Totally unrelated, the recent increase in comments here on this blog tell a story of it’s own when you look back in time. Just take /page/37/ (i believe the oldest one, link below) as an example. I really like it, maybe there could be few things to make it better but so far the storyline is great and i really liked when they went deep in each characthers. Things that bothered me is Derek’s death, he was a warrior he survived for how long maybe 30 years in the war. And seeing him just stand there like a retard waiting to get killed is kinda disappointing, maybe he wasnt John’s best soldier after all.. But overall tscc is the best story, i ever watched. And im pretty sure season 3 will be promising, Well just saying this out here for the producer that they did a great job with the series and i hope it will stay. I voted for tscc and i will each days because i owe this to you guys that brought such a great tv shows to us.
Unfortunately an additional 10th hour of american idol each week will be more profitable than any scripted show - all they need to do is cobble together an extra hour of the tens of thousands of hours of American Idol try-outs across the country. No need to pay writers, producers, actors… no scenes to scout or build… all they need to do is pay some 18 year old kid $6 an hour to edit the footage together and then get Ryan Seacrest to say “welcome to another exciting episode of American Idol.”
Eventually Fox will show nothing but American Idol, the Simpsons, and maybe Family Guy (if they don’t cancel it a 3rd time).

its a shame that most of us (TSCC fans) are not of the usual TV-Watchers type.
we watch online /dvr . our way of living is a bit different. and the way rating system goes doesn’t include us. maybe that’s why shows like firefly got canceled in the past. i bet that if the matrix started as a series it will end up being canceled as well.
i konw that online watching is not covered with the same amount of ads . which will decrease its importance to the network.
if its possible to come up with a new formula (ads during the flash /in an intelligent way) will help us in making the network consider these ways of broadcasting.
its not about the number of total viewers ? its about the number of (live TV only viewers) which is really harmful in the case of si-fi shows.
i really hope that fox (and other network owners) consider these parameters in the final evaluation of the show.

I have so many emotions invested in this show that I can’t fathom it ending the way it did. It left so many questions unanswered. Please Fox, renew the show for another season! Give it another chance. Season 2 has been absolutely amazing, and the last 10 episodes have been masterful. You have an amazing cast with amazing talent. Don’t throw it away. This is the 21st century. Not everyone watches it live on TV, or from Fox.com. There are many many places one can watch TSCC that DON’T get counted by the Neilson ratings. You can’t honestly believe that only 3 million people watch this show. Terminator Salvation is going to blow away the box office and if you don’t renew TSCC for another season, you’re all fools.

It has a forum, and image uploader (I haven’t been able to upload one because MySpace is being retarded) and blah blah blah. Everyone is talking about the season finale with praise, the whole internet is a buzz for T:SCC, the show is winning every current award and then again the Nielsen didn’t move a bit. Something is definitively amiss.
Granted that a show that is somewhat hard to follow for the aficionado just can’t see new viewers just drop in for the last ep but the number of ‘regulars’ is grossly underestimated.

I am not really a professional writer, I just used the name to get attention.
I love terminator:Sarah Chronicles;
I do want to say that the characters do drop way too much and I read that the writers for the show felt it was the natural progression of life is to die and that some how killing the characters off was something that had to happen, it’s part of life.
What a bunch of bull, Star Trek, Star Wars, BatMan, and the list goes on for fiction/drama and most of those series the main characters lived. Perhaps it is the writers and producers fault by killing too many main characters and along with those characters went the story.
If you want to resurrect this show I would save the characters and somehow send john back a month earlier into the past from where he left and fix things.
Problem is, would the audience by happy with that or look at it as a scape goat.
I believe the show is revered for its characters and their character story line that the writers gave direction and the actors gave them life and personality.
I writer has to honor the actor and the actor has to honor the writer for one without the other all you have is politics.

With Terminator Salvation launching on May 21st, I don’t think it would be smart for Warner Brothers to allow FOX to cancel a terminator TV show on May 18th. Canceling a Terminator property 3 days before the movie premier could devalue the franchise and have a negative impact at the box office.

Man, the suspense is killing me (and I’m sure everyone else on the crew too). I want to know the shows fate asap. Its gonna be a long wait. Anyone know when they’ll announce weather its been picked up or not? when in May will the list of returning shows pop up? can they wait as long as a week after Salvation hits theaters to decide?

QUESTION REGARDING FOX.COM VIEWINGS:
Does watching an episode multiple times on Fox.com count it twice? If so, is there any diminishing returns? It seems to me that actually watching ads that Fox cares about is more likely to accomplish something that voting multiple times on a poll that doesn’t mean anything to begin with.

But most of the ads seem to be sold one of two ways. The ad company specifically choose TSCC because of the demo’s and what not. Yet others like Snapple just bought time where they could…
I commented that if it were not for TSCC I would not have seen there ads or product placement . I can tell you a lot of the companies wrote back saying they were grateful to hear comments about there ads and where they are shown.

They should wait until T4 hits the screens creates a real buzz, lots of fan, raving reviews, massive revenue and then announce that S3 is picked up and start shooting it right away. They also need to announce that they will work together with T5 staff and include Cameron Phillips (Summer Glau) in T5, making stories interconnected. This will create the biggest HIT of all times. They could do S1-S2 Reruns and make lots of money.
Meanwhile I want my season 2 DVD and Blue Ray, any idea when they are coming out?

With Terminator Salvation knocking the door on may , I think it would be the worst decision ever took by FOX (speaking about money here!) if they don’t pick T:TSCC for another season.

I’m trying to vote atleast 10 times a day. Not as much as others apparently but it’s something.
Time for some Tender (and Tough) Love and Care.
I love this show. I love its storyline and the twists, I love the unique approach it takes to certain issues, I love just about everything about but I especially love the characters.
Sarah’s journey in raising her son to be a great leader in a future that holds only nightmares and how that affects her. But her non-stop determination to never give up no matter how bad the odds are, you just don’t see characters played to that depth on television. Sarah Connor is the ultimate den mother badass who will go through hell and back for her son. I really want to see where she goes from here.
John, future leader of the resistance, destined to save humanity and defeat skynet. The kid never had a real childhood and I think his story is one of the greatest of tragic heroes that I’ve seen in a long time. The first season they went to great lengths to display his innocence but now, after the second has come and gone, we see a sixteen year old with the look of a guy twice his age. You don’t get that anywhere else.
Finally my fav., Cameron. I love Summer Glau and I’m going to watch whatever she’s in because 1. she brings so much to her characters 2. she tries to take parts that empower women and even though I love hockey and chicken wings as much as the next guy I really respect that and enjoy shows of that nature 3. even off the show she’s just sooo… Summer LoL. The thing is that with Cameron she is just so much of a one of a kind character. I can’t imagine when I’ll see another character like her again nor a finer actress to play such a role.
Look I realize all things inevitably come to an end and I’m okay with that. But Born to Run was a terrible series finale that left far too many questions unanswered should it prove to be the last episode. The very last scene shows John’s face full of worry, dissapointment, and myriad of emotions none of which though signify satisfaction or a sense of completion.
What happened this season is simple. In the beginning T:SCC was put in a tough timeslot and didn’t rake in the numbers of the previous season. They switched it out on Friday and even though the numbers were somewhat the same during the first of the back nine afterwards many people didn’t like those first three episodes due to the lack of action when compared with earlier ones. So they flipped the channel and got engrossed with the Ghost Whisperer storyline or they went out to see the Watchmen or they went out to party with some friends.
You may not like it but that is what physically happened, fact.
I love this show, you couldn’t ask me what my least favorite episode was because honestly I don’t have one. My point in this comment is that this show has a lot to answer for because the synopsis was correct, everything changed.
What happened to Sarah? Where’s John Henry and more importantly where’s Cameron? Who’s the brother? Do John and Cameron ever work out the obvious sexual tension between them? What does John’s relationship with his dad become? Does John inevitably keep fighting in the future to defeat skynet or does he go back in time and try to stop Judgment Day? What’s Allison’s role? Without Cameron’s body does “Allison from Palmdale” occur all over again and then once “Allison” is captured by the resistance does John swap her chip with the original Cameron? What becomes of Ellison? What role will John Henry play against skynet? What about Riley, will John attempt to find her and prevent Jesse’s plan? Where did Weaver go?
Trust me there’s more questions but you get the gist. My question now though, is there another show currently on the chopping block with so many unanswered questions as this one? And thus so much room for rapid growth?
T:SCC got cancelled halfway through season two but got a second chance. What happened in the back nine was that audience members got involved in another show’s storyline and kept with it to the end. Like a landslide. T:SCC could’ve put out the best episodes ever but it still wouldn’t have made a difference. That’s why the current system is so flawed. People watch T:SCC. The trick is either to find it a decent timeslot or figure out a way to better advertise by online viewing and DVR.
This show has been cursed with bad luck but still it is one of the best Fox has put out in a long time. Next fall everything starts all over again. Don’t let that second chance be for nothing. Play it right and T:SCC will be a goldmine.

I don’t understand people. I just saw the ratings and about a million more people watched “Wife Swap” than the TSCC finale this past friday. What the hell is wrong with people? Even if you suffer brain damage and like reality shows, it’s not like you don’t know what happens on a show called “Wife Swap” … I hereby side with SkyNet and the Machines - human beings do not deserve to continue to live, and we should all be wiped off the planet. Compare that to dollhouse…… And you notice the difference. The domestic ratings of TSCC aren’t great we, can’t dent it. But when you look at the whole picture, theirs a lot more to it than just Neilson ratings. We just have to get the fan-base together!
TSCC was my favorite show this season. For me, it surpassed 24 and Lost. This season was increadible. It was unfortunate that the time slot was Friday night — and perhaps that is why there are rumors of Season 2 being the last season, but I really hope not. In fact that would be depressing. It’s a great show. TSCC should be on Thursday nights. There is no shows that night that come close and viewership will spike. Plus, with the release of the moview — viewership will spike. THERE MUST BE A SEASON 3!
Nielsen ratings are absolutely fake, outdated and tampered with. If those flawed statistics tell that just in the US 3 or 4 million viewers where watching TSCC then it’s highly likely that the right number of actualy viewers would be around 15-20million.
Nielsen it’s a shame, and it’s disgusting the fact that networks and studios managers still in 2009 decide their business plans on that flawed system.
It’s quite obvious that Nielsen numbers can be tampered with based on personal managers/networks gains anyway. If there are some wanting a show to be canceled to promote something else then numbers will fall. Many managers need something new each year or a couple years despite quality and what viewers are really watching simply because that’s a trick to get more money for themselves and to look cool and smart.. the so abused word of being “pro-active” .. yeah, at cheating and hurting their own real group best interests in favour of some huge personal cheques…. It’s no different than the banks and financial system scandal, always managers cheating and not doing their own groups best interests (which in a capitalistic system should always be to ensure pleasing actual and potential customers and not cheating on them!)

Yes, I hated it…..But I loved it. The Finale was awesome, in it’s being. Having Cameron leave is just heart breaking. Having John go looking for her is consoling. We love the characters so we go on our emotions. Sorry for ranting!!

Josh Friedman, I hated the way you used Cameron this season, and Derek. They were almost non-existent. However I believe you have learned from your mistakes and having seen the last 2 episodes I’m totally certain of one thing. You are now the right man for the job. Adam raised a Cain was the best of the best of the best. And the finale, what you did to Cameron, I hate it, but I loved it too. Kudos for having balls to go against mainstream tv.
I critisize a lot but you’ve totally won me over. If I make strange sounds and noises during a movie or show it’s always great and I was screaming at the tv this time.

I really hope they don’t cancel this show. I was a little disappointed by the mid season of season 2 but am absolutely blown away by the last three. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen on television and I am a jaded 33 year old latch-key kid raised by television. Really hope we haven’t seen the end of it. Thought this was where you vote to keep the Sarah connor chronicles alive but I think I might be wrong.
There has to be a season 3. With Terminator Salvation hitting the theatres the fan base will even more increase.

Don’t just buy a TSCC DVD for yourself. Buy them as gifts for your friends and family (in addition, to something you’re certain they’ll like). We should have a goal of 1 million DVD sales in the first 3 weeks of release. Given the obvious enthusiasm we all have for the show, that shouldn’t be too difficult.
I am a real loyal fan to this show and i have not missed a single episode. After The season finale i hope that the writers behind the show will come to their senses and renew the show for a 3rd season. Also i hope that people will continue to vote for the show and good luck and hope the final decision will turn out good

This series is cool, a new series should definitely be coming out.
For comparisons sake: The most recent Lost and Heroes DVD sets sold 920,000 and 830,000 copies, respectively, in their first three weeks of release. Of course, their fans weren’t looking desperately for way to save their show. Personally, I’ll be giving at least 6 TSCC season 2 sets as gifts this year.

Brian from Canada has a great point, We cannot let up the pressure for one second, We must carry on at the polls until May the 1st, or they will have a chance to beat Us, and with Us, the show We love. We Cannot let that happen, so We Must stay the course, working harder and harder, until We have a season three.
It would be absolutely devastating to mankind to let such a work of art perish.

Here’s a big ‘what if’ question:
If Josh Friedman, et al., had taken the easy route and simply had the plot of TSCC revolve around a “terminator of the week” (appears in electricity ball at beginning of episode, chases John and Sarah for 40 minutes, and is cleverly killed at end of episode in a close-call situation, only to repeat next episode with a different terminator) do you think more people would have watched the show, such that season 3 would be a sure thing right now? It’s what they did on X-Files for 9 seasons (except for the occasional alien conspiracy episode) - freak of the week.
TSCC intentionally chose not to do the “terminator of the week” and instead had a very character-driven, intellectual/philosophical show with drawn-out plot arcs. We can count on one hand the number of terminator car chases we had during the 31 episodes of TSCC we’ve had thus far. Hopefully, somehow, Fox will do the right thing and let the show have a legitimate chance to grow. Put it on Sunday night. NO SHOW CAN SURVIVE FRIDAY NIGHT if DVR recordings don’t count in the ratings.
Sadly I think that the show would have gotten far better ratings, and been far dumber and stupid, had it been nothing more than “terminator of the week.” Yet another reason why SkyNet should wipe us all out. Any species that sits down to watch “Wife Swap” or “Celebrity Dancing” should be wiped off the planet, deserving nothing more than a quick extinction.

Our voting ’strategies’ (cough-cough…) gave me another idea: how can one become a Nielsen family? Do we have to be a family first? If I regroup a couple of hobos (Billy Bob Thornton, Willie Nelson…) could we be considered as a family? More importantly, in accord with our… line of action lately, can we be 12 families?

Promising to watch every new Fox show is just as ridicluous as threatening to boycott.
I’ll judge each show on its own merrits, and stop or continue based on that.
Lets keep their other shows out of this though. all I can say is I hate reality shows outside of survivor, so no idol for me, ever. and while I like House and will continue to watch that week by week, I have to admit it has gotten stale, with a really great ep maybe a few times per season (like the 2 part finale of last season).
I’m not sure what I’m getting at here, except to say I love serialised shows, but few keep things as fresh as Terminator. the only other fresh show on fox is Dollhouse, and that seems to be suffering a similar fate. even if it makes it to a second season, it’ll probably wind up where Terminator is now.

Dude this is soo damn awesome! I cant believe we were at 13% and chuck was beating us at 32%! Look at us know! we are at 42% and chuck is at 23%!! we are some dedicated fans!! TSCC is an amazing show and doesn’t deserve to be canceled. TSCC is the best show that exists ,and if fox for some reason does cancel it despite these amazing numbers! WELL THEN THEY HAVE MESSED UP ONCE AGAIN.. FOX do the right thing give TSCC a third season.

Save “Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles.” Just viewed the season finale online, the new direction would be amazing to see in a season 3. After “Salvation” comes out next month, there will be Terminator fever! The TV series will benefit greatly. Please renew it!
Love the show. I’ve been a fan of every movie and have loved T:SCC even more. There isn’t one episode that I missed. I’m one of those that was away this past Friday on vacation and wasn’t able to watch it live….and hated it. Had to wait ’til tonight to see the finale. The ending made me want so much more. Then to read that it could possibly be cut really upset me. I’ve been voting…..just not sure if the poll’s actually still open.
Really looking forward to Terminator Salvation. Let’s hope there’s a T:SCC salvation as well. If not, this 39-year-old guy could actually shed some tears.

In order to reach a larger group of Sarah Connor Chronicle fans we really need to think of a way to get this out… Not everyone is going to go online or is even aware of the possible cancelation…. It is so important to spread the word this week through work or just to recruite some people to send emails, mail, or vote….. Three million can turn into ten million real quick…. Spread the word across your own networks… If you can…. advertise it to everyone who will listen… Glad to find the site and see that others love the show enough to try to fight FOXNET…… Happy to join the ranks…. I’m a HUGE Joss Whedon supporter, but if some television god strangely appeared in my room and said I’d have to choose between TSCC or Dollhouse… after that finale, I’d choose TSCC in a heartbeat.

Innocent, get your facts straight, the finale Will air. the 12th episode was always intended to be the finale. Its just they needed 13 for the DVD, and since they reshot the pilot, a stand alone ep was made to make up for it, and that’s the one that wont air. They can air it later if they want, since it doesn’t really matter what order its shown. It was never integral to the plot.
And the premise does not get old, in fact the premise keeps changing. just when you think you get it, they reveal the concept is a lot more complex than we initially thought.
But this is getting off topic. Dollhouse is a great show, and I do want it renewed. but Terminator does get priority, easily.

My husband and I have both voted and sent multiple e-mails. I have drafted a hand written, Yes, a hand written letter with signatures from 7 friends and 3 promising to sign tomorrow, and then I will send it by mail. How much does it cost to produce 12 episodes of TSCC? If Fox decides not to renew maybe the fans can chip in and “produce” it direct to the Internet? If there are 2 million fans, even at 2 million per episode that’s 12 dollars per fan. Heck, I’d pay that much and I don’t see why it couldn’t air direct to Hulu. Any money they make on selling commercials would be gravy.

hlampert, I really like you idea, and in a perfect world, it would work flawlessly and spectacularly.
Unfortunately, the world in which We live is not perfect. I have doubts that all two million viewers of T:SCC would bother paying to see anything. There is definately a devoted fanbase that would be more than willing to pay even twice that amount, but the average viewer, I don’t think so.
It’s a good idea, though, perhaps it should be on the table? I would be glad to give money to this cause.
However, I doubt that I will ever be given the chance.

I don’t know how many times I’ve voted, but I have been voting for hours on end, only recently stopping so that I could pull an all nighter and finish My english paper.
I really love this show, and I can say in complete and total honesty that I have never valued any television show, be it drama, sitcom, reality, or any other type, more than Terminator: SCC. This show is gold, and it has something about it, something special, some unique and intensly seductive light that no sentient individual can overlook or allow to go out.
…and I read that last paragraph and I think, “wow, I have been reading too much Nathanial Hawthorne!” lol

The reason the polls numbers were so low at the ivy awards is because there website wasn’t allowing multiple voting unlike all the other sites.
Some people were able to over come that problem but most of us only got to vote once…but we did it.

I’m not Canadian and it seems to work. You don’t have to pay, just ignore the paypal thing when it comes up after you voted. The voting poll does not seem to check your IP address. It just ask you to check a box to say that you honestly are from Canada and that you put in a (fake) Canadian home address. Don’t take my word for it but it seems to work, so feel free to try. Don’t know how Canadian awards may affect the decision process. But an award is an award, so why not vote just in case.

The attitude from ‘TV by the Numbers’ is easy to understand: they live (and will die) by the Nielsen numbers. A show like T:SCC which heralds the new ways of watching TV (using DVRs, online viewings, downloads, DVD sales…) simply freaks them out.
They may show the arrogance of a GM exec but they’re likely on their last leg just the same.
It seems quite obvious that tvbythenumbers.com website is part of the agenda that wants TSCC to be cancelled. There is a large group of people working against the Terminator franchise and mining WarnerBros best interests.
The Nielsen ratings are surely tampered with and can’t be trusted in any case because even if untouched those statistics are flawed, their system is flawed and outdated.
They cannot cancel this show its class i love every episode !!!!!!!

Jericho got cancelled anyway, they need to change their entire strategy on how they evaluate viewership and what value it returns to advertisers and investors.
I think Fox should try to execute some of the ideas below:
1) Change the way they do business to adapt to the habits and demands in the new media landscape by creating a consensus with advertisers and other business partners. In short this means: Change the ratings systems.
2) Help get the number of viewers higher up by giving it a different timeslot.
3) Build better marketing strategies (If the plan is to create a Sci-fi Friday concept - just be honest and communicate that. Accentuate the message of Fox providing high concept dramas in smart innovative ways. I think gender specific campaigns may have little effect on shows like T:TSCC and Dollhouse.)
4) Develop stronger high quality on-demand distribution channels who really can compete with pirated HD versions of the show.
5) Go global. Seriously. Create a global distribution solution. And do it right away. Don’t do this gradually around the globe. Try and change agreements with foreign distributors to truly create a global on-demand service. (The language barriers will still force content to be adapted for local contractors and media to distribute the show as well, but the immediate treath of piracy can be subdued and create new possibilities to increased revenues by this legal alternative.)
Fans should still show an interest in the show by voting and sending mails to Fox. Loyal viewers have saved shows before - but I am just afraid it won’t be enough for the long run. That’s why I think it is important to illustrate that the current situation demands that Fox internally solve some business issues first.
But still, getting a Season 3 by contacting Fox is very good start. And a possible season renewal can also give more time for the network to change their business strategies to argue for the future survival of the show. I just hope there are enough time and commitment for it to be possible.

Then, i think that TSCC performed well on Friday; it had a lot of difficulties, because the slot changing happened during slow and a bit criptic episodes.
We saw results last friday on the brilliantand mind-storming finale, but in that moment, when ratings were told “critic”, TSCC performed well, givin us materials to talk about for month, as we are doing here right now! There’s a solid fan-base, a good potential for new viewers, a powerful franchise. Terminator is an old and good certainty, as Ac/Dc and Aerosmith
There’s something special about this show: a potential tentacular plot, that can bring us everywehere in space and time. Well-descripted, a lot of subplots, a lot of turning point. Yeah, Mr.Friedman found his way.
Powerful characters: not only Summer /Cameron, who’s a confirmed internet and tv icon :the 2d terminator absolutely after Arnie. Sure, the best terminatrix. Great acting work. Really.
But also John Connor/Dekker, who’s growing fast: he was so closed and mute in 2nd season, in the end love exploded and left him with a bad taste in mouth.
Also Lena Hadley and Shirley Manson, Brian Austin Green…great. Really.

But this “end” is amazing. No compromises. No doubts. Josh Friedman opened new doors, takin and givin us as his pleasure, but making us cry: on robot -human sex-scene,on leaving and changin, on “sacrifice”, on Reese team comin’ back, on Allison’s appearing…and on John face: Dekker, what a look ! It was a mix of amazing, sadness, hopin and ….horror. I wouldn’t be in your pants !
I think that Allison could be a big problem to John: how can he manage such “relation”?
Remember, Cameron said to John “my name is Allison”; does he remember this? What will he do when he discover that Cameron killed Allison? How can he behave in confront of her, human-copy of the Terminator? Will be love as the same?
Let’s write to Fox. All together. These days, with no rest.
But i’m sure that they know the treasure they are managin’ !

This is a good show and especially after the last 3-4 gripping episodes definitely needs to continue.
I got a question, does anybody know how this save one show thing works? if we win what does E! do exactly? do they fund another season or help pay for it, do they help fox understand the fanbase it actually has, i’m extremely curious as to how this thing works because they dont explain much. i sent an email to E! to find out for sure, but they may deem that info confidential. im just hoping someone knows something about this and if it will actually make a difference.

The last episode was really good.
I still have some questions, I think there is so much that the writers can do with the story because now we have a different setting and some new and old characters.
The show was shaky at the start, but it was finally coming into its own. John Conner was starting to become what we imagined him to be, and John Henry is a truly unique character. I still can’t believe that was Brian Austin Greene from 90210. I didn’t think he could have played the Derek as well as he did.
It needs another year. If it was canceled after season 1 I would have understood, but to do it now would be criminal.

What killed the show this season was Sarah Connor’s vision of the 3 dots and her mission to find them. I thought it was a bit lame. If the show does get picked up again, it really needs to focus on the relationship between John and Cameron like it did in the season premiere and finale.
But I don’t think Fox will save the show no matter how many fans there are. The numbers who watched the show in it’s actual time slot on TV were too small. Stop DVRing your show and watch them in real time on TV. That’s what killed it.

Man, this is the only “real” T.V. show I watch. I’m not really into Heroes, Lost, and so on. To me this is the best show on right now. I definitely want a third season.

If Fox is dumb enough to drop this show, see if you (the writers) can take it over to SyFy (formerly Sci-Fi). Now that BSG is over, they are in sore need of series to keep from just being a b-movie channel. T:SCC would fit in perfectly on that station and could live out the rest of its 5 season story arc without fear of cancellation. It would definitely be better than constantly fearing cancellation every 6 weeks.

I’m voting like hell, this show deserves a third season especially after the last cliffhanger. And I really would miss Summer Glau in her role(s) in this show, Cameron might be the biggest role in her life next to River Tam and I don’t think she will get the chance to play such an interesting character as an actual Terminator so quick again.
And when LOST will be gone next year, Terminator SCC will be the last show on television I really care about. So, please give this show a third season and give this show a better schedule than Friday nights. Seriously, who watches television at that time and who are those people with Nielsen boxes? I doubt, they actually exist. And if you people get a third season, don’t screw up again. Make this season so good, that no one will even doubt, that there’s going to be a fourth one. You can do it and the cliffhanger from “Born to Run” provides some very good potential.

I really sincerely hope they launch a third season, best sci-fi show I’ve ever seen, for sure.
Damn. Always an inside source at the network confirming the end of the show. Have they even got all numbers to make a good assessment or is it the usual “gut feeling” that a right decision is made.
It would be soo nice if everything was proven wrong. Please, tell me there are some people at the network that are still looking into how the show can work financially. Can pressure from advertisers perhaps save it like it did with Friday night lights?
Assuming that the more-reliable-than-not Ausiello is reporting a fait accompli, it is bad news indeed. As I pointed out in my own blog post, SyFy (or SciFi, or Siffy, or whatever they are calling themselves) tend to want originals and also work out their tight budgets well in advance (we went through this with Firefly). The fact is that TTSCC isn’t exactly a low-expense show.
However, if they keep it in standing sets, don’t rely too much on CGI and other SFX, and pare some of the above-the-line cast (i.e. Lena and Richard), they could possibly sell it to another cable outfit…. though I wouldn’t hold my breath.
As for me, I’m not quite willing to let it go just yet. I’m sensing fanfic.

Born to Run was just amazing, there has to be another season!
While any episode in Season 2 involving Jesse and Riley (with the exception of Today is the Day) as well as any episode that did not add to they storyline were a bit boring, Born to Run was just amazing. There has to be a 3rd season (with hopefully all episodes furthering the storyline ala Lost, 24, etc. or at least developing the Cameron and John relationship)!
By the end of the season 2, the possiblilities with the story will be endless. And We are all here waiting FOX, WILL YOU BE BACK?

It takes so effort much to create a really worthy show and an instant to destroy it. Casts disband, writers get assigned to new projects, lead actors get signed to new projects–and fans disperse as welll. Fox, please do not let this happen–you were able to get Family Guy back but tscc will never come together again. To me, this show is emerging as the next Battlestar Galactica. Move it to FX if you have to, but don’t let this show die. It is hitting its stride. How long did it take to get a Terminator TV series off the ground? A decade? Do you really have a deep enough bench to throw away a show with a motivated fan base and replace it with an unknown that will likely not even make it? I like a little reality TV, but ultimately it was not enough to keep me subscribed to cable. On the other hand, this is one of two shows that keeps me connected to your network at all ( on Hulu); the other is Dollhouse.

The IMDb report is in fact using Ausiello as its only source. I’m surprised that this many websites are reporting about TSCC and possible cancellation, they were never this interested before. It could be the factr that their articles get hundreds of comments within an hour of posting them because of all the loyal TSCC fans who respond, but that just shows that cancelling TSCC is N-O-T a good idea at all.

I agree. All of these non-terminator entertainment gossip blogs have shown little if any interest at all, but now that we are having to scrap to keep our show on the air, they are coming out of the wood works to report negativity. Where were the positive post while the season was going on? Why was it so hard to get a mention then? Not to stereotype any specific demographic but many of those who read those particular blogs tend to follow trends. So if those blogs had said something nice and displayed the vast number of positive aspects for our show, we may not be in this situation (I.E. if they said it was cool then their readers would say it was cool). I was at a party last Friday (after the finale of course) and these people were saying that they did not understand the show. They went on to say that is why they stopped watching. Now I know that I’m a pretty sharp guy but come on. Its not THAT complicated. It seems as if Hollywood socialites and reality tv aren’t involved then people won’t take the time to watch tv. In order for a show to do well it has to be the simplest drivel that can be put together so it can appeal to the bottom 50% of IQ’s in this country. Kudos to you Mr. Friedman for not adding to the list shows that reward the mindless. Kudos to the other writers, cast and crew for embracing something that is more complicated than “The Hills”. Kudos to the fans for recognizing the void that exist in our entertainment society and seeking to keep it filled. Lets face we’re just smarter than those who want to see us fail at the end of the day.
Now that I’ve got that off my chest. Continue to vote and write emails and letters. I know that the gossip blogs want to see us dead, but I cant imagine that the extensive voting and writing will be absolutely ignored. To season 3.

The bottom line for executives in board rooms is always money.
With the May release of T4 Salvation (it looks bad ass in the previews!), the Terminator franchise is gonna generate a lot of money, chatter, and hype this summer, and those FOX execs would be idiots not to feed off of that next fall by continuing the series.
Screw those gloom/doom rumor mongers! There’s a lot of reason for hope.

This show is my favourite of all time, it’s one of the most intelligent shows on TV.
Just letting you all know, the show is loved in Australia, despite it’s poor treatment by Channel 9, the video releases have been popular, I’ve purchased the Blu-Ray of the First Season, and can’t wait to buy the 2nd Season..and eventually 3rd as well..and so on…

I have said this about a few shows already that I love. The neilsen rating system sucks and to me does not show the truest mainstay of true fans or watchers. Heck there was a movie a while back that had the neilson boxes found and those people sent on a cruise in order for other people to go into them and watch what the antagonist wanted them to watch to drive ratings up on a tv show? MY TRUE belief is that with the new DTV converter box manditory switch over is going do away with neilson cause they can monitor all of us from our boxes, cable boxes and sat. boxes. I believe this will give them a better perspective of what TRUE wiewership is and to cancel a show on the verge of this tech coming is stupid. Besides what about with other media like online viewership what the heck. They get paid for our veiwership there by the ads they show and can easily monitor how many times its beeing watched and so on, beside that if you think about that media and others like 1.99 downloads and so on was the reason behind the “WRITERS STRIKE” so we know there is money in their new media to be made and with counts on downloads and media watched and hosting bandwith beeing tallied plus the new DTV boxes coupled with the sat. and cable boxes out there TV will get a better tally on viewership. So keep shows around for next year that did ok in ratings (GET IT ON A BETTER NIGHT) and that the fans feel most likely did better and the ones fans are petitioning for them to be saved. I would like to see where TSCC is going after the cliffhanger ending we got April 10th and I think it will show some serious flare to bring it back and see what true viewship you will get next year. Although this thread on the wiki rests on premises I can’t agree with (why believe the rumors and why give up on pressuring FOX? RNC says: fable idiotic) it contains loads of excellent addresses where to sent our mail, emails and faxes.

I recommend Halcyon, the owners of the intellectual rights as far as I can judge, and the list of international distributors. The importance of the latter may escape the traditionally ethnocentric Americans (no offense, every nation on the planet is navel enamored by nature) but, as a rule of thumb, shows and movies made in the US recoups their investment with their internal market but make their profit with international markets.

It’s funny how a show like Chuck get more viewers. It has less character developements and pretty crappy season story arcs. The only thing it really has going for is quirky character and geek humor with ridiculous slapstick humor - but still with some heart I must admit.
I wonder though if that show has any chance to recover any amount of story or larger character development before that season is finished. I guess killing of three support characters on Chuck for the sake of story is out of the question.

I often share affection for the TV shows some organized groups support, but fans of Fox’s low-rated “Dollhouse” and “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” have swamped the poll, skewing early results. As of yesterday, only 48 percent of the votes cast have been local. Usually at least 60 percent of the votes are local.

Yes, it shows that the franchise is strong in general. Perhaps a big factor in the drop in ratings were the faulty executive decisions to change both timeslot and agreeing to bad marketing tactic for the sci-fi evening strategy. My guess is that the timeslot may have had a larger impact on the ratings than the actual three episode Sarah story arc.
Remember also that the very late back nine-order from Fox created demanded a speedy scripts production, leading to the poorly received “Desert Cantos”. Maybe the writing strategy can be blamed a bit (although it was gutsy, creative and mature), but again a delayed executive decision, with a timeslot perhaps more used for family friendly entertainment than adult high concept drama, surely did not help.
It would be nice to see both T:TSCC and Dollhouse saved by Fox agreeing that some poor decisions where made and that it was more an executive problem than a quality issue which led to the show’s perceived poor ratings (don’t really like the current rating system).
Both shows have strong brands (Terminator & Whedon) attached to them. While the TV ratings rhetoric (”we don’t have the most viewed show on a Friday night”) would be reason cancellation, the rhetoric of building a long-term fanbase over many seasons as a brand strategy would be refreshing, if they financially can make it work and find viable win-win situations (like the cross pollination between the Terminator brand’s TV show and new movie trilogy, and the development of new distribution models.)
Of course even if this was a viable option for Fox they probably won’t tell us right now, especially not between TV seasons. What other powerful tool than angry fanboys & fangirls can create buzz and build interests for these smaller high concept shows?
There is not much to say: Please keep this show! It’s Terminator for christ’s sake! It would be a shame if it would be taken off the air… especially with the cliffhangers in the last episode! This can’t be the end!

I’ve been voting but I’d like to know just how much pull this poll has with Fox. When we come out on top, what happens then?
It’s a popular poll that could help sway the decision. Of course that would mean FOX is actually trying to find ways to save the show and is not already prepared to cancel it. It is just another in a series of things that can help us, including DVD/Blu Ray sales, massive internet campaigning, letter and postcard writing, the success of T4, the fact that many scripted shows like PB and Dollhouse are likely to be canceled, and that BSG is over meaning there are very few sci-fi shows on.
If FOX doesn’t budge, then the poll can be used to encourage WB to renew TSCC on a cable network.
I’m scared for what’s going to happen when Chuck’s season finale airs… They’re going to be fighting back hard. Much like we did when ours aired. So we really gotta steal the lead. We’re okay right now (for space between), but that space is going to get smaller and smaller when the season finale airs. So we can’t rest. We can’t think we’re safe.

Starkiller, you are right about reloading the page, however, the captcha word does not have to change. The random word generator resets every minute or so. As long as the bubbles to the left of the show title disappear when you click vote you have been counted. Then reset the page and vote again regardless of the word in the field.

It’s pretty obvious that Terminator is a global show(me being from the other side of the globe is prove enough) and in very dire need to be renewed so they shouldn’t be surprised with how things turn out…If anything, it would certainly alert network execs(Fox or otherwise) that the show has a very strong following. So I’d say, 50%, 60%, or even 90%. Let’s decimate the opponents and make it a news in itself. Heh.

Mattlive: We can talk about the importance of the poll, how FOX will interpret the voting, etc, but I know one thing for sure, I’m glad we have 50 and Chuck 22 rather than the other way around. This poll wont do it all by itself, but it’s the cumulative effect that will save us — all the buzz about T4, the ether chatter, the sales of season 2, the e-mails and letters, the petitions and the polls. When coupled with everything else, this poll counts for a lot.
And Chuck’s fans are tech savy and are gonna flood the polls soon, so our fanboy votes count as much as theirs.

Fujii Itsuki: Yes, I saw that one too. High numbers hopefully will alert that there is a huge global interest and that the fanbase is quick on mobilizing voters not only in US but all over the world. The franchise is that strong.
Unfortunately Fox may first look on the domestic American market. Globalization exist in so many ways (good and bad) - but not in TV land yet. Don’t now the intricacies of ad revenues for television shows in global perspective, but I can only guess that American ad revenues are the main income and foreign distributors don’t pay really as much as these domestic advertisers do to keep the show afloat - hence (and really I’m just guessing) the global TV distributions model, the level of success selling the shows to local TV networks in each country, is not enough to save the show.
We need the end of the story. Maybe if fox hadn’t bounced around when the show was on it wouldn’t have lost popularity.

The poll isn’t even supposed to be about which shows should be renewed but everyone should go vote just the same. TVbyTheNumbers has constantly hated on TTSCC since the start of Season 2 and their every other post being about how much better Chuck is. It would look really dumb on their part ff terminator wins the poll while they keep trying to discredit it and hype up chuck.
The voting will go slower the more votes that are sent. The total population of votes is what the percentage is based on, so every 1% makes the next milestone even more difficult to reach. So keep voting and don’t give up hope.

That’s of course the first thing I did (I have Firefox set to keep cookies only until I close it), but the total votes number didn’t change after the first 2 votes and I tried it 4 more times so I figured my votes weren’t being counted despite being able to physically vote again. I tried it again today and it seemed to work the first 2 times but 3,4,and, 5 saw no change. Maybe its a once a day thing, or an ip thing, or maybe its just me. If I’m wrong please correct me, the last thing I want to do is sabotage a poll we could win!

Mmmm, your observations seem right: two votes and then there seem to be no more effect. It must be I.P. controlled since by rebooting, if it gets me a new I.P. I can vote once more.
That is just as good this way: with 35%, and increase of 2% since last I checked, T:SCC shows that it is truly popular among a large part of the audience.

Damn, look at those DVR numbers. This definitely shows that the show has plenty more viewers than the Friday night ratings are showing.
There’s a frickin 70% increase with DVR numbers included for the 18-49 demographic! This is extremely high. This will hopefully make some advertisers happy - and some fans too.
Delayed viewing has really proven to be a strong viewing habit for this show.
Still watching this in the UK - one of the best state side shows in years and you want to cancel?
I would rate it up there with Burn notice.
We need another series guys - heck why dont you just tell us what stuff to buy via the (via the ’sponsors’) and well get a couple extra of whatever just for the hell of it!

I’m trying not to freak everytime I see Chuck has gone up another percent. Because I know that as your percent gets higher, it takes more for it to move. It’s just scary… And the site seems to hate my computer (any computer in my house really…) so I have to click on the link 20+ times before the site will even load…
And I saw those DVR numbers… Made me smile and cross my fingers even tighter.
But I’m guessing most of you have heard by now about the tvbythenumbers poll? If not, they apparently had a poll going about who will (or should, can’t remember) get another season… And T:TSCC kicked ass! The site crashed so many fans voted at one time, that they had to close it early! We won that poll with like 84%

I’m one of those DVR people. Due to my child having sports on Friday nights, I have never been able to watch the show live, and I’ve been watching faithfully since season 1. Do you think FOX looks at these numbers, or for that matter, really cares?
They don’t care unless a massive fan backlash forces makes them care, not about the show but about their own hides.

Yes, Fox gets paid by advertiser for DVR viewings as well. But only if a viewer watches it on DVR within a few days.
The question is will network and advertisers negotiate a business model where the DVR ratings system, and other distribution channels are given a higher value (like longer time delay allowed than a few days) than they do at the moment.
Shows like T:TSCC and 90210 have had very high DVR numbers which may be an example of a new trend where there are a much higher DVR vieweship amongst the 18-49 demographic on certain scripted shows. This means that shows like these may be less favored if live viewing is valued too high in comparison to DVR viewing.

Keep voting. It doesn’t seem that the “Watch with Kristin” crew have been big fans of the show. In a way it’s nice to prove them all wrong to show it’s still worth renewal.
According to Brian Austin Green (Skynext Podcast Interview) it may now be a 50/50 chance on renewal. We should still do our job to sway the decision process in our favor, but it seems like pilot season will be the big thing affecting the survival of the show.
If Fox’s initial impression on demographic test with their new pilots fail it may help T:TSCC (demo tests are done i.e. in Las Vegas. I’ve done it myself once - I saw the pilot for a crappy little show called “Jake 2.0″.). Another big factor is whether the price of making T:TSCC is cheaper than building a new fanbase for a completely new show which may have tested well.
Kristen is a huge fan of Chuck, so we must keep pluging away at the save one show to help get TSCC back
