T:SCC is WB first, FOX being only the main client.

  204. Dollhouse did get it over us. And the worst part is that it’s a DUMB show. Flood Fox’s servers and ask to get the show back askfox@fox.com

Didn’t Star Trek Generations get cancelled right before the movie came out? They’re doing the same think right now.

Come on! Why must we follow the lame masses. If we always allow shows like these to get cancelled, we’ll never get anything good on TV. Just reality TV and lawyer/cop shows.

  205. @ Six_Gun_Sam:

nobody ever said that Lanie Grace was devoid of imagination but she has done so much damage with all her outright lies and other confabulation that she has lost the right to have us help her to get hits on her site.

Please do not make publicity for the bitch ever anymore.

  206. Sorry innocent, she’s dead right on this one. JF’s ego killed this show and ruined one of the most loved characters on TV. Had Josh written the show to appeal to the fan base rather than demand that we follow his warped Sarah soap opera we would be looking forward to S3 right now. I will never watch another show he is involved in I am boycotting Fox and Friedman. Like I said before, he’s a hack.

  207. @Snake: I still don’t give a fuck. She is a proven fraud period.

  208. This is crap! I can’t believe Dollhouse got renewed and not my beloved TSCC. That’s what people say- don’t put sci fi on fox b/c it will get cancelled. That reason almost kept me from watching tscc when it debuted. I’m glad I did but now I’m so upset that I don’t think I’ll give fox another chance.

Any chance someone else could pick it up?

Eagerly awaiting your next show Josh.

can you at least tell us what might have been?

  209. I think one of the reasons dollhouse got renewed is b/c Joss has already been spanked by Fox. Firefly got cancelled and he knew if he didn’t do exactly what fox wanted he’d get the chop. From what Josh has said in previous posts, he knew what fox wanted and was more interested in doing the show his way.

  210. We know that Cameron will never come back again… with S3 or without it… we saw that Jonh let her in the past… and i think he can´t go back to the past he lived… the past will never be the same in a storyline… so she is dead… but all we know we will have Cameron in our hearts… she will always be there….”Remember what she said”…(what was there is still there, and it always will be there).

SO HERE IS A LITTLE TRIBUTTE TO CAMERON….
    A VERY HARD “GOOD BYE”….

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CczIyw3t5lQ

  211. Well done Hector

  212. Thanks you so much for this show! I wish it could continue. Yeah it will with T4 but hey. There will not be a Cameron, and Sarah. Also there wont be the young John that we grew to love and care about. I will but the 2nd season that’s for sure. Maybe WB will let it be picked up by another network. It’s their show not Fox’s!

  213. “JF’s ego killed this show and ruined one of the most loved characters on TV. Had Josh written the show to appeal to the fan base rather than demand that we follow his warped Sarah soap opera we would be looking forward to S3 right now.”

Snake, your words ring with clarity and truth.

  214. I just received this answer from Wild-Kat, administrator of the Wiki:

“Never fear, the wiki is here for the long haul… :)”

That is good news: I really didn’t want to loose all the resources the Wiki offers.

  215. I was looking forward to seeing Salvation, but now I think I’ll pass. Warner doesn’t need my money anyway. I hope 10-million people feel the same way.

  216. @Hector We dont know what would have happened to Cameron if we got a Season 3.

  217. Lets flood some servers!! Fox is our skynet now, and we are the resistance!!!

  218. @Snake I like Friedman.Without him there would have been no Cameron,Derek Reese,Clarlie, and Ellison.Thank you Josh for creating characters I love.

  219. johnconnorsson

    @Seneca
r u @$#%ing stupid! the best chance TSCC has of geting s3 is T4. If it makes alot of money WB is gonna be like “%$#^ we should try to get another season” like mama said “think before you speak”

    SUMMER GLAU FOREVER!

  220. before I start, sorry for my english, its not that good but I hope you get the point..I’ve been crying for a long time now, and I have no more tears left…so it’s time to write something here…first I loved this show, it was a very important part of my life and I will miss it a lot…when I knew it was going to be cancel, I felt anger, I was sad, I blame myself for all the times I didn’t watch it life, I blamed JF for his 3 dots bs, I blamed fox for being interest only on the money and even blamed all the millions of people that didn’t liked the show..So let’s be honest here…this show was awesome, it had its ups and downs, the writers made mistakes, they are humans…it was an intelligent show, and we all know the majority of the world does not like to think much when they want TV. The show could be better; that I know for sure, would have 10 millions of people watching, not that sure…was that bad, not for me!! but imp sure fox was thinking 3 millions of crazy core fans are not enough $$$…and that is the way things goes on a TV network… If I say I won’t be watching fox anymore, that not true, I will, mostly because the people, cast and crew of the present and future shows have no fault for fox executive decisions, so I will give a chance to any new show on any network, cause you never know if you will find another jewel just like terminator, and I will always be scared that my favorite show will be cancel, but that is the way life is, sometime you win, sometimes you lost..but there is something I know for sure, I will never give up, I like something I fight for it with my heart and soul, just like I did fight for termination, would I move on like JF recommend, probably, but it will take time, right now I don’t want to give up, I still want to fight, I will keep sending letter, and I will be on this blog, until they shut it down, The only lost war is the one you don’t fight!!! So… ON YOUR FEET SOLDIERS!!!! Please don’t give up…I know is a long shot but maybe sci-fi channel will pick up the show, or wb.. I don’t know I just don’t want to give up, not yet…if there is something we can do, for minimum that it sound, I want to try.. Am I the only one that feel that way, I understand if people if tiresd, I am tired too, but I love this show with all my heart and no matter how tired I am and want to keep fighting until every there are no more options.

  221. I was hoping they’d wait to see how the movie turned out before canceling it. I think the TV cast and writers should’ve ran like they did Serendipity and Firefly. Oh well.

  222. There is a really simple way to save this show. It’s called the power of the purse.

I’ve got $60.00 in my wallet right now that I would be more than happy to transfer via paypal to a principal willing to organize a production of 22 episodes of TSCC. If there were 2 million individuals world-wide willing to join me, then WB could be approached with a firm offer of $120 million cash. Would they turn that down? If someone went to Josh Friedman with a 120 million check would he say no?

The 22 episodes could be shown direct on Hulu. Advertising revenue from Hulu would be gravy.

120 million not enough for 22 episodes? How about 20, or 13 (what was discussed for Fox).

No one in the community willing to put their money where their mouths are, or not enough to produce a significant run? Send those who contributed a DVD set, or whatever, I get approached for more money every day by greedy politicians and they never tell me what they are doing with my money.

I have a little money. Unfortunately, I do not have the time, energy, or technology to make this happen. I don’t see why it couldn’t be done though.

All this takes is someone with a little 21st century organizational power to push the button.

  223. No more Lena?
    Lena?
    No more Bad Ass Bitch!
    LE…NA?
I would plague fox but for echo and sierra.
    Lenahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I need a beer and a shot, hey Utah make it two!
    Oh did I say Lenahhhhhhhhh!!

Thanks for the good times, oh what the hell echo and sierra are strong…
A thousand plagues upon fox, I plague thee with the plague of the UPN, plague of the UPN Thou fox are no longer a contender, back to the ashes with you, Bone that.

Ahhh no more Lena Headey nights…sweet Jesus I need a shot and a plate of bacon and ribs

Ok so this is it, this is how we do it, ok I’m going to walk out of this blog right now.
I’m going…ok this is really my last line…Lena

Ok, lastly to quote as the Simpson’s comic book guy might exit…”spoken in that old Canadian vernacular as the immortal William Shatner and only true James Tiberius Kirk, on bended knee I go…LENA LENAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! …End quote”

  224. I loved the two short seasons of your show Josh, and evryone especially summer did a good job, wish her a big KUDOS for me, well, nothing’s ever far and I hope you can find something good to get out of all this.

  225. I am disappointed in your limited love for the show, Josh. Pitch your ass off! I hope Cameron makes a cameo in the new trilogy, not Allison, but both would be cool, now that the TV series is concrete and not fluid. I am pre-ordering the Blu-Ray, please make sure you include extended episodes with explanations for the Shotgun kill of Cromartie after the much delved into Barret, Roufoss Terminator kill, as well as the blue eye lit, but red eye by default Cameron! Those were the most important plot holes that need to be addressed!

I loved the Terminator factions, but I’m sure that would have been a S3 thing, but I hope its a T5 and T6 thing!

I loved the series and every episode, even the anti-fan favorites like the Sarah centric episodes, though I will say that the Cameron character made the show. The TV series is the only part of the Terminator saga that really delved into the cyber-punk aspect of the mythology up to this point. Exploring the sentience of Cameron was my favorite aspect of the series.

Thank you for creating the best show on TV, but I will always hate you for leaving Cameron dead in the finally, sorry but that made me cry!

  226. Still hammering kevins email: kevin.reilly@fox.com

  227. If it really is over over for real, I’d just like to know what the gist of the plan for Season 3 was. I don’t think either a cartoon or a live-action-cast that is either different or 10 years older is really gonna feel like good resolution. I’d rather just know how it ends and let it play out in my imagination.

  228. Lets all fight for this show to return. The Resistance doesnt know the word quit.

Josh, you fight for this show, too. Of course its easier to just give up. But some special things in life are worth the struggle. We have fought and will continue to fight for you, and have earned you doing the same for us.

The miscalculation with BTR that left everyone so unfulfilled is that it wasnt Allison who we cared about, it was Cameron, and you left her semi-dead with a hole in her head. If she were really gone, that would be better than this limbo.

We need more. The characters need more. And I think deep down, Josh, you do, too. Dont give up. We wont.

  229. Honestly, the time to save the show was over the past several months, not now. We fought long. We fought hard. It wasn’t enough. I think the only thing that could make it work now is the “donating directly to the budget” thing. I’d certainly be willing to do that if someone official put up a site doing so.

The ideal way to make it work would be to get as many people as possible to pledge a certain amount, and if they can hit some particular amount of money they go ahead and make the show for hulu. But that’d have to happen, like, today. The other stars are already getting signed on to do other shows/movies.

  230. Josh, it does sound like you rolled over and gave up too easily on us, especially after you had a hand in creating this mess. If something isn’t going on, on the Q.T. you are an evil man. With all the mantra’s of this blog “hang in there baby” “no fate” , etc, I did not hear any fight in your words or possible hope and that’s disappointing. After the denial of how you left Cameron wore off, Sci-Fi home wrecker comes to mind, to be polite. I did love the show, but I had to let some of the bitterness out!!!!!!!

  231. LENAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  232. http://www.summer-glau.net/wp/

Summer posted a nice note about the show on this page. Worth a read and it shuts down all of the ppl saying JF shut her out and such. Shes sad and obviously enjoyed working w/ JF.

  233. @Raemon: Dont be so defeatist. Right now we are trying to get a place set up where we can donate/pledge our money. This is only day 2 of the fight. Our numbers will grow. People are recruiting at the T4 theaters.

    V L R !!!

  234. To those still interested in viewing Salvation in theaters:

TSCC fans are attempting to organize a new movement based on Salvation ticket stubs. The general idea is to send the tickets to Warner Bros with a message saying that the ticket was bought in support of TSCC.

The idea originated on the TSCC wiki:

    http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread/2847098/T4+Tickets+for+TSCC

and has also been posted on savethescc.com:

“Here’s an idea that’s being tossed around. When you go to see Terminator: Salvation,
keep your ticket stub (heck, collect the ticket stubs from the people around you. But not the ones that look like cyborgs. That might be a bad idea.) and mail it to the WB. We’re still here and we’re not going anywhere.
In the meantime, write to SyFy to demonstrate your support for them should they pickup SCC.”

  235. @Vinny: I just read Summers post. It doesn’t really elaborate on the point that she was shut out in S2. She naturally said she was grateful for the opportunity to play Cameron but it was hardly a ringing endorsement of Friedman. This obviously hurts her deeply and I still believe Friedman owes her an apology for destroying her opportunity to continue bringing this unique character to life.

@ JDay: I’m in if you can muster the support. Just put someone in charge of the project who realizes who the true star of the show really is. Josh free season 3!!!

  236. You guys rock! Thank you and the rest of the cast and crew for giving us a great show, even if it was only for a little while. I’ll definitely be following everyone’s work. What a great team, both in front and behind the camera!

  237. I just read that note from summer as well. She is so wonderful. Loved how she even uses the term Jameron. hehe!!
Shows that they do know what sort of fans they have

  238. Thanks For all Crew That Gave Us A Wonderfull Show…
I Watched This Show On My Pc Cause It’s Not Showing In My Country….
A Greate And Action Pack Series… And Yes I Miss This Show Alot And Hope To See This Series In Futrue…

    Thanks

  239. Thomas and Summer should have gotten involved a lot sooner in the process. They may have helped rally fans and show cast support. Very few shows have been saved without the support of the actors that gets high media attention.

  240. For what it’s worth, I have written Warner Brothers and Fox to ask them to reconsider their decision. Can’t hurt…

  241. Thanks a lot to all those who made TSCC the awsome show it is!
I know I will rewatch all episodes from time to time, cause I love them!
I will always appreciate the amazing two seasons of TSCC we got from you guys :)
    Thank you very much!

  242. nyccine is a troll P.O.S. and so is aurum1

  243. Thank you all for a great Sci-Fi show that will be sadly missed. It does not matter how much you love the show, never underestimate the power of the polls, hardcore fans mean nothing unless they are in their millions. Sad so sad!!

I’ll still buy season 2 DVDs.

    Klaatu barada nikto!

  244. I dont want to give up on this show!!! so what we can do to show Fox we dont agree with their desition, and we need to do something big… not just emails.. there is an idea about sending tickets from termination salvation on the Terminator wiki site… or maybe we can send like a piece of metal to Fox mailing address..I dont know but we need to make some noise here and we need to make it fast.. Please if anybody have an idea, Im listening.

  245. There’s a show that has a maniac loyal fan following, based on a very successful 25 year old franchise, with the most popular TV actress under contract, with a blockbuster movie coming out, shows already made to cash in on with summer reruns… and nobody wants to pick it up?

Whats wrong with this picture? Someone is gonna pick it up and look like a genius, and make everyone else look like idiots for missing it.

Make it part of your routine every day after day to write these guys. If T4 is a huge success, someone is gonna start having second thoughts about this.

  246. @ EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!! MAY I PLEASE HAVE YOUR ATTENTION!!!!!!!

Listen, since the day we’ve been officially “axed” i’ve been thinking quite a lot about it and i’ve come to the following conclusion:
Ah, before i begin, don’t think i’m stupid or a dreamer or something. The thing is, that i memorized what our lovely Summer Glau said in an interview at FedCon in Bonn/Germany.
She meant, that in the 7 years shes been working “in the business” a lot of stuff changed.
For example how networks (like our “beloved” FOX) work. It’s kind of chaotic right now. Seasons are shortened and others are stretched, or splitted.
It’s not like it was, when she started. An actor doesn’t have the security to have a 22-episode contract. Pilots are ordered at the strangest moments.
TV-series make LONG brakes (keep that one in mind people!!!) and THEN come back…
Networks today are likely to order just 3 episodes or 10.
The T:SCC future dependet how many pilots made a good impression, how many series are ordered AND how much dinero is left for the “old” series….
(Since T:SCC is more expesive…especially the future scenes, than maybe a comedy or something, we LOST…..for now!)

OK, this was more or less, what Summer (as an insider!!) said…..now i’m thinking….OK we are NOT on the fall and winter schedules…and THEN?!?!
I mean, i’m not saying to boycott the new series on FOX, but if they won’t do well enough, what will be next?!?!?!

I REALLY HOPE that we can put OUR series back on track, IF we remind the suits at FOX that T:SCC is the ONLY alternative to a failing series in their schedule.
Like Summer said, series take LONG brakes before they come back, than we have to think about, what exactly “LONG BRAKES” means….can it mean a year?! Can it mean that we can be in the next years fall schedule?!?! Think about it…..

PLUS, consider the financial crisis. MAYBE FOX didn’t have the money to keep supporting T:SCC even if they wanted to….MAYBE FOX will have more money next year…..what do you think?!
I, for myself, can’t accept that THIS series is over….like THAT!!!

  247. So i will continue fighting……and i never ever fight for a cause i know, i can’t win!!!

  248. Enzo, exactly my thinking on this. I can see Doll House completely crashing as well as many of the pilots, and Fox getting desparate come January.

Remember, thats what LOST did, finished in May and returned in January.

Right now is NOT the time to go curl up and lick our wounds. RIght now is the time to raise all sorts of hell!!!!

  249. I agree with your opinion enzo… but what will make fox think in a year from now, that TSCC is their best option? What i mean is, we need to be making a lot of noise on regular basis to make then think that if all their new series cannt get the rating they want, TSCC will.. That will be very hard, mostly because only two days from the cancellation and we are doing pretty much nothing, we need to do something and we need to start now… I know a lot of us are mourning and sad but we need to stand on our feet now and keep fighting..

  250. Just think about what will fox do if the original cast won’t have time to continue? That Tscc won’t be the same without Summer,Lena,Thomas,Brian… :(

    Our chance is SciFi.

  251. I posted four links to threads that may be of interest to those who are still in fighting shape and got moderated. Since I doubt that Hadley is still visiting the place I’ll probably never get out of that purgatory.

So here is one single link to other links of the Wiki that may be of great interest to you (look for message 886 on page 45, the last page here):

  252. http://hijinksensue.com/2008/11/10/my-uncle-the-astronaut/ This is why we got cancelled. Damn Space cadets. :)

  253. FINALLY! I feel some fight in us.

I was growing sick of the “oh well, it was great while it lasted… great show, bye bye, blah, blah.” We need the show back and should write and pester anyone. I already wrote to askfox more than once, now I’ll write to the addresses jday provided and reply to the email I got from wiki.

Now don’t lose focus, don’t think the cast won’t come back or Cameron won’t be there, etc. She can be rebuilt, you know. Her chip is in John Henry’s head or maybe the data is in the past with Sarah… Writers can make anything happen.

Anyway, the goal is to get the show back, the producers, writers et al will worry about the rest.

  254. @ Jday
    Thanks, that’s the spirit!

    @ Mar
Mhhhhh……good question…..what will make FOX think in a year from now, that T:SCC is the best solution?
Well, to be honest with you…i can’t tell you that. Not yet.
First of all, we’ll simply have to wait and see how their new pilots/shows and for example Dollhouse will do (hopefully for our cause, let’s say, not so well…).
THEN we can showthem, we’re still here….off course, we need to do something in between, but i’ll think about that the next couple of days…..hope you guys do the same.
And off course, we’re not doing anything useful right now…i guess a lot of people in here are still shocked, pissed….whatever.
To be honest with you, i was too and kinda am right now……you know, you need a bit of time and it’s understandable.
My opinion is, that we can’t do a lot in this particular moment.
Well, off course we can keep writing emails and i will DEFINETLY write a letter next week (now that there is no “deadlined” urge anymore…unfortunately).
But you are right, 2-3 days are absolutely enough to be sad….now we’ll have to get back on trying to bring it back.
As i said before, the main reason for my recent posts were Summers words in that interview (well, off course everyone hoped and believed back then, that we would get picked up) but since these are strange times right now, a lot of things and scenarios can be possible (i hope!).

    @ Larrodan
well, THAT could be a problem…..i still hope, that the people involved with T:SCC are so emotionally bonded with it, that they’ll try to do their best and possible to be in it again.
I know, if they are contracted with an other series, than we’ve got a problem, no doubt about that.
Right now, we’ll simply have to hope a bit….

The most important thing is, that we have to REUNITE and REORGANISE!
If you know others from here (maybe you have contact outside of this blog, please bring them back and tell them, it’s not over yet!)
We need every input possible right now, how our next steps will look like……what we can do to show our passion for T:SCC.
Off course, it wouldnt be bad if we would have the help of “insiders”…HADLEY?!?!
They could tell us, why exactly FOX decided the way they did and then we can think about strategies to make it better……
Can anyone bring for example Dan Hitchman back…since he was (’till a certain point) a very dedicated member in here….

I know, it’s strange said, but FOX NEVER explicitely said, that the show is not interesing anymore and that they don’t want it back ever again. We’re simply (ok, strangly optimistic way to see things, i know) not on their next two schedules, that’s all (YES! ;) )

    @innocent
Thanks for the links….i’ll check them theese days…..what about you, you’re still with us?

  255. Sure Enzo,

    RCN says: guest groaning LOL

  256. Enzo, its not simply not on the schedule, Riley specifically said its over, that salvation being a hit wouldn’t help, that he’s not changing his mind on this.

I know we all want it back, but you have to get past this eventually. you guys criticize josh for giving up, but what else do you want him to do? the coffin has been nailed, buried, and cremated from the looks of it. we fought, we lost.

  257. @Kyle,
If Josh Whedon gave up at the end of Firefly, like our Josh just gave up, Serenity would not have happened, point in fact.

  258. @Kyle Maybe it wont work, the odds are way long, but who knows, if we keep up the noise maybe we get something, maybe a made for TV 2 hour movie next summer so we can get some closure on this story and get Camie’s chip back in her head. It sure as hell doesnt hurt to raise some hell — its fun to rattle their cage, and who knows… stranger things have happened. Anyway, isnt a big part of the Terminator story relentlessness, by both machine and the Resistance?

    RCN seismologists neilson

  259. At least we know for a fact that Summer was “Jameron” through and through on her recent posting.

Even if Josh was wishy washy ’til the very end on that point. That was one thing that kind of burned me a tiny bit on his last blog post: he never seemed to commit on certain elements. Keep ‘em guessing, right ’til the cancellation!

Here’s one thing to consider in when evaluating Season 2 on the whole: There’s a fine line between being subtle and being utterly ethereal, as if trying to catch a Will O’ The Wisp, in your story telling.

Take for instance the many open ended and confusing (to the general audience) plot points that never got truly resolved or sorted out sufficiently, and only make things more head-scratching when BAG brought up String-Theory elements… the first time, I believe, anyone outside of the actors or your writing team ever heard that this was your Time Travel Paradox for TSCC. This is entirely different from the what I like to call the “Back to the Future” Paradox that James Cameron used in his Terminator-verse. Without hinting at that from the start, this almost never used time travel scenario would have been extremely confusing to the general audience members. It lead to IMHO unnecessary over-complications and seeming plot holes and discrepancies with this show that probably weakened the viewership base.

    1) The basement in “Dungeons & Dragons”: You implied late this season (with a one sentence response from Cameron to Derek) and in “Alison from Palmdale” that Cameron was trying to get into John’s camp by becoming and interrogating/profiling Allison Young and interrogating Derek in D&D.

However, when Derek gets back from the abandoned house to John Connor’s base (couldn’t have been more than a day or two’s span of time) Cameron is already there and a firmly established member of the resistance. Derek shouts “metal!” as if he already knows her, but then switches his “attitude” gears immediately. If she had tortured him just moments earlier, why is she already John’s supposed closest confidant, and why would Derek then accept her even if she had just saved him from the rampaging Arnold-wannabe Terminator?

Then, when he sees Cameron again in the present, he calls her a “metal bitch” when he’s freed from the police van. Then he almost immediately switches back to a grudging acceptance instead of trying to find the next possible means to kill her.

All we get is the “I know you/I know you too” speech at the breakfast table.

Also, Derek and the others are left an axe to free themselves. Again, a mystery that never gets an answer.

The first “huh, WTF?” moments. This could have lead people to think that A) The writers are making mistakes, and not paying attention to details, and/or B) The actors are getting bad direction on set.

    2) John Henry/The Turk “knowing” Cameron in a mutual and seemingly friendly and trustworthy fashion when John Henry/The Turk has never even met Cameron in this present time setting. Let’s say for the sake of argument that Cameron “knows” John Henry from the future. How is that possible when she had stated “Skynet” had chosen Allison Young in “AFP.” John Henry is supposed to be the “other” AI and not Skynet, which was based on Miles Dyson’s Cyberdyne construct.

The Turk is a product of THIS time line, or so it stands to reason, since James Cameron never mentioned this AI in either movie… one would have to assume this due to what we had to go on. So, Cameron could not have known John Henry/The Turk ever existed given the evidence. The writers may have known differently, but the audience sure didn’t.

Even in D&D Andy Goode mentioned he was developing Skynet for the military, and not The Turk.

    3) Some fans have stated that “Born To Run” wrapped everything up neatly and cleanly and tied the plots all together. I cry “bollocks.”

John Connor, as established in canon, lived through Judgment Day and helped start the resistance in the Skynet work camps to smash those metal MOFO’s, as Kyle Reese stated in “The Terminator.”

“Born To Run” would have to establish an entirely new time line and all that came before and since in this time loop would have been completely smashed.

No John Connor, no John Connor influence on events during and after JD. No John Connor… no reason for Cameron to have been built to replace Allison and infiltrate and fool John Connor in the first place. The entire construction of any human resistance would have been completely different and probably been a total failure since John Connor, again in canon, was the very reason the resistance actually was winning handily against Skynet, and the reason Skynet, in desperation, sent a Terminator back to kill Sarah Connor before John was even born leading to its complete and utter victory over the humans in the future set up by Sarah’s death.

If John has now skipped over events he should have been there for then he is a nobody, and his character has been turned into a dried husk of unimportance.

You blew up the frakking barn, indeed. The “Born To Run” finale, now the Series Finale, almost seemed like a scorched earth ending. No one was going to leave this show completely satisfied. The biggest example of this was the killing off of Cameron, the fan favorite, when Sarah’s monologue statement of what would happen if a machine became just like us was never able to be fulfilled. The Tin-Man never got to discover “his” heart.

And to top it all off with a big red bow, there was no real “Jameron” moment and just another vague, though indeed interesting, “will they hook up?/won’t they hook up?” situation when, I’m sure, Josh already knew this show was doomed.

That’s what makes “Born To Run,” on the whole, an entirely unsatisfying series conclusion. It wraps up nothing, and really explains nothing if you peel it all back. Perhaps, Josh saw the mistakes of Season 2 and was attempting to do a whole-sale reboot for Season 3, as if the last season and a half never happened.

    Now we’ll never know.

    4) Which characters (Catherine, Jesse, Cameron, and Derek) were from which time lines, how did they interrelate, and in the end did it really have to be this complex? At its heart, Terminator is a simple yet wholly profound story of hope, at least according to James Cameron. Why do we humans have to keep hating, and fighting, and killing when a machine built for nothing but dealing out death and destruction, a Terminator, could learn not to? Death itself could “get it,” why can’t we?

Going through both seasons again and analyzing this and that and trying to make sense of it all and finding far more questions and confusing elements than these few bullet points, I’ll stop here and let you all digest and hopefully discuss what I’ve mentioned thus far off the top of my head.

This post is not to criticize, or cast blame, but to start to get the ball rolling for the fans to explore what might have led to TSCC’s less than stellar overall ratings and viewership…

And maybe we can all learn and grow from the experience of this thoroughly thought provoking franchise and TV series, and come back stronger than ever in some other future venture.

  260. Man, I’m listening to TSCC OST while doing some homework, as I often do, and could help to feel very sad and tearful at the idea of not having this music accompany new Connor’s adventures.

  261. Still hammering kevin, latest letter below, forgive if the formatting gets screwed up.

    Dear Kevin,

A quote from you. “But we make no apologies for that show. We had a huge launch for that show, as you remember. We gave it a lot of support and some consistent scheduling. We tried, and felt it was time to move on.”

I like Whedon, loved firefly and serenity, but dollhouse sucks and I gave it plenty of time. You let politics or $$ choose
between TSCC and dollhouse. The better show lost and the crappy one won, no amout of spin from you will fix that.

Glee, what the hell is that? Kiddie bop crap!!!! With all the junk on TV I cannot believe a show like TSCC gets canned.
You started off with a very successfull formula, and screwed it. Josh may be resonsible for a few bad episodes, but
Fox sabatoged the show way more. Moving the show to Friday night when most of the demographic is out having a
life, the two month winter break (Consistent Scheduling?) would make a monk loose interest, and crappy promo’s.
Some of the vids made by fans on Youtube blow away anything you put out. Hey I got an idea, how bout another
reality show, this one based on clueless programming directors? You would have a lot of material for that show
rite there in your office. You could be the Mr. Carlson of TV from WKRP. Your decisions plus what I know about
Fox’s past decisions has convinced me to swear off all things Fox. As much as I like Summer Glau, if she does
anymore work for you I wont be watching unless it’s TSCC, she probably has way more class than that but I hope
    she swears off Fox too!!!!!!!!!!!

  262. For everyone who is serious about getting the content they want:

    http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/page/Fan+Funded+Season+3+Pledges

  263. apparently im told by some friends that someone at scyfy or w/e it is now, said if enough support emails were sent to feedback@scifi.com this individual would bring it up at a senior staff meeting about picking up the show. The only issue with this would be if the actors have already made other commitments and of course JF would have to be on board.

  264. Made by Schmacky

“There is no Salvation without Sarah Connor - Terminator Salvation trailer”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCuAy4R2Agc

  265. here’s an idea that a lot of people have already taken advantage of…if sci fi is looking for supportive emails…everyone send emails from ALL their multiple email addresses. They can’t tell if it’s the same person…

  266. Great letter Robert!!

    RCN= Ballet Havoc

  267. @hlampert:

I looked at your link and I think there is a flaw in the plan. Taking this to Josh is the wrong answer. In case nobody noticed he is one of the main reasons this show was cancelled. He may have created much of it based on someone elses initial work, but he also destroyed it after we invested ourselves in it. All of the writers have the talent to write this series and I believe most of them would have the sense to write the show in a way that showcases the fans favorite characters and doesn’t go out of the way to piss off the fan base. I whole heartedly agree with Lanie Graces assesment of why this show died. Like her or not she nailed it this time. Josh fooled us once, I won’t support giving him a second chance. I want the series back but not if the guy who pulled the rug out from under us is in charge of it. As I have said, JOSH FREE SEASON 3!!!!

  268. Vinny,

Thanks for the information. I sent my email tonight. Hopefully everyone else will take five minutes or so and do the same. Fans, its time to stop crying and complaining and start doing something positive.

  269. Snake, I really think your in the minority here, I for one don’t want the series to continue without Josh. Yes, he screwed up a bit with the Sarah focus episodes, the 3 dots, but I don’t regret other things like the lack of Cameron. They had other things to set into motion before the finale and couldn’t waste time building the John/Cameron relationship. (I refuse to use the term jameron) I know we all loved the Cameron moments from season 1, but doing too much more of that would risk being a retread of what we’ve already seen. they set up Cameron already, and later John pushed her away, only to realise he never really wanted to in the first place. I don’t see any problem with the way things were handeled.

  270. Yo Yo Maloney I Stand With Snake!

Minority number two here and I stand with snake on the Josh Free season 3.
Also I think the problem was not that they had too many Sarah focus stories, but the fact that they had too many bad boring non sci-fi, Non action stories.

Your about to be canceled the first time and you come back with almost back to back hospital stories.
Definitely needed more Cameron, she was the lead terminator and don’t terminators have rights?

Hey Josh may be a great guy, nice guy, but I don’t think his vision for this show would ever gain enough fan support to stay high in the ratings. For Christ sakes can’t you find a bodybuilder in Hollywood to play an imposing terminator villain. I love John Henry but didn’t love him as the imposing terminator.

    Minority number two out.

    LENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  271. Too little Cameron and too much boring Sarah is what contributed to show’s death. I have to agree with Snake and Donavan. People watch Terminator for action and then for the story. Actually movies have perfect mix of action and story and that’s what TSCC should’ve been. I know many people like story and characters but there is not enough of these people to get our show renewed. Filming fighting scenes is not that expensive I would guess, shootings and chases too, they should’ve done it. Cameron had to be used a lot more. I kept missing her each episode and the final prison break shotgun rampage was very dissapointing for me to watch.
Josh created Cameron and she overpowered everybody esle and all they needed to do was give her equal air time with Sarah and John and give audience more action.
I hope that someone esle picks up the show and makes in the way it should be made. It was a brilliant show and apart from Sarah focused episodes the best show out there. I had fun and I rewatched it several times already and keep rewatching it.
    Show needs balance.
I actually would prefer Cameron Phillips Chronicles is this show is ever getting renewed.

  272. It is a mixed bag. On one hand…

Without Josh: no Cameron, no Weaver, no Ellison (thanks God?), no Charlie (yet not enough strong human Charlie, the man was a hero in life for Xsake, not Charlie Brown), no Cromartie and his great finale, no intriguing John Henry… NO SAVANNAH!!!

With Josh, quite frankly, awfully protracted exposition of the family dynamic, inconsistent rhythm in the storytelling in general. little to no attention to his public, very poor concept for the John Connor, even worse choice of actor: I never said it but my stomach turned every time I saw him walking with his butt cheeks clenched or pinching is pretty little lips to express anger; no muscle whatsoever, soft as pudding…

On the other hand, who wants 5 years of dumb ass Arnold?

  273. @ Kyle

Where did Riley specifically said that? Any link??

  274. Thank you for such an incredible show. I am sad about this but I have faith that T: SCC will return. Hopefully the exact same way it left, only better with more seasons. Too many people enjoyed this show. For the first time in my life, since X-Files I have found a show that I LOVE. Even more than X-Files! The episode with Abraham had X-Files written all over it too, and I could totally tell. It was awesome. This entire show was apart of my life. My fiance and I watched it everytime I came on. When we couldn’t watch it together, we’d stay on the phone and watch it. Sometimes the episodes were too good that we couldn’t stay on the phone. We needed total peace and would have to call eachother on commercials.

Sometimes I couldn’t watch it because I’d be in school. I happen to think that airing the show on Monday and then Friday nights were both really bad nights. Picking a day inbetween those days would have been great because those are always less chaotic days (usually for most people).

To all of the other fans, I just have to say just keep some faith. Keep the hope alive. Afterall, it’s what this show was about. There is no need to get upset or mad. If it wasn’t for these two wonderful seasons, we would have never met the cast of T:SCC as we know them now. We would have never experienced getting to know them so much that we miss them. I love this show and always will.

I couldn’t have imagined this show any other way. I hope one day I can watch it again on television. I’m happy that it ended at the point it did because it was a moment that was totally unexpected and left me with a sense of peace. The biggest mystery of all was solved, which is how John Connor actually got to the future and that made my life a little bit more complete. It was in a way that I did not ever imagine.

Let’s stay positive and hope and pray that we will see T:SCC return! It’s happened before with my favorite shows that I thought were gone forever in some way or another. Thank you for creating the best television show the world has ever seen!

  275. HEY, ALL!

Don’t make a buried thing from TSCC! It’s not over yet. Fox is done with it, but we still have some hope. Reunite and fight for our show! May Sci-Fi pick up it, they are already thinking about it. So come on, don’t let TSCC die!

  276. unknown soldier

saw Terminator Salvation last night at midnight, it had the feel of the first two films and more, kyle reese was great, and the giant terminator wasn’t like a transformer. We’ll have 2 more films for sure.

  277. For those who think Josh is going to go with Sci-fi then you are wrong. Josh is like Fox when it comes to money. Don’t get it twisted about his character. He doesn’t care so stop it people. It will only hurt even more. To tell the turth, I wished they got another director to do the show. Josh had a good idea but second season just blew it by adding stupid story lines that had nothing to do with the plot which was to stop, oh I don’t know, Skynet. Just be happy Fox gave us a full second season.

  278. Enzo, I’ll try to find a source, I haven’t had any luck so far. I cant for the life of me remember where I saw it. Most sites have too much paraphrasing and leave it out.

innocent, dude, Thomas is the best John Conner I think Ive ever seen play him. I haven’t seen salvation yet, but it sounds like he’s even better than Christian Bale. I think the only one that should be accused of being a pretty boy is the guy they got to play Kyle Reese. he didnt even grow his own facial hair from what I could tell.

the only time I thin Ive ever cringed at anything from from Thomas was the line “you don’t know anything!”

  279. Ive been thinking what to do.. and I am going to send my terminator salvation ticket to fox, but also Im going to send a box of pancake mix, with a note explaining it is in honor of sarah connor…What do you think???

  280. Maybe the people at FOX/WB think the Terminator fans are so loyal to the concept that they’ll swarm to the movie regardless of how they’re treated on the small screen. They’re probably right. This way they can draw a new audience for whatever show they replace T/SCC with and still not lose the loyalists when it comes to forking over bucks at the big screen. If Dollhouse becomes a movie, they too will be cancelled on TV.

Getting new pockets without losing the old ones is the big game.

  281. We can convince Josh to continue. Honestly If we will get a chance, do you think he won’t do it for us? If he love his show (his child) he won’t left it behind. I’m still hoping.

Join us at savethescc[dot]com. Sci-Fi is our hope.

“If You’re Reading This You Are The Resistance,
    Hang in there, Baby!”

  282. Just got back from seeing Salvation, I wont spoil anything story related. If you like visuals it was alright. The story the movie contained was ok, but in the end there was no significant advancement of the plot that dieharder’s will appreciate (probably). I did not ooh, awe, grin, squirm, laugh or get glassy eyes once during the movie.

After seeing the movie, I have to say, if were grading on a scale Josh’s writing grade just went up quite a bit, even taking into account my past gripes with Josh and the bad episodes. Not to say that makes everything ok, but a full movie production didn’t do much better in my book.

  283. Actually, the best part of Salvation was getting the ticket stubs to send in to try and get the show I really want to see back on.

  284. NEW POLL - vote Thomas DEKKER!

There is a new poll on MTV: vote for the actor portraying John Connor you’d most like to see fighting SkyNet into the future:

    http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/05/21/poll-the-many-john-connors-of-the-terminator-series-which-do-you-prefer/

Right now Dekker is getting beaten out by both Bale and Edward Furlong.

  285. Well I suppose its all over now. It was a great ride and I’m glad to have shared this wonderful show with everyone here. Thank you Josh and company for all that you have done; it was worth it to us. I’ll miss everything TSCC. With a lump in my throat, I finish my last post on the blog. I’m thinking of all of the things that I have typed here and all of the things that I will never type again. With a loving memory, this will be my last post. From the Pilot to Born to Run, this has been Charlie.

  286. @ Charlie,
Over??? We just began, on your feet soldier!!! Cram some emails, the good one’s and the bad one’s!!!! Try: kevin.reilly@fox.com He really likes discussing his faults, and the works of Shun Yu (firefly). Hee, Hee…….

  287. Here’s the panorama:

TSCC’s been cancelled so everyone involved is starting to move on some new projects, which implies that they won’t be available to get back shooting the series even though we succeed in our efforts for another network like Sci Fi to pick it up (Josh said Fox or nothing).*

UNLESS we convince Warner Bros to release a series of “direct to DVD” movies, which everyone involved in the show (actors/ producers/writers) would certainly LOVE to do, and they could find the way and the time to get involved in this as a parallel project, without leaving the new projects most of them are probably getting into right now (for example: BAG’s new series and Summer’s new movie).

That said, I’m quite sure that everyone involved with TSCC, and especially Josh Friedman, would be delighted with such an offer from Warner Bros, since I bet, deep inside, there’s nothing JF and everyone (including us, of course) would love the most.

That’s why I think this is our better option.

Take back the future. Take back TSCC. Write to WB and Halcyon:

    Scott.Rowe@Warnerbros.com
    Bruce.Rosenblum@Warnerbros.com
    Peter.Roth@Warnerbros.com
    info@thehalcyoncompany.com

You can also write to Sci Fi Channel (maybe they could consider being associated producers):

    feedback@scifi.com

    No fate.

    ____________________

*And, even if we can convince Josh, we still would need AT LEAST: Lena Headey, Summer Glau, Thomas Dekker, BAG, Jonathan Jackson, Garret Dillahunt, Richard T. Jones and, maybe, also Shirley Manson – she could be replaced by another actress due to the nature of her character, though.

That’s why I say it’s much easier getting them to occasionally shooting a “direct to DVD” movie than leaving their new projects (I suspect that common sense and their agents will tell them not to take that risk but, IMO, they might well be accepting (loving) to shoot a couple of “direct to DVD” movies instead).

  288. @Charlie and everyone else who writes in here to say theyre quitting:

At least fight along side us for the next couple weeks, this time right now is critical. It takes no time to cut and paste addresses for cc e-mail each day to these guys. It can be short and sweet just letting them know that someone else out there still wants TSCC renewed.

We need you in the fight, we need volume, we need numbers.

Sure its a long shot, but who wants to just go slink away?
If we get beat, okay, but wouldnt you really rather go down swinging?
    Come on, buck up!!!

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Viva La Resistance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  289. Do we have any other scifi addresses? Addresses of people who may be making the decisions? I have been internet searching for e-mails and have come up empty.

  290. To Josh, et. al.:

I just got back from watching Terminator: Salvation, and am left with a hole in my heart. Even with your television-sized budget, I found TSCC to be far more satisfying and endearing as a franchise fan than the film I just watched. In two seasons, you managed captured the depth, soul, and dare I say humanity of the Terminator franchise far better than this new Hollywood installment, and with intelligent, multifaceted plot lines to boot. The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be dearly missed.

  291. I agree with you for the most part Jack. While I genuinely enjoyed the film there just isn’t enough time to get as involved with the characters like we did in T:SCC. I kept looking for Summer Glau to show up in the film even though I knew she wasn’t in it. I’ve just come to identify the franchise with her now. In two seasons (really 1.5 seasons) she has become as much a part of Terminator as Arnold. I miss you Summer. You’re portrayal of Cameron is truly world class.

  292. I just got back, and I agree, I did enjoy it, but it was no TSCC. wierd thing for me, instead of Cameron, I kept thinking “Jessie”. projecting her onto Moon bloodgood’s character. is it the asian thing? maybe. but you cant deney they look kinda similir. not sure why I kept thinking her, I didnt even like Jessie that much.

as for Cameron, yeah I think she made me realise something the film lacked, terminator interaction with john. I felt like we needed to learn something from a terminator at some point. about the way they think, act, work, whatever. and from one that actually talks. Marcus was meant to replace that, but as we know, hes not a terminator, not really. and he didnt really develop much of a relationship with John either.

I think Cameron could have fit in easily as a cameo in the factory along side Arnold (which by the way was really well done)

anyway, I look foward to the sequels, but woudl give them up easily for even one more ep of TSCC.

  293. I’m starting to confirm my suspicions upon Warner Bros/Halcyon’s possible involvement in TSCC’s cancellation… Clearly, TSCC, the product they meant to be just a marketing strategy in order to create more expectations regarding the upcoming movies, started to consolidate between the fans in a way the movies will never be able to do.

The result: The original James Cameron fans and the new potential viewers for the trilogy were captivated by the greatness of TSCC, it’s fascinating plot developments and amazing characters like Cameron/Allison. So, WB/Halcyon realized that the aim of the campaign, this potential audience for the films, is actually much more interested on TSCC than on the film trilogy in which they invested so much millions of dollars. Ooops! Poor WB/Halcyon Company… :D Maybe they should get back TSCC or even make TSCC’s films to compensate the millions of fans who, most probably, will not even bother to go to the theaters when the next movie comes out… That would be a very interesting turn of events, huh? ;)

  294. I STILL WANT A SEASON 3 …. WE SHOULD GET A END TO OUR STORYLINE. I LOVE THE SHOW BUT THE END OF SEASON TWO IS TOTALLY UP IN THE AIR. WHAT HAPPEND WHAT GOING TO HAPPEN. FUCK YOU FOX. YOU ALWAYS PUT ON A GOOD SHOW THEN GET RID OF IT BEFOR ANYONE CAN TUNEIN. YOU SPLIT UP THE FISRT SEASON OF TSCC THEN MOVED IT TO FRIDAYS. IT NEVER HAD A CHANCE. THIS IS BULL.

  295. I saw Salvation last night and it was pretty good, just not as good as T:SCC. Did anyone else notice that the little HK chasing the Jeep had three eyes that looked like Sarah’s 3 dots? I missed all of our characters and everytime the submarine came on I thought it was Jesse.

  296. @Alexis

That’s what I’ve been saying from the beginning (see my earlier posts on this page).

    @everyone
Direct to DVD!!! NO! I wan’t to watch it in it’s full HD glory. This is such a good show, more people need to watch it and they won’t if it’s on a Friday night.

I guess they thought they would shut us up with a movie instead of renewing the show. Well, we have to let them know… it won’t work. Give us the show back.

  297. Farscape fans got a movie.
    Firefly fans got a movie.

    Don’t give up, TSCC fans!

  298. If you watch the movie, you’ll be able to tell that the writers (and the rest of the crew) of TSCC had nothing to do with the movie. The movie was awful. NOTHING compared to the show.

Who wrote Salvation? I don’t know… but I bet it was a teenage girl or someone that knows nothing about warfare, survival, science, or Kyle Reese. It’s a travesty what they did to Cameron’s vision. And why did it have to have the director of Charlie’s Angels direct this movie? Save your money, the movie is beyond lame.

Friends… it’s over. If we don’t get the show back, Terminator is gone for good.

  299. Thanks for writers and actors for great show.
sad that it ended like that.

  300. Thanks, mg9018. I wasn’t planning to go see it anyway, but now I know for sure; I’m not going.

  301. Everyone left the theater with their heads down and in silence.

  302. Wow, what a defeatist. Thankfully he doesn’t own the rights to the show or even the characters he added. I want the story to continue in a book or anything.

So no, Mr. Friedman, I’m not giving up like you did. No wonder Fox picked Whedon’s Dollhouse over TSCC. To paraphrase Kevin Reilly, ‘it’s a bet on Joss’.

  303. @mg9018
The people who wrote T4 are the same guys who wrote T3 (that should tell you something) M Ferris and J Brancato.

    @Alexis
Your theory about WB/Halcyon only caring about TSCC as a lead-in to T4 makes sense. I was so wrongly confident we were getting renewed, but one premise that I based my belief on was that WB/H were supportive of TSCC.
Several things about this whole process have not made any sense, but if you go by what youre saying, then it all starts to fall into place.
The trouble is, that would just about be the kiss of death for us if WB/H dont even give a shit about TSCC. That makes the fight really tough.

    !!!!!!! V L R !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  304. I’m sad that everyone’s saying Terminator Salvation is not as good as TSCC. I thought that, if nothing else, I could see the continuation of the Terminator series and I could have SOME semblance of closure in the Terminator universe. It’s difficult when you have gaping holes all over the place. I’ll see it for myself this weekend.

  305. Saw Salvation tonight:
great action, great effects, not an ounce of brain, not a gram of heart.

    RCN says what?
    “under tyrants”

  306. @innocent
Well put. SALVATION was not art. TSCC was.

  307. New TSCC boards at The WB

    http://tinyurl.com/o6ahla

  308. No, Mr.Friedman the suits there at Fox never supported you, the show nor the franchise. FOX managers just wanted to hurt the Terminator franchise owned by WarnerBros. What doesn’t make any sense at all is that WarnerBros managers can’t realize how strong TSCC tv series really is worldwide. The ratings don’t count at all. Now Terminator4 is going to prove the fact that many millions of people want to watch Terminator movies and tv series, they love the franchise worldwide. So cancelling the tv series doesn’t make any sense.
WarnerBros managers should air Terminator:Sarah Connor Chronicles on TheCW along with Supernatural. Period.
I can only hope that the WarnerBros CEO and managers will see that the business it’s there with the success of the movie and that they will reconsider the cancellation.
Without a Terminator tv series the franchise is going to suffer badly while Terminator5 and Terminator6 will get produced.
At the worst I can also only hope that Summer Glau will appear on the next two movies as Alison Young/Cameron…

  309. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Hey guys,
it’s been posted here before, but please sign this if you really want ro save TSCC.
    Money talks.
    http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/page/Fan+Funded+Season+3+Pledges?t=anon
It’s a petition that states how much you are willing to pay to get a season 3. Fans can definately fund at least a few episodes to get an ending (or if life is ridiculously kind…a season 3).

If we get a reasonable amount of money people are willing to pay, then we can send it off to fox, sci-fi and the WB. Someone will definately respond in some way. Maybe a dvd movie or something, who knows.

We need to get this signed FAST! the actors will all go their separate ways within a few weeks- so post this around everywhere you can, and SIGN SIGN SIGN!!!!!!!

  310. Well. It was a good show. A good franchise. What puzzles me is why Warner Brothers would throw it away. Screw FOX. Why is WB not looking to pursue anything more with this? It wasn’t just another “TV SHOW.” Terminator is a 25 year old FRANCHISE. It is has a global market. The freaking “STARGATE” got itself 10 Seasons, a spinoff show and three TV Movies… The series CAN’T end, just because some losers at Fox fail to understand how to market it and make money off of it. The people who have the rights to this show, the movies, etc, have to be morons not to shop around. There is obviously an audience for this stuff, and a couple straight to DVD movies is almost a no-brainer…what the hell is all this ‘goodbye’ and ‘thanks for all the fish’ crap? If there has been some decision to KILL the Terminator forever, it has been made by the most idiotic person on planet earth. This isn’t some ’scifi’ crap that was invented two years ago… Eh…if only I had a few million dollars, Dekker, Green, Friedman, you’d all have jobs.

  311. I will not see T4 either, We TSCC fans have to realize one thing, The average American TV viewer is a very simple minded person who doesn’t have the mental capacity to follow a story line week to week, these weak minded people would rather watch Homer Simpson walk into a wall for 30 minutes saying Doh!..

These same people would love to watch Cromartie chase John Conner up and down Hollywood Blvd with a rocket launcher and would laugh till they cried if Cameron killed birds for 44 minutes each week. To put a face on these simple minded viewers just imagine Chris from Family Guy…These are the people that feed their kids McDonalds 21 times a week and wonder why their little babies are Fat toads.

Fox needs these idiots because they add up to 10 million viewers and keeps them in business…I’d rather be part of 2.5 million TSCC viewers anytime

  312. @WDan
I couldn’t agree with you more!
I was hoping to at least see BAG on the CW (some political show), but that didn’t get picked up!

    Signing off.

  313. I’d say it’s TV viewers in general who are mind numbed imbeciles. Some of the trash they air in Europe, South America, and Mexico make American Idol look cerebral. Let’s face it, most people around the world are easily led by the nose. There are only a scant few who are willing to think for themselves or do for themselves. The cancellation of T:SCC is just an indicator of a much larger problem.

  314. Man, it’s just so sad this show is over.

    I really, really liked it.

  315. Terminatrix_2011

T:SCC was easily one of the best, if not THE best, show on television. A huge thanks to all the cast, crew, production team and writing team for all your great work.

Obviously, i still hope it’ll get picked up by another network, but in the meantime, i’d just like to say, Thank you for the memories !!

  316. Thank you for everything, Josh!

    Donate! Donate! Donate!

  319. Just went there…tell everybody!!!!

  320. As strange as it makes me feel to finance a TV show I went ahead and pledged.

If this ever works, let’s not forget that we can also use advertisement (product placement for example) and rentals in video clubs, online downloads (more ads) and other stuff.

  321. posted and pledged

  322. Someone above wrote the following line as an insult to those who would wish to see it, they wrote “These same people would love to watch Cromartie chase John Conner up and down Hollywood Blvd with a rocket launcher..”.

Funny is it just me or does that line sound very similar to a large part of the foundation that got all this started in 1984. But hey, it may just be me an average American TV viewer, thank god.

Oh I need a Big Mac and a Whiskey. LENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

  323. Agreed with the people who were really disappointed with Salvation.

Mr Friedman please, please PLEASE SAVE THE FRANCHISE,
themes that you were exploring with the show e.g. dissent among the resistance with respect to john connor or what started in T2 with uncle bob about human/machine cooperation, they managed to completely butcher.

It just makes me so angry maybe I had too high expectations for the movie but If I could blot two hours of the entire franchise out it would be that crappy movie.

  324. last time i wrote , i was “moderated” and deleted…ok, let’s just try again
I fear that WB and Halcyon are those behind Tscc cancellation, not only Fox.
They acted as fool, beacuse if Salvation is gonna to be a success, they will produce a T5 maybe…and waiting for that, Tscc would have been a beautiful way to spend time about Terminator.
Really, i can’t understand how they throw away it…bah :(
About Josh, thanx for everything, for realizing such a show and such charcaters.
.Man, If Josh made a “mistake”,it was only about thinkin at Tscc as a 4-already paid seasons - show.
Probably, last 10 episodes were really too slow, and probably othere decisions had to be taken to save Tscc at that time (as anticipating some storyline and make othere “slim”)
Josh made his choices, as it’s expected by a executive director. But they simply don’t work.
I’m here asking myslef how is it possible that in 2009 nobody wants to pick up such a show with that cast and that franchise…really !
Now, i will start to send mails to WB and Halcyon. This limbo is horrible.
Now and forever…WE ARE THE RESISTANCE !!!

  325. Well Franz I could be wrong but I say why nobody picked up the show?

Ratings are already low and soon to come V to take some of the audience, Flashforward, Ghost whisper’s Friday night dominance now with medium. I think CW has new sci fi and Vampires. Where do you find an audience for a show with an ever slipping audience and now with a coming season of more nerd boy fan boy competition?

I think most of the TSCC Actors are too good and too hot and will all soon sign for too many projects anyway…resistance is futile.

    Nerd boy fan boy out!

    LENAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  326. saw T4 today and well it felt kinda lacking dont get me wrong it was a good movie but……..it just felt like it was missing something

  327. I haven’t seen T4 just yet, not released where I live. Still, I’m pretty certain I’ll say exactly the same things I’m saying now once I saw it. The movie does not intend to follow TSCC lines, it goes along that so called movie T3, which Friedman and the rest were so smart to bypass into a parallel story.

I very much appreciate that they have intended to give Terminator some refreshment with the inclusion a cyborg that believes he’s human and all that stuff, which is good, because T3 was completely stupid in many senses. Yeah, action is certainly good, so must be the effects, but that whats the terminator franchise has come to. Something that was originally directed and created by masterminds James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd turned to a very mindless action story with robots where those ideas where totally lost. By T4, james and gale were not even credited, at all (According to IMDB).

Now, TSCC really made justice to what the original idea once stood for. The original concept lost it’s real greatness and intends to be made great by the force of money.

Well, learn this hollywood, your stupid dream of making big money from remakes and reborn franchise will eventually come to an end. Either that or doomsday won’t be a need to kill the human race.

Yeah, I’m being kinda strong here, but seriously, we are so doomed.

Anyway, we are the RESISTANCE, there is no FATE but what we make. Let’s not let everything said here just here. Let’s flood FOX’s inbox and everyone else there is to annoy with all that’s being said here. We won’t win if we don’t FIGHT!!!

  328. Thanks for a wonderful 2 seasons, sad to see it come to an end…it was definately the most intrigueing show to date…I truely will miss watching the show…good luck in your future projects… :(

  329. Yeah Josh and I hope you learned a lesson about screwing the fans. If you had given them what they wanted you’d still have a show.

  330. What happened to save one TV SHow, it is not fair and the decision is unfortunate. TSSC has been the best TV Show this year. Salvation has done a terrible job and TSCC is being punished.

  331. I miss this show :(

  332. just finished seeing Terminator Salvation (TS). Not good. the SCC was much much better, and deserved to continue. would be willing to pay for a direct to DVD series, or anything that would keep the show going. TS was almost, well, stupid. plot horrible, disjointed etc, but of course with a budget like they had the effects were ok. TSCC was slick for a TV program, and the only episode i did not like was the one in the nuclear power plant (ok, so i work at one.). i understand how the show got cancelled (not enough viewers) but it would have such HBO type potential, there must be a way to keep it going………

  333. Which show requires the least thought; T/SCC or The Simpsons? Which show has been on for 20 years with no end in sight? America, land of the ten-second attention span.

  334. The guy’s that wrote T3 and Salvation pretty much wrecked the whole thing. T3 with it’s judgement day is unavoidable sucked and Salvation was a crappy future war story.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles was one with the rite idea at least. The only story that really matters to me is to see a wised up John Connor playing live or die chess with skynet in an attempt to stop judgement day. T3 passed up on this and instead started with an almost bum for a John Connor that just turned into another chase em.

What Sarah Connor Chronicles started needs to be finished, it’s the best story
left, period. I always like the hope of stopping judgement day dangling out there
    and exploring the chess game.

  335. Hey all,
Happened across this by chance tonight:
    http://www.summer-glau.net/wp/

I recommend you all read this and let it be your final thoughts TSCC. It’s a nice way to say goodbye.

  336. FYI, there’s a new petition for fans to sign on http://www.savethescc.com

    http://www.savethescc.com/petition/index.php

  337. Just a note, our girl Summer just topped 24M votes for favorite female on TV. Congratulations Summer!!

  338. @Al B Bach
“final thoughts… say goodbye” Bullshit! Why are so many here only wanting to throw dirt in the grave. How about some lessons from TSCC, like there is no fate but what we make, or that some people never quit the fight no matter the odds?

If the loyal fans of this show keep the buzz alive, you dont know, Halcyon might think of a way to make some more money off of this and give us something in the next year or two to put some closure on this story (and get a chip back in Camie’s head!). Actors and production people juggle more than one project in their careers all the time.

Trekkies did it after they got cancelled after two seasons, whats wrong with us? Well, one thing is theres way too many fans like this who are just fucking crying, who could help with the fight instead of just giving up and throwing dirt in the damn hole.

  339. Right on Jday!! Just one slight disagreement. I don’t want CLOSURE. I want 5 more seasons. If we fight for one last ep then that is what we’re likely to get. Send the message that we want the saga to continue. I just posted the latest numbers for Summer, she’s the hottest thing on TV. Only a idiot would pass up any venture that has her name on it. Especially one with an established and loved character like Cameron. I don’t care how badly Josh wants to kill her, she has grown much bigger than Josh Friedman. Fight for continuation of the series not a tidy ending.

  340. Question: Why will TS suck?
Answer: Because it follows the T3 time line
Question: So why does T3 suck?
    Answer: Check Below

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    A review of

    T3: Rise of the Machines

    or the alternate title

“T3: WE (BADLY) REWROTE T2: JUDGMENT DAY AND TRIED TO SLIP IT PAST THE FANS FOR MORE OF THEIR MONEY”

Daja vu is a funny feeling you get when you think that you have done or seen something before. Well, when I bought the T3 DVD and watched it for the first time I had a real case of daja vu. Even though this was the first time that I had ever seen T3:ROTM, I knew that I had seen this movie before. Now, where was it that I had seen T3:ROTM before?

    Hmmmm.

(insert sound of me snapping my fingers)

That’s right! it was the Summer of 1991 and the movie was called Terminator 2: Judgment Day way back then.

T3 is a lampoon of T2, and a very bad one at that. From cheesy acting to laughable holes in both logic and plot, T3 fails as anything other than maybe a demo for some well done FX eye candy. The bad news is that it is official, it is canon, and it effectively beheads and neuters the first two movies in one fell swoop at the same time. T3 should be a lesson to all other film-makers of how not to make a movie using a vastly popular franchise. Big money and big star power couldn’t save this stinker…

Let’s recap the plot to T3:ROTM. SKYNET’s attempt to kill Sarah Connor in 1984 fails. SKYNET then sends back through time an advanced prototype terminator to kill John Connor when he’s older. The Resistance manages to send back a reprogrammed Terminator to protect John Connor. A chase ensues with the prototype Terminator pursuing John Connor while the reprogrammed Terminator protects him. A climatic battle between the two Terminators in the end results in the destruction of the prototype as well as the noble, self sacrifice of the guardian Terminator.

Notice any similarities there between T2 and T3? Sure you did because T3 is just T2 with more eye candy and a whole lot weaker plot. T3 could easily be considered a rejected script for T2: Judgment Day. At any rate, the abortion that is T3 should never have seen the light of day. There are numerous loop holes in the logic of T3 and several things that just really stood out as dumb. Let’s review those now.

(Dumb)- the advanced prototype Terminator arrives back in modern day LA and immediately grabs a flashy, high dollar sports car then proceeds to drive like a maniac thus attracting all manner of public as well as law enforcement attention. The Terminator then proceeds to drive around and terminate people without any real regard for stealth. Sure, LA is a big, crazy place, but the amount of bosomy blondes in really tight red dress suits driving around at 90mph in a convertible Lexus and randomly capping people at burger stands can’t be more than a hand full at any given time. Also, as a police officer, I know that when the officer pulled over the Lexus, he would have called in the make, model, and tag. Other officers would have been en route to back up the officer who stopped the Lexus, especially if it failed to yield to blue lights or he had to chase it a short bit. Once they arrived, or the dead officer failed to call in within two minutes (dispatch would check on his status often, especially on a traffic stop), other officers across the city would be on the look out or in pursuit of the Lexus. At least in T2:JD, the T1000 was smart enough to mimic a police officer, take the patrol unit, and access the LAPD central computer system in its quest to find John Connor.

(Dumb)- if the T-X can produce weapons out of its body, why does it need a Glock to carry out its mission? When it pulled up to the drive-thru at the burger joint to kill the first victim on its termination list, it would have made more sense if it had simply created a finger spike and run it through the eye socket of the kid at the window, like the T1000 did with the security guard at the insane asylum in T2. That would have been quicker … and far more silent. As it was, the T-X pulls up, shoots some guy in the face at the drive through window, then hauls ass away. Guess what? People call the police and they all pile on the area to look for the Lexus. Again. Obviously, the T-X isn’t programmed for tactics, common sense or stealth. She could have just stabbed the guy at the window then slowly drove off. No one would have heard a gunshot, or the guy dying, and no one would have been the wiser except when they discovered the body hanging out the window of the restaurant and by then the T-X would have made a clean get away.

(Dumb)- Arnold returns as our favorite cyborg. Again. Making this three movies in a row with the probability of this happening in real life being less than nil. Yawn. We are to believe that SKYNET made a bunch of Terminators that look like Arnold, then a few others. Somehow, the Resistance keeps using the same model over and over again. Oh, wait, this time Arnold is a T850, not a T800. Apparently the difference between this unit and the previous one is that this one is powered by two hydrogen fuel cells located in his chest behind an armored panel and that you can remove these if they are damaged and throw them like small nuclear bombs.

(Dumb)- Once again, Arnold has to find a pair of sunglasses to wear at night. Either Corey Hart did the core programming which the Terminators were based off of or moon light is bad for their optics. Why doesn’t the T-X wear sunglasses all the time? it must have more advanced optics. If you remember back to 1984, the original reason why the T800 wore sunglasses at night was because it had done surgery on its organic eye and had to remove it due to battle damage, this left a huge gaping hole in its face where you could see the optics and parts of the hyperalloy skull. The sunglasses were simply camouflage. In T2 and T3, the sunglasses become fashion accessories. Who knew Terminators cared anything about fashion? Groan.

(Dumb)- The T-X can imitate any human it touches by physical sampling and contact, yet apparently it has to lick blood to read DNA patterns with its tongue. You would think that the T-X could simply dip a finger in the blood and read the DNA that way Comparing DNA must be more complicated than imitating another human being down to every nook, cranny, skin fold, and hair follicle.

(Dumb)- The T-X is more advanced that the T1000, so why is it endoskeleton based? Why does it have a solid form at all? The T1000 was composed of millions, perhaps billions of individual machines. The T-X seems to be some form of advanced endoskeleton that is covered in a poly-mimetic alloy or material. That would, in essence, make it inferior to the T1000 in design since it has a solid core as opposed to the T1000’s total liquid metal construction. Perhaps the T-X exists between the T-800 series and the T1000 series. That would make more sense, given what we are shown in the movies. I don’t think SKYNET would take a step backwards in technology and design. The T1000, no matter what is shown in the movie, still seems to be the most advanced Terminator design. Also, if the T1000 can’t form complex mechanical objects like weapons, chemicals, bullets, etc., then how can the T-X do so? I guess technology really does change (at least between movies).

(Dumb)- Where does the T-X get the fuel for its built-in flamethrower?

(Dumb)- John Connor doesn’t even know where his mother is buried. He doesn’t even know his mother was cremated. Apparently he was with her during her final years of fighting leukemia, but after that, he lost track of her at the very instant that she died. I find that odd. However, the T-850 knows everything about Sarah Connor, and it found this out through Kate Brewster in the future (apparently), so if John didn’t know, how did Kate know? If Kate didn’t know, how did she program the T-850 with the information?

(Dumb)- Sarah Connor died of leukemia in Mexico which is a crappy way to write such a main character out of the story. They should have left Arnold out of the movie as well. His appearance did more to damage the continuity / credibility of the franchise than it did to help it. In the T2:JD book by Randal Frakes, Sarah Connor does die, but she dies escorting a convoy of supplies up from Mexico when it is ambushed by multiple HKs. John receives the news of his mother’s death just as SKYNET falls, so it is a bitter victory since his mother just died, and he is also about to send Reese (his father) back in time to his eventual death at the hands of the first Terminator. Here is the excerpt from the T2 novel which proves this.

“Fuentes had brought him the news. John had been crouched in a blasthole crater, giving final instructions to a squad of soldiers still in their teens. They were bright, eager, and dispensable. They would all later die in a diversionary battle that would lead to a major victory. As he watched them snake out into the moonlit ruins, Fuentes turned to John, struggling to remain calm as he gave his nightly field report. The supply convoy from Mexico had been ambushed by a squad of HKs. There were no survivors.

John had listened, then only nodded. After all, this was simply one more defeat in a war filled with them. The supplies were important, but there were backups the army could use. And John had steeled himself to loss over the years. People were always dying in this war. Like the squad of teenagers John had just sent out on patrol. The the horror of death could become routine if it happened often enough.

All this Fuentes knew. And in normal circumstances, Fuentes would not have found John’s reaction strange. When he wasn’t needed, the general would often go off by himself to brood, especially after he had ordered hundreds of men into a hopeless battle, just to buy time to build the army. But he would get over it quickly, eager to continue the struggle, driven by a certainty of their eventual victory. The loss of lives was necessary to achieve that victory. But Fuentes also knew what John knew ….

Sarah Connor had been leading that convoy. She had been ordered out of the action, but Sarah went her own way, and few people had the rank or the balls to stop her. Even John was in awe of her. Not only was she a superb combat soldier,, she was also an expert tactician. But sooner or later, even the best soldier can be overwhelmed by superior firepower. As in this case.

So Fuentes found it strange that John simply nodded when he told him his mother was dead. When the news became common knowledge, people who only knew and respected her by reputation would be weeping. Sarah Connor had been almost as legendary as her son.

But all John did was thank Fuentes for the information and stride off.

Later, Fuentes walked in on John, bent over his cot, sobbing. He quietly backed away, not wanting to intrude. It was the only time he had seen the great man cry. Since that time, John had never talked about his mother. It seemed his soul had seeped into the threads of his uniform.”

    -Frakes, “TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY”

(Dumb)- John Connor says he isn’t in “the system,” yet he’s riding a motorcycle. Surely the motorcycle has a license plate if it doesn’t, he’s sure to get noticed by law enforcement and that would lead to all sorts of legal entanglement. As a police officer, I know one of the primary reasons why we pull people over is no visible tag. We won’t discuss his driver’s license either that he had to produce in order to prove he was 21 in order to buy that beer that he’s drinking on the side of the bridge.

If he’s not in “the system” then how did he register for the tag on his motorcycle? Duh!

(Dumb)- The world is being infected by a super computer virus. The last hope of America seems to be SKYNET and bringing it online will allow the AI to go through every computer system in America in a matter of minutes and wipe out the super virus. Huh? Explain the logic in that? One super computer is going to be able to wipe out the virus on every computer in America in a few minutes. Hell! it takes me most of the night on dial-up to download a patch for MS Windows but this super computer is going to somehow reach through the Internet, check my computer, clean off the virus all in a few minutes… right.

(Dumb)- The super computer virus is actually produced by SKYNET and apparently the virus is SKYNET. Huh? So, if SKYNET is the super virus, why does it have to be brought online to complete its takeover of Earth? Think about it. Here is SKYNET, in charge of the nuclear arsenal, it has managed to escape from its super secure installation and infect the entire world with some virus form of itself, yet it needs humans to throw the switch to bring it online, give it freedom, and give it access to the nuclear missiles. How did it do all of that if it isn’t online or if it is shielded from the outside world by impregnable digital security? And if SKYNET was a super virus, why didn’t it just attack some other world defense system, like Russia? I bet they would have had easier missiles to hack and launch than the US does. Hell, if SKYNET was some super computer virus, they didn’t need John Connor, they needed Peter Norton!

(Dumb)- SKYNET is a sentient computer virus. Apparently it has taken control of all data and communications lines in the world and yet it can’t bring humanity to its knees. It controls the flow of all information, all banks, all data, yet life goes on normally. There are no long lines for gas when the credit cards don’t work, there are no riots when banks can’t give out money, the world is going to hell rather nicely, don’t you think? Connor says that SKYNET was on every computer, in every home, dorm room, file server, etc. around the world. Huh? Well, that’s not a good idea, because when SKYNET launches its nuclear strike, nine out of every ten of those computers are going to be destroyed, and the rest won’t have any power to them, so SKYNET would be cutting its own throat by destroying 99.99% of its life / body. If it’s a virus, it must be pretty small and pretty smart, to be able to survive on just a few isolated computers after the nuclear exchange and then to rebuild the world in its own image. Now, if SKYNET were a central computer, a core, protected under Cheyenne Mountain, then yeah, that would make sense. But having SKYNET being some group mind of all the Machines on line and in use by Napster and AOL users just doesn’t work, logically or story wise.

(Dumb)- John Connor is racing his motorcycle at night in the country. He barely misses a deer and wrecks. Where did his bike go? The next thing we know, he’s in downtown LA at a veterinarian clinic looking for drugs. You think he would be smart enough to break into a human clinic, instead of try to apply animal drugs to his system. Also, why is he taking so many chances? I thought he accepted his future in the second movie. In this movie, he’s acting like a spoiled brat again who isn’t getting his way. In the first part of the movie, he pines away for the future that never was, then when he runs smack into it face first, he starts not wanting it. Make up your mind, you whiney baby.

(Dumb)- The T850 reprises the opening scenes of T2 by walking naked into a bar and grabbing some guy and taking his clothes. A redneck four wheel drive with a shotgun in the rear window is conveniently located in the parking lot. The T850 checks the sun visor (something that Connor taught the T800 to do in T2, but did not teach the T850 in this movie, so where did the learned behavior come from?) for keys, finds them, starts the truck and drives away. Nobody gives any pursuit despite some big naked guy coming into a strip bar, beating the hell out of a flaming queen on stage, then walking out and taking someone else’s truck. And why were there rednecks at a bar that had gay strippers? It must have been NASCAR and all you can eat hot wings night….

(Dumb)- John Connor just happens to break into the veterinarian clinic where his future wife / second in command works. His future wife answers an emergency call and finds John has broken into the clinic, a fight ensues, John falls for one of the oldest tricks in the book, and she locks Connor in an animal cage. John is also armed with a paint ball gun, not a real gun. Like a paint ball gun is going to do anything against a Terminator what a pacifist idiot.

(Dumb)- The T-X appears at the veterinarian clinic looking for one of Connor’s future lieutenants. Bonus time! The T-X also finds Connor and his future wife is there? Now how did the T-X know that Connor’s wife was at the clinic on the emergency call? The T-X didn’t intercept any communications and didn’t interrogate the fiance until later.

(Dumb)- how did the T-X know about Kate’s fiance, or where he lived? Were they living together?

(Dumb)- the T-X can use a cellular phone to dial into the LA public education system and pull up records of students, their faces, and where they live. It speaks computer language like a modem over the cellular phone. Shouldn’t it have had this information before it came back in time? The mission seems to be: go back in time, find out who you’re supposed to kill, then kill them. Not a very good mission start.

(Dumb)- The T850 just happens to show up out of the blue in time to save John’s future wife and have a short battle with the T-X. Talk about timing! How did he know where John would be or where the T-X was? I guess John told him in the future “drive real fast to the animal clinic because we’re getting our asses kicked.”

(Dumb)- The T850 says he is an obsolete design, yet he was sent to terminator John Connor and accomplished this goal which makes the T850 more effective than the T800 and the T1000 which were sent to do the same mission and could not accomplish this task.

(Dumb)- The T850 says it was selected because John Connor would have a personal attachment to the model due to his experience with it during his childhood years. How does SKYNET know this information? SKYNET was smashed, destroyed, off line when the Resistance sent back the T800 in the second movie and John wasn’t even born when the first T800 arrived and fought Reese / Sarah Connor. John may remember the T800 from T2, but SKYNET wouldn’t have known that the Resistance sent back the T800 as they did it after SKYNET was beaten. The computer was dead, it couldn’t know this information as this information happened after SKYNET was destroyed.

    (Dumb)- The movie also hints that this Terminator actually killed John Connor in the future. Let’s see if I can explain this. The Resistance can reprogram Terminators that they capture (the process of capturing one would be hard enough, let alone reprogramming one) and until a Terminator is reprogrammed, it is pretty much a killing machine that is very anti-human. So, sometime in the far future, John Connor gets careless or he gets senile, supposedly sees his buddy “the Terminator” in his secret command base and runs up to hug him at which point the T850 simply kills him and Connor probably dies with a very surprised look on his face. Did logic just get thrown out the window on this movie? Yes. Now, logic (something this movie has very little of) would dictate that if Connor saw his buddy from his childhood come walking into his base headed for him, that he would realize two things;

    1) This is the same model or likeness as the Terminator that I sent back to protect myself and

    2) since I haven’t reprogrammed this Terminator yet, it is probably pretty damn dangerous and I need to be chucking some plasma at it right now if I want to live.

Also, you would think that the most important man in the world would be better protected, and that his body guards would be able to recognize Terminators, if not from years of experience in dealing with them, then by having dogs, sensors, etc. If you play the T3 video game, you find out that Connor’s personal guards were about as smart and alert as Amos and Andy when it came to guarding him. Any Terminator could have walked in and blasted John Connor according to how the scene plays out in the video game as Connor is protected by two slack jawed yokels who are half asleep when the Terminator walks in and asks to see John Connor. Like Connor is some kind of loan officer at a bank and the T850 needs to talk to him about a mortgage. Grrrrr.

(Dumb)- If John Connor was dead, why send the T-X back at all? The Resistance would have been dealt a major blow both in morale and leadership, so all SKYNET would have to do is wait for the Resistance to start to fall apart then throw itself at the scattered pocket cells. With Connor gone, SKYNET could cat and mouse the remaining Resistance forces to pieces and achieve victory in a few years at most. For a super efficient, super smart computer, SKYNET really does pull some incredibly dumb ideas.

(Dumb)- SKYNET was smashed in the first and second movie. So in the third movie, how is SKYNET still online, fully functional and able to send advanced Terminators back in time as it pleases? The beauty of the story of T2 was that when you thought that only one Terminator had gone back, you find out that SKYNET had played an ace it had up its sleeve, and thrown all of its luck into one last gamble. T3 pretty much invalidated that story and undermined the whole aspect of T2.

(Dumb)- If SKYNET was destroyed in the past as well as the future, where the heck does the CRS come from? CRS, for those who don’t know, is a popular joke that goes “I suffer from CRS: Can’t Remember Shit.” and in this movie, I think that the CRS labs stands for just that as the producers forgot all about the first two movies, and in trying to follow any plot links to those two. So, if all trace of SKYNET is destroyed in the attack on Cyberdyne, how does SKYNET still come around, and why is the project still called SKYNET? You would think that if all trace were destroyed, that so would be the project and project name. The ending of T2 was also somewhat badly written. Ideally, in the end of T2, after the destruction of the T-800, I felt that everything should whip-snap back into place, and the ending should have shown 1984 again, with the black man in the garbage truck. He would have pulled up to the dumpster, emptied the dumpster, and drove on. In other words, we should have been shown the very first scene of the 1984 movie as if nothing had happened because SKYNET would never have been created, and none of this would have ever taken place. But then, that wouldn’t allow for any sequels in the past, only in the future and the future war. Pity that Cameron didn’t seal the ending of T2 better, if he had, we probably would never have had to witness the franchise partial birth abortion that was T3: ROTM.

(Dumb)- The T-X has the ability to infect other machines and take them over. This might work for automated assembly lines and computer systems, but when she infects a couple of police cars and an ambulance, you have to wonder where the extra controls miraculously spawn from. The accelerator is driven by the power of a human working the pedal, ditto for the transmission shift lever. Logically, you would need additional levers, pulleys, and gears to drive a vehicle designed for human control. Since it takes a human to work the brakes and shift the transmission, logically, a bunch of little machines aren’t going to be able to reconfigure these aspects of the car to work by remote control unless they cannibalize large parts of the car’s structure to construct these new contraptions. Just putting some nanobots into the system isn’t going to get the job done. it must have been nano-magic, which is what it amounts to in the end. The effect was seriously, seriously dumb. She might as well have waved her hand and done some effect from one of the Harry Potter movies and it would have made just as much sense. The T1000 was made of nano-machines, and it couldn’t infect other machines.

(Dumb)- The T-X chooses a giant crane as its pursuit vehicle. If you have ever been around these monsters, you know that the two things that they do not have are speed and handling, two critically important aspects of pursuit. Even the T1000 was smart enough to get a police car and later a police motorcycle for pursuit. The T-X doesn’t seem to be very good at creating a low profile during its mission, it seems to prefer to drive as fast as possible in straight lines, kill everything between it and its target, and make a mess of the landscape. The T850 shows some better intelligence by getting a police motorcycle to follow the T-X.

(Dumb)- why doesn’t the general know his daughter has been kidnapped? I guess the super computer virus that is affecting all the phone systems could explain it. Everyone in the movie seems to know that the General’s daughter has been kidnapped, hell a pair of detectives goes to visit the fiance, but no one tells the General?

(Dumb)- If the credit card data line is down at the convenience store, why does the store phone still work, allowing the clerk to call in the police on our three heroes? it would seem that if all communications were down or on the blink globally, as was hinted at, that the land line would also be down as well duh. Even Kate Brewster’s cell phone quit working due to the super virus infecting all the data systems, yet we’re to believe that way out in the middle of nowhere, some clerk has access to the last working phone line and uses it to call the cops on our heroes? Right.

(Dumb)- the whole silly doctor Silberman scene. Why? What purpose other than some really dumb slap-stick like lame comedy interlude to remind us of the bumbling idiot psychologist from T1 and T2? This is one scene that could have been deleted and not affected the movie in the least.

(Dumb)- the idea that they could get a SWAT team together out in the county in such a short time, right on the heels of our heroes. Oh no, it’s another good Terminator vs. SWAT team scene taken straight out of the end of T2. Yawn.

(Dumb)- when did they start making bulletproof coffins? How did Connor fit in the coffin if the Terminator took out just one weapon from the cache (the .30 machinegun)? The coffin was full of weapons and even an RPG. That must have been a really tight fit for John.

(Dumb)- I think the idea of firing a Soviet built RPG Rocket Propelled Grenade inside a vehicle isn’t very bright. The rocket exhaust should have set most of the front seat on fire and deafened Connor. What part of rocket propelled did the story writers not understand?

(Dumb)- the idea that Judgment Day is inevitable. Only when it comes to making more movies and raking in the profits. If this movie had dealt with John Connor after Judgment Day, in the future against the Machines, it would have not only of made sense, but been a much better movie as well.

(Dumb)- during the height of a national crisis, when the entire nation is on the brink of a security disaster, when the most powerful man in the nation is the general in charge of SKYNET, you would think that security at that installation would be air tight. So, explain how John Connor, the general’s daughter, and a somewhat shot up Terminator just happen to walk into the middle of the command center without attracting just a tiny bit of attention from the security guards that may be located from the entrance of this structure all the way to the command center? Explain to me how the T850 can walk into one of the most secure installations in the nation while openly carrying a sawed off assault rifle and other weapons? Even the general hints at this when the T-X approaches him disguised as his daughter and says Daddy! and the General says How did you? Also, where did the T-X get the Glock that she shoots the General with? She didn’t have it after the wreck with the trucker and her choice of using the flame thrower. Most military installations use 9mm Berettas or .45 Colt pistols, not Glocks. You would think something as advanced as the T-X wouldn’t need to use silly handguns to accomplish its mission but this T-X can’t seem to put down the Glock.

(Dumb)- the time line is off. Look at the age of John Connor, his age makes no sense if the first movie took place in 1984 and the second took place in 1991. John would have had to have been seven in the second movie, but he’s apparently around fourteen or fifteen, meaning that T2 takes place sometime in 1997 or 1998 so there’s a six year or so gap in logic. Connor is not the age that he should be in the film. The error is compounded in this movie as well.

(Dumb)- how can the T-X infiltrate the SKYNET command center when it still looks the same, just in a uniform? Wouldn’t security stop any unfamiliar people trying to enter what has to be one of the most top secret / secure installations in America if not the world?

(Dumb)- the T-X has some interesting weapons. Why does it have a saw? That seems like an odd weapon to include on something that can rip a door off of a truck. Where does the T-X carry the fuel for its flame thrower? If it can regenerate, why can’t it repair its primary weapon when the weapon is damaged since the weapon is made from the same material as the T-X? A flame thrower would seem to be a short range weapon, and not a very good choice for pursuit. Ever try to run and chase someone with a garden hose? I bet you got wet as well. Same principle applies to using a flame thrower for pursuing your target as the philosophy of don’t spit into the wind.

(Dumb)- If SKYNET is in control of the complex, why does it need the T-X to infect the T100s with nanos and let them loose on the control personnel? Couldn’t SKYNET just bring the T100s on line and order them to kill everyone by reprogramming them itself?

(Dumb)- how does SKYNET know that the T-X is working for it? It hasn’t created the T-X yet, it doesn’t know what the killer machine is doing in its installation other than killing people that it wants to have killed, so why doesn’t SKYNET turn its defenses on the base personnel and the T-X as well. Logically it would. I mean, what else is SKYNET going to do, ask the T-X what it is doing and believe the T-X when it says that over three decades in the future, that SKYNET invents time travel and sends the T-X back in time to make sure that it goes sentient and gains control? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

(Dumb)- why are the hallways at SKYNET central command big enough to let wide tracked killing machines roam freely up and down them?

(Dumb)- why would you use high explosive rockets around delicate computer equipment in order to defend yourself? Shooting up the entire command center seemed kind of dumb especially from SKYNET’s perspective. It was simply destroying large parts of its own body in an attempt to get rid of key personnel and intruders. The next time you have a gnat or ant crawling on your arm, get your friend to whack it with a baseball bat, as hard as he can. Then you will learn about the concept I’m trying to teach you here.

(Dumb)- If the T-X is being absorbed into the particle accelerator, how does it find the strength to use its saw to free itself? If it can use its saw with such ease, why didn’t it do it to begin with?

(Dumb)- if being frozen severely damaged the T1000 in T2, then why doesn’t being pulled apart on an atomic level by intense magnetic fields damage the T-X in T3? Or better yet, why is the T3 pulled apart at all by the particle accelerator? The AK isn’t pulled apart when John loses it. You would think that the T-X would simply be stuck to the accelerator array until the cycle was complete and the accelerator powered back down.

(Dumb)- How does the T-X know Connor is headed to Crystal Peak?

(Dumb)- How does the T850 know where the T-X is going? Neither of the vehicles which the two Terminators procure have radar to track Connor. It could guess that the T-X was following Connor and Brewster, but it couldn’t be sure.

(Dumb)- How the T850 uses its good programming to overcome the nano virus attack by the T-X, an attack that nothing else has been able to fend off. Also, if shutting down its power defeats the nano infection, then the cops could have just turned off their police cars and stopped the nano infection there as well. Like I have said before, this nano-magic was just a really bad idea that was never explained and was used to the point of being silly and absurd.

(Dumb)- If the T850 is powered by two hydrogen fuel cells, and it lost one in the desert, why does it continue to operate when it removes its last power cell for use in the destruction of the T-X?

(Dumb)- where did the T850 hide its extra arm? If it is holding up the blast door with one arm, and grabs hold of the crawling T-X with the other arm, where does it find a free arm to open its chest, grab its last power cell, grab the T-X, pull it back, shove the power cell in its mouth and clamp down and hold it there? If it used only two arms, wouldn’t the blast door have descended and crushed them both?

(Dumb)- why do the most advanced prototype Terminators always make evil faces and scream like whipped banshees when they are finally beaten. They go from surgical precision to the demeanor of a wolf being dragged off by its hind leg to an ax killing. You didn’t see the T800 act like that in the first movie when it was about to be pressed flat. The T1000 in T2 was a drama queen, splashing around in the molten steel like a 2 year old in a kiddy pool. The T-X wasn’t any better, snarling and salivating like a feral animal. I just don’t get it. The T800 in the first movie went out the best, it continued to try to kill Sarah Connor even when it was being crushed flat, the advanced Terminators simply howl and whine and scream and throw temper-tantrums when they are defeated. Hardly what I would expect from such advanced machinery.

(Dumb)- if the Crystal Peaks fallout shelter has computer equipment in it that is thirty years old, what do you think the food stocks are like? it would stand to reason that the command, control, and communication systems would be modern, and the food supplies and equipment well stocked, but Crystal Peaks has all the look of an abandoned fallout shelter from the Cold War era. I hope Connor remembered to pack a sandwich. it looks like it’s going to be a long, hungry nuclear winter for him and Kate.

(Dumb)- If the T850 self terminates and destroys the T-X, then at the end, why does the light in its skull slowly go out apparently hours after the nuclear war? Those must be some power reserves!

(Dumb)- the soundtrack was abysmal, it carried no feeling, no emotion, and was less exciting than elevator music. You probably could have removed the soundtrack completely from the movie and not missed it at all.

(Dumbest)- SKYNET isn’t a specific computer or AI, it’s apparently a super computer virus and it’s on every single computer in the world and spreading through the internet! See! Downloading pirated MP3s will eventually destroy the world. A super computer virus. Huh? Well, that bit of retarded tasting brain candy just invalidated the first two movies, now didn’t it?

SIGN THE PETITION. It can’t hurt.

  342. Okay, Snake, I’ll go along with ya and try to get my closure in only 5 more seasons.

  343. Just sent Peter Roth my Salvation tickets with a hand written appeal to save TSCC

    “Peter Roth

@Amy… Gladly signed the petition, and still sending emails.

No quitting allowed, quitters get chopped up and ground into pancake batter to send fox.

Keep emailing Kevin at fox: kevin.reilly@fox.com he really does like it, I use the subject lines in my email as a kind of twitter to kevin of my whole day as I send him
emails, it keeps it fun and can be pretty funny and crazy, if ya let it. Yeah I know he probably never looks at them, but somebody has to dump them.

  344. Saw T4 on Monday. Well, the best thing I can say is that it was better than T3 but not by much. Sort of a rip off of bits from Transformers, Matrix, Aliens, etc. The actors did a good job. But a Human Resistance with above ground bases, airfields, helos, A10s, give me a break. Where’s the avgas coming from? This McG dude doesn’t know jack about what Terminator is all about. If WB wants to continue the fanchise they need to bring back James Cameron. The writing was OK, if you like a story made up of ripped off bits from Transformers, Matrix, Aliens, etc. There were half a dozen TSCC episodes that were better written. I’ll send my ticket stubs to WB tomorrow. Keep the faith.

  345. A great read if you haven’t found it already:

    http://io9.com/5270601/terminator-salvation-made-me-miss-sarah-connor-chronicles-more#c

For me this was pretty spot on.

  346. Quite a few reviews like io9 showing up, I keep pasting those type links in my emails to kevin too.

  347. Haven’t seen T4; ain’t gonna see it. I prefer T/SCC the way my mind’s eye has it recorded. I believed the machines were becoming more human (Cameron dancing for instance) while the humans were becoming more machine-like (John’s inability to feel love for Riley as an example).

I thought at some point the meld could be so complete that neither Skynet or the humans would be able to tell the difference between the two. That would have given John and Cameron the go-ahead for a relationship. I even felt that John had left his DNA inside Cameron during the scene with him on top of her; which would have allowed her to form a composite being comprised of his genetic code and her engineering magnificence; a “child” if you will.

I think I’ll hang on to that impression, knowing Cameron would have made a great mother, and that her child would be the bridge between man and machine.

  348. Hey guys some people were discussing ratings on one of the forums so i had a look and it’s all rather interesting.

Fox talks rubbish about always supporting the show etc. BOLLOCKS!
    Ratings:
for the first 13 episodes of season 2 it was relatively consistant with 5-6 million viewers.
Then it went on hiatus for 3 months where everyone forgot what happened…and they also moved it to friday. the ratings dropped to about 3.5 then the fans sat through those 3 infamous episodes….and the ratings dropped to 2.5.,..then literally 1 week later word got out and it jumped back to 3.5-3.8 million.

Seems to me if they put it on a better night we would easily have at least 5- 6 million…and with terminator salvation there would probably be maybe 0.5- 1 million extra viewers. so lets say 6.5 million live. From the looks of it there was also at least 1.5 million DVR viewers every week.

so there’s their precious 8 million viewers which is apparently where your show needs to be in order for it to definately be renewed. And that’s just in the US. i gurantee if they count around the world there would be millions upon millions more!!

Those execs at fox really need to get it together and do the damned math!

  349. I deleted Fox from my tv. Nothing worth watching anymore.

  350. Summer would be great in this role, get over and vote!

  353. According to this article on ign, the SCC S2 DVDs will be released on September 15th. It sucks since we have such a long wait, but hopefully it’s because of a sh*tload of extras! Can anyone from the staff confirm this date? Hadley, are you still out there? :)

    http://dvd.ign.com/articles/985/985902p1.html

Hopefully we’ll see more bloopers and I’d love to see Lena and Thomas do commentary together again. Those two are so funny together!

Josh said on the http://www.savethescc.com chatroom that there’s “great stuff on s2 dvd. commentaries, lots of special docs. they spent a day filming us in the writers room. good stuff.” Josh also mentioned in that chat that Allison from Palmdale, Samson and Delilah, Adam Raised a Cain, and Born to Run are the eps with commentary.

Every other FOX show from this season like House, Lie to Me and Dollhouse all get released earlier in the summer on DVD. Guess WB is slow on the uptake…

    Il Principe
” Its either the Roxy Bisquaints or the Aurum1s you’re going to alienate. I am happy you chose to alienate the latter.”

You guys can cheerlead Josh all you want, until fox removes this website, for all I care. But I know it’s his fault the show tanked. Even if Josh’s vision wasn’t the preferred one, it was executed poorly, with poor narrative structure and barely any coherence.

    Ask yourself some questions:
    1. Did Cameron mean it when she told John she loved him?
    2. How did Cameron override her order to kill John? Why?
    2. Did you get a satisfying answer for the significance of the Three Red Dots? (It’s not the Turk, it didn’t have three dots in Season 1, and it doesn’t even make sense)
    3. How is it that Sarah actually stumbled and bumbled her way upon an HK prototype using the “three dots” clue, when the “three dots” leads to the Turk/Zeiracorp, not to bloody Caleda, who manufactured the HK prototype?
    5. Dr. Sherman - was he targeted for assassination by pretzel Termie? Or was she there to protect him? How did he matter to the future if he ended up being dead two episodes later?

Other questions we’ll never get the answer to:
    1. What made Weaver change her mind about an alliance with Connor?
    2. Was that even her onboard that sub?
    3. Did John Henry’s personality merge with Cameron’s?
    4. Why did they jump into the future?
    5. If John Henry’s not Skynet, how does Caleda/Skynet survive the destruction of Cyberdyne?
    6. Did Cameron jump into the past of her own initiative after the failure of the alliance with the rebel machines, or was she sent by John?
    7. What happened to Derek in the basement in Season 1?
    8. If John Connor’s so critical to the future, how is it that a coherent resistance survives until 2027 without him? Seriously, WTF?

All these questions, and more, prove that even if Josh’s vision was the correct one for the show then he executed it poorly.

  356. Sept 15th? Good lord.

  357. @aurum1

I take it you don’t like a sense of mystery.

WE NEED SEASON 3 FOX! Fuck YOU KEVIN Reilly

  359. I insist, email all these comments to fox, let them hear us

  360. Wow..

I can’t believe they did it.

  361. @ Aurum1:
The answer is: 42. Glad I could help you!

  362. For those who want a little (dark) SCC humor, here’s a link:

    http://io9.com/5265243/how-fox-chooses-shows

    I say it’s a pretty accurate representation of a FOX executive’s mindset! :)

  363. http://www.digitalspy.com/cult/a157332/summer-glau-joining-dollhouse.html

Happy for Summer, sad for us. Not only did Fox stick it too us and keep dollhouse, now
it looks like dollhouse gets our girl. I love Summer, but……….. I don’t do dollhouse.
Can the screw over from Fox be anymore complete???

  364. Dollhouse is a dumb show. Screw Fox!

  365. @Robert

“Can the screw over from Fox be anymore complete???”

LOL, I agree completely! I love Summer, but I’m a Lena fan first and foremost and I think her being on FOX again would be the only thing that would get me to turn on that network again. What is this, Dollhouse offering jobs to former SCC cast as a lame consolation prize now that they have no job?! Whatev… :(

  366. Sorry, FOX. I won’t be watching Dumbhouse even with Summer in it; which means I won’t be seeing the commercials that I would have watched if they were on T/SCC. Screw you back.

  367. Enough with the Dollhouse hate, its a good show. don’t take it out on it just because Terminator got canceled. If Summer wasn’t in Dollhouse, she wouldn’t be in anything. not for a while any way. Just enjoy being able to watch her in Something. not being in Dollhouse wouldn’t have brought back our show, and even if our show was brought back, I have no doubt it would take priority for her.

By the way, Josh has reiterated in an interview once again that he has no hope for the show anymore. I cant say I do either.

  368. lolDollhouse that is all

  369. Did you see BAG and Summer in Tokyo today promoting TSCC DVD’s?
Theyre still being active for the show, in this capacity anyway.
Great to see them still out there for TSCC.

    http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/35636920.html

The link about Dumhouse is Joss wishing he had Summer, thats all that is, nothing more.

  370. Boycott both Dumhouse and FUX network !!!

  371. At least they don’t want Summer play a doll. I would have them for prostituting Summer out like they do to other dolls. She’s too good for that. and I like the idea of having Summer talk, cos she sure doesn’t talk a lot in her roles and I like her voice and the way she talks. could be good.
anyway I’ll watch anuthing with Summer in it. She is the best!

  372. Brian and Summer in Tokyo promoting Tscc are great !
It’s curious…a canceled show that is still airing in the world (here in italy it’s on 2X18 episode), it’s gonna air (probably with success) in japan.
Once again , my only thought is : i’m so sad.

Sad for marketing’s choose by Wb (while they ‘re launchin Salvation, they kill Tscc, pretending that these fans go happily to see Salvation in cinema…bah !),
sad because this was an amazing show,
    sad about that rating number,
sad about that marvellous characters (i hope Dekker is going to be the future Connor in next films).

About Summer and Dollhouse, yeah, it should be like an easy calculation :
    Whedon + Summer = 1 +1 = 2
But i think that in Dollhouse she probably would have a sub-role as a Doll…
Will summer accept this? Is Whedon going to create something really new for our best actress?
I think she could be a bit tired about “freaky” characters..
.i think also that it could be time for Summer to jump in a solid hollywood production in cinema, lefting tv and tv-show for a bit…she’s perfect and she’s a kickin ass actress !

I read about Josh’s opinion, and i’m agree with him: he hasn’t any power about show’s future, he’s the art director and developer…but franchise is of Wb and Halcyon. If they decide that it’s over..it’s over. For now…

    We are the resistance !
    Waiting for Salvation…

  373. Just forget…
i’ve just bought TSCC season 1 blu -ray from amazon Uk.

    My god…it’s amazing !!

Thanx Josh and all for this show.

  374. http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/35636920.html

I’m glad to see she is observing proper gun safety with her finger control in the two pics where she is holding a firearm. :)

  375. @Knuttypoo

LOL, I was thinking the same thing, that Summer had proper gun handling etiquette! Well, it’s good to take some skills set from the SCC days! :)

  376. @aurum1:

    >If John Henry’s not Skynet, how does Caleda/Skynet survive the destruction of Cyberdyne?

Daily software backups + Uncle Bob’s hand on the factory. Possibly some other remaining of Uncle Bob.

    ——
    ReCaptcha: “fictions men”

  377. @Roman: I absolutely agree, Summer is far too classy to play the role of a doll. She needs to stay above such portrayals.

@ Knuttypoo, Annie: Yeah, that always drove me nuts. If you look at most of the SCC promo shots everyone has their fingers on the trigger. I’m glad to see she’s showing the proper technique. She’s starting to look like a real pro.

  378. watch all my fanmade videos in my youtube account… =)

  379. Tonight. Sci Fi Forums. Take back the future. Take back TSCC.

Every friday. Let our voices be heard. Make your post here, please:

    http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2332484

E-mail Sci Fi and Warner Bros:

    feedback@scifi.com

    Scott.Rowe@Warnerbros.com
    Bruce.Rosenblum@Warnerbros.com
    Peter.Roth@Warnerbros.com

    Hang in there, baby!

  380. Don’t forget to keep voting for Summer on the TV favorite female actress. The teenie boppers are putting in a lot of votes for miley cyrus and Summer is down to 72% with 26.4M votes. She gave us so much enjoyment on TSCC we should help her out.

  381. I agree that it is time for Summer to be a big movie star. She has potential to win an Oscar, she just needs a good role where she can shine.
My favorite thing about Summer Glau is that she can change dramatically very fast and that makes her a wonderful actress. I’ve never seen anyone do that. She really is a great actress, no doubt and drop dead gorgeous as well!

FOX did a piss poor job promoting TSCC and giving it crappy timeslots and also lack of action and lack of Cameron hurt it quite a bit. TSCC could be the biggest hit show out there with only a few tweaks. Hope someone smart picks it up and gives it a real chance.

  382. I still miss this show :|

  383. Fight on Resistance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got off a long chat with they Ash man, and they are still invested in this show.
There is still reason to hope.

    VLR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  384. He said we should all send pancake batter to Reilly.

  385. you really think we should still try and get fox to pick it up? I think most of the fans have gotten over fox and are trying for scy-fy or another channel…
By the statement reilly gave when they asked him why TSCC wasn’t coming back…it really sounded like he didn’t like the show and he didn’t care at all about all it’s fans…

  386. “At least they don’t want Summer play a doll. I would have them for prostituting Summer out like they do to other dolls. She’s too good for that.”

Do you even watch the show? They don’t lend All their dolls out for sex. people see a few cases of that and assume thats the whole show. stop being so close minded and you might enjoy it.

  387. Last night Ash man joined a chat again on savethescc and it sure sounded to me like he’s not letting go of the show by any means. He said he’s only pretending to work on Fringe.

I dont know if they’ll put out a transcript this time (it would be really hard to edit, with Dallison and necrophelia, etc… ) (the Dallison tangent was hillarious) but Ash said that James Middleton is still working behind the scenes like a stealth ninja trying to find a home for TSCC.

So theres stuff going on out of public view that we dont see, and our job is to keep up just as much noise and pressure as we possibly can. Someone asked him what we should do, and he basically said keep up what we’re already doing.

This all from memory, and I was blurry cuz it was late, so if anyone else was there, I’d love to hear their take on it, too. But his comments about James Middleton sounded like reason for hope.

His comment about sending pancake mix to Reilly was just a joke (I think).

Come on, Resistance, this fight isnt over!!! Buck up!!!

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! V L R !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  388. I’m with you Jday. I hope there is truly some behind the scenes efforts going on. I thought I would be over missing this show by now but I still find myself wondering what Cameron would be up to this week if we had our show back. I have 2 businesses to run and I can’t believe that something like this would occupy my mind. It just goes to show you how good this show was and how good it could have been in the future. It was the only time in the week I could really stop working and enjoy something.

  389. TO: Kyle Maloney

I enjoy the Dollhouse actually. I’m not a hater. It is an interesting show. But they do pimp dolls out for sexual pleasures both males and females and we saw Echo doing it all the time and some other babes. Victor too. So it implies that some sort of prostitution is deffinetly going on in there.
I don’t want to see Summer do that or even play a character that might do that or be forced to do that. That was my point.

  390. Snake, I hear you.
TSCC works on so many levels and touches people in so many different ways. It really is something special.
Its been a rough couple of weeks since we got axed, but it was great to see Summer and BAG doing promo for TSCC in Tokyo, and then to have Ash show up last night to chat with the fans again.
This fight aint over just cuz some pointy-head pencil-neck beancounter necktie FUX executive says it is. They tried to tell us to go sit down and shut up cuz we’re cancelled, but no, you dont tell that to the Resistance.
We’re an onery bunch. This fight aint over til we say it is.
We call ourselves the Resistance, but Ash and JF were saying that we should call our movement the Crazy Fuckers. Of course, that wont catch, but I kind of liked it.

  391. Good to hear something positive from Ash, everything I have read from JF, sounds like he can’t pack up his tent fast enough.

  392. So, no more “Thank you for explaining” comments from Cameron, or “Run, John!” screams from Sarah. Like everyone else, I’m obliged to say it was my favorite show. I even liked the “slow” episodes, like Self Made Man. It was a nice change of pace, to watch Cameron doing some research and finding the terminator sealed in the building wall, waiting to assassinate the Governer of California (!).

Alisha asked if it could be picked up by the Space Channel (and syndicated to similar channels across the world). Let’s hope it does, or the cast will quickly find other projects to work on, and it won’t be the same show if they bring it back a year to two from now.

  393. please guys, dont give me hope if there is none. is there really a chance that the show will be back?

T4 really sucked. the end of the franchise if you ask me. but SCC is so good on so many levels it really deserves to come back. i really looked forward to it every week.

for advertisers: 55, male, BS engineering, MS statistics, engineering manager, 152K salary, i.e. not a lust filled teen for summer (ok, a little bit.)

  394. Is there any chance to renew this show? With WarnerBros’s help maybe :(

  395. @yazoalp

Mhh…i saw Wb & halcyon behaviour in confront of Tscc-…
They used it as only as a “promotional veichle ” to Salvation, and killed it some days befor Salvation aired on cinemas…

maybe, if rating were much higher, they could have programmed another season for the future. But in this situation, i guess they are looking for Salvation’s performance (not really explosive, right now …).

If there will be a huge amount of cash from Salvation, and they are going to program a 5th film, maybe they could fill the time with Tscc again…

This is , i guess, the only situation in wich they would promote another season.
    am i wrong?

  396. If we try and fail, at least we tried and didnt just quit. It is worth it. We need all you guys back on board. If you copy and paste the addresses, its only 3 quick e-mails each day. At least do the minimum:

    askfox@fox.com
    preston.beckman@fox.com
    kevin.reilly@fox.com

    Scott.Rowe@Warnerbros.com
    info@thehalcyoncompany.com
    Bruce.Rosenblum@Warnerbros.com
    Peter.Roth@Warnerbros.com

    feedback@scifi.com

Of course, snail mail hits the hardest:

    “Peter Roth
    President, Warner Bros. Television Group
    4000 Warner Blvd
    Burbank, CA 91522″

And phone calls carry a lot of weight:

    SciFi network: 212-664-4444 212-664-6941

Fans are all logging onto the SciFi forum this Fri at 8pm E time to let them know they should pick up TSCC.
    http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2332484

Ash said the other night that James Middleton is still trying to swing a deal, “like a ninja,” exploring every avenue, “believe me.” I’ve read that JM was really one of the main drivers/producers behind TSCC. If this is true (direct words from Ashman) then right now is critical, and we need to help validate his sales pick with buzz, e-mails, phone calls, letters…

We need people to come back and join the fight again. So many have left us.
    Lets give it a shot.

    Some people never quit.
    Some people always fight.
No fate but what we make.
    Venceramos!

  397. I will be putting my letter in the mail to Peter Roth tomorrow.

  398. Just posted the following massage on Summer-Glau.net comment’s box:

@ All the Resistance Fighters, Brown Coats and Summer fans in general:

The Resistance is trying to convince Sci Fi Channel to negotiate with Warner Bros. in order to buy the broadcasting rights and start showing season 1 and 2, so that they could see that that is good for their network and they decide to push for a season 3.

This is a fair opportunity. Sci Fi Channel seems pretty interested on hearing what The Resistance has to say.

Let’s get every Resistance Fighter and Brown Coats of the world to gather in here, every Friday night: http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2332484&st=1180&start=1180

  399. You know The Resistance is a huge and passionate fan base, just like the Brown Coats, so what if we joined forces? What if once the Brown Coats help us to get a season 3 of TSCC we help them back to get another Firefly movie? No-one here can deny that that would be absolutely AMAZING since we might have double Summer awesomeness. ;)

So, please, if you agree, go and post your comment there! :)

Also, I created a thread where you can post your favourite fan arts and fan videos to show your support and get the Scy Fi forum members’ attention and support to our campaign. Please, post your favourites here: http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2332835 :)

    Spread the word!!!

    Hang in there, baby! :D

  400. Glad to hear everyone is still fighting.

Just wanted to add my two cents… Don’t get me wrong, Cameron is a great character. However, it is an ensemble cast and everyone deserves credit for making it a fabulous show.

I hope Fox isn’t getting the impression that Summer is the only reason we watch TSCC. Can’t imagine it without Lena and the others.

  401. @Amy: Indeed. Of course I love every single character and actor, writer, producer and staff member involved, they are a fantastic team and they all love TSCC as much as we do. But, in this particular case, since I think that we need to join forces and push for a third season along with another great fan base like our fellow Brown Coats, our best chance to get to do it is taking our beloved Summer as our common inspiration and motivation. We both want Summer back, as Cameron-Allison and as River Tam as well. That’s my point. ;)

  402. This is from Ed:
“Ash also said that Everybody appreciates how hard THE RESISTANCE is working to get TSCC picked up again and get a Season 3. Ash said that many people involved in The Crew are trying to get us TSCC Season 3 in their own mysterious ways and that they all hoped that we kept Fighting for them and for a Season 3. Ash told me to keep up my TSCC RESISTANCE RALLIES and that many important people are starting to become very happy with the DVD sales.”

I would like to start a campaign for eveyone to go to Amazon and order an extra S1 DVD set. You could give it to a friend and maybe that would encourage them to pre-order S2 for themselves, and thus grow our fan base and DVD sales.

With shipping included, a S1 set costs a little over 20$. Money talks louder than anything else. We would really grab their attention. (and if you have 3 friends and 60 bucks, that would be even better)

  403. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you can stop asking Sci-fi to pick-up TSCC. I just received this twit from one guy at Scifi:

Craigatscifi TSCC fan update: While we have a great deal of respect for the show, economically it’s not feasible for Sci Fi. Sorry gang. Thx 4 ur notes

  404. @Etienne

I never guessed scifi would have picked up T:scc, because they’ve already done they’re programmation, and because this show’s production is possible only with the contribution by Warner Bros and Halcyon.
Remember, was peter Roth by WB who talked to josh, told him about T:scc stop. Reilly by Fox followed franchising’s property in their decision. Nothing more.

Producin T:scc will become possible again only with a new plan by Warner Bros and Halcyon to develop it. Maybe on a WB channel like CW (o CB…i don’t live in Usa).

At that point, they will find a new partner. But for now, their intention is cleat: stop T:scc, come on Salvation for a lot of cash (i hope, but not so sure !!).

Not desperation. it’s the fact. For this, our work to keep up rumour is fundamental !!
    Now, i’m going to see S1 blu-ray…what a show !!

And what if you met a Terminator? I call John Connor….maybe while i’m running :)

  405. Please, people, don’t stop fighting for this show! If you really enjoyed it, DO NOT STOP FIGHTING!!

  406. So where is the party going to be at this coming Friday?

  407. well by the $$$$$ at the box office it looks like T4 tanked big time

  408. Too bad about T4. Not enough small-screen suckers took the bait. Had T/SCC not been cancelled, I venture to say the movie would have sold many, many more tickets; probably to second and third time viewers like myself, who now won’t watch it once. I don’t feel needed anymore; just used by WB.

  409. Mr. Friedman, fight for TSCC! Don’t let us die like lambs! Adjust the cast and crew’s wages if necessary….we NEED more Cameron, Sarah Derek and John. More TSCC!! Fight!!

  410. Vote for Summer! It’s one of those one-day imdb polls.

    http://www.imdb.com/poll/

  411. For those of you who haven’t signed the petition yet…

    http://www.savethescc.com/index.html

    Keep fighting everyone!

  412. I just saw T4….okay movie, but the show was just so much better!

    An Idea:
What if everyone gets their friends that have seen T4 to email the WB (because they probably have all TSCC fans email alerts that they delete…) and tell them that they saw T4 and they started thinking about the show and wondered if they are showing reruns anywhere near you. Then perhaps slip in “when’s the newest season coming out so I can catch up the episodes before then!”

That way it’s NEW fans…which is exactly what they want.

    Anyway, just a thought.

  413. Glau ended up winning that imdb poll.

    http://www.imdb.com/poll/results/2009-06-03

  414. Please sign this petition: //www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/terminator-the-sarah-connor-chronicles.html

We, the undersigned, respectfully urge Warner Bros not to simply allow Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to fade away.

We implore you to keep the show alive for a third season, in some form or another. If a cable network is not a viable option, then please do consider renewing the show in the form of a straight to DVD third season.

We who sign this petition feel a direct to DVD third season would be a viable product for Warner Bros, and we would be willing to pay a little extra to cover the costs of a straight to DVD Season 3 to keep the story going, or at the very least, a feature length finale to provide closure.

  415. Summer wins another poll…thanx to Resistance, we are still here :)
This is what we are and we’re gonna be: a huge kick ass fan base, despite to Wb, Halcyon and Fox intention’s.

New Josh’s feelings on his blog.
    http://hucksblog.blogspot.com/
Thank you for EVERYTHING, Mr.Friedman. Best wishes for your future works!

    See ya !

  416. Josh posted a pretty enlightening post on his personal blog. You guys who keep getting on him about giving up should read it. he’s put up with enough crap to warrant giving up a while ago. its clear we only get one side of this biz.

  417. It is a shame that T4 tanked, but bigger and faster robots and tons of CGI just will not make it anymore………. You need a real plot, and to develop the characters in a some-what intelligent manner.

That is why SCC is such a good show. The characters are interesting, and the plot was good for TV. I had enough ideas to keep the thing going for at least another 3 seasons, and the writers probably did to. For example, just like a season of the Sopranos detailed the way the mob makes money, a season of SCC could focus on the technology and human interface.

But my search sees no real way to bring the show back. It would take serious commitment on the part of WB, and they have no reason to do it.

  418. Nothing on Josh’s personal blog changes my mind, he gave up and basically offered
no support to the fans, suggesting we should just forget our anger instead of trying to motivate us, or maybe like on his blog he does know the “final” outcome and doesn’t want to be that prick……… Ash’s comments have been way more supportive.

  419. It does us absolutely no good to bash JF, regardless of your opinions.

Other fans (e.g. The Browncoats, Trekkies, etc…) have waged successful campaigns, so lets not infight or try to re-invent the wheel. Lets use their past struggles as our example and get to work.

Get on board tonight Resistance fighters from all around the world — theres a Resistance Rally at the WB tonight at 10 til 11 pm Eastern time. As our options narrow, lets hammer the WB, tonight!

    http://www.thewb.com/boards/showthread.php?p=13816&posted=1#post13816

    Viva La Resistance

  420. After reading the guy’s blog, I think it’s obvious J. Friedman was feeling kind of down while he was getting the rug pulled out from under him in slo mo, so we should probably cut the guy a break.

There just weren’t enough anesthetized eyeballs glued to the tube for Fox to make any money selling advertising to sponsors and there wasn’t anything he could do about it.

It’s a dog-eat-dog, BS business. Takes a lot of dinero to make a TV show and it’s not a not-for-profit proposition.

Does that mean people who are interested in seeing the series continue in some fashion won’t get satisfaction? Not necessarily - but it will take someone (or something) with a lot of money who is willing to risk it to pay for the production.

A “Don King” with vision and cajones. Someone call Bill Gates. I am absolutely positive that if 13 - 22 episodes of TSCC season 3 were put in the can and it was made known they could be gotten on DVD for $150 - $200 the production cost would get covered at the very least, just like the boxing promoters get covered on pay per view.

  421. Tell Warner Brothers you are willing to make it worth their while to produce more TSCC content:

    http://www.thewb.com/boards/showthread.php?t=486

I have both the Stargate SG-1 direct to DVD films and I enjoyed them - I heard MGM made some money from the sales.

  422. The WB Rally tonight was a great success — we threw well over 30 pages on the WB thread in just one hour. The Resistance has many really funny and creative members. Some especially fantastic work turned in by Hostile from the Poland Resistance division. We grew the base — alot of first time people showed up to help make our voices louder.

The FRIDAY JUNE 5 (8PM to 9PM Eastern) rally at SciFi is still going on as planned — the more noise we make, the better.

    http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2332484&st=1180&start=1180

    Special pancake rally.

  423. Yeah, let’s tell WB that they can actually stop terminating one of the greatest franchise in fiction history. Hiring McG, who in their right mind… I bet it’s only because they couldn’t get Kenny G!…

Still suffering from withdrawal and T4 certainly didn’t fill the void.
