YOU SUBMITTED YOUR QUESTIONS. SHOWRUNNER JOSH FRIEDMAN ANSWERS THEM.
INTREPID: I read online that a lot of the school related storyline hit the cutting room floor due to time constraints. Is there any chance of a future special edition DVD release with those scenes, and other cut scenes being reconstituted back into the episodes? Other than the one episode mentioned in the current DVD release.
That first season DVD will have the extended version of The Demon Hand, which features Sarah’s Pescadero monologue as well as some additional scenes with John and Cheri Westin. There is also an extended version of the Pilot.
COREY: How many future episodes are we going to see in season 2?
There won’t be any episodes that take place entirely in the future, but we will continue to see flashes of the future as dictated by the stories. Like in the first two films, we purposely use the future flashes sparingly, so that when we do go there it enhances the present day stories. After all, the series is about Sarah Connor raising her son in the present day and too much of a good thing can really turn it sour… But within the first twelve episodes, I’d say we definitely visit the future in at least four episodes.
COREY: In all 3 terminator movies, and season 1 of Sarah Connor Chronicles, we have never seen present day John Connor fire a weapon at a person nor kill a human being. Is he even capable of taking a human life, knowing that one day he is destined to save humanity? Would the act of taking a human life make him a hypocrite?
In order to evolve into the leader he’s destined to be, John must learn how to be both humane and a warrior. How John becomes that man — the experiences that shape him — is what’s compelling in his journey.
THECOLOURS: When can we expect to hear the offical SCC podcast?
Expect it online the day after our second season premiere.
AVERAGEJO: How was the name “Cromartie” chosen? I know about the actual etymology but thought that it might be due to the homonym association with “chrome” - as in a terminator’s endoskeleton.
Huge surprise here for those who know me and my obsession with football — our villain was named after Antonio Cromartie, cornerback for the San Diego Chargers.
KELVYN: Now that Ellison has seen an actual Terminator in action…will he join the Connors and fight? Protect them?
Quite the interesting predicament for a man of faith, don’t you think? Tune in on Monday, September 8th at 8PM to find out what’s next for Ellison.
ANNIE: Derek mentions in What He Beheld that Sarah has never killed anyone before. (I watched the first two films again and realized that it’s true - Sarah is great at squashing Terminators but we never see her actually kill another human being.) What effect do you think that will have on Sarah when/if that happens? Would she think it’s justified if she were to kill another to save John’s life?
You’re right, Sarah hasn’t actually killed anyone. It’s a compelling internal battle, one we saw when she struggled with stopping Andy Goode. She believes that Andy’s technology may become Skynet, but there’s always the chance it won’t. Is the risk too great if she leaves him alive? Interestingly enough with Andy Goode, Sarah chose to end the dream, not the dreamer. But Derek’s seen more and had another opinion…
SCC podcast?
OMG!!!
Thank you guys!!!
Official podcast? Egggggggggscellent.
And thanks for answering this:
“You’re right, Sarah hasn’t actually killed anyone.”
K8tie and I have had a debate going for a while about whether or not sarah had killed. I think I might miss that debate now, but at least I can gloat.
Was just pondering, will we ever see the infamous Sarah polaroid snap in the present time? Where is it hiding? With time travel and moving a lot, it’s gotta be in a super special safe place, right? Right?
Josh, you and your writing staff/entire cast and crew rock! Thanks for taking the time out to answer my question and for making this blog so informative/fun to read! On to Season 2! I’ll be watching each ep on my DVR and online multiple times to do my personal damnest to keep the ratings up!

In that case, I have to wonder why Sarah tolerates Derek and his itchy trigger finger. Or Cameron for that matter. It seems awfully like Derek was right in the park and Sarah’s letting other people do for her what she won’t do herself.
“I think I might miss that debate now, but at least I can gloat.”
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I hear there will be a new terminator 4 movie commeing out is this true.
I hope we can still post some questions. I didn‘t know they were taking questions. That will teach me not to miss one day on this site:
Will Cameron ever have a built day?
Will John ever get his Birthday cake?
What did Cameron write in her note and to who?
Do you like the term Jameron? Its for the John/ Cameron ship (hope so…please!)
Will the terminator from the 4th episode, Carter (I believe was his name) ever escape or come into play again?
Can I borrow Cameron to do my homework? Please! Kidding.
Will we see more Cameron dancing?
Will the Coltan (spell?) that Cameron kept play an important role? Or is that suppose to be her?
Did Cameron ever travel to 1963 and then jump to 1999? I ask because she said she has an account at that bank.
Will Cameron ever make it to the prom?
Will more humans know Cameron’s secret?
Will we ever see Sarah take to Cameron? Where she actually calls her Cameron and not Tin miss?
Can we ever see Cameron ’s evil twin?
Yes I am a Cameron fan. Plus a huge Jameron fan as you can tell from my posts.
Really love the show. Keep up the great work. Cameron rocks! Go Girl power.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
First i would like to apologize for my English, am not native speaker and am selflearner. I hope you will understand anyway. Iam a great fan of Terminator universe, it has so much potential and much is still untaped. When i heard there will be TV series, i was excited, because last few years showed that many american TV series are the best what you can see, and sometimes its quality is much better than average and even good cinema movies /Prison Break for example/. So after first episode, i was quite terrifed. Introducing to serie /Pilot/ was too quick and bit shallow for first sight. Too many terminator cliches was repeated in too little time, i think. But i didnt give up. At a moment, i have seen whole series, and “big applause” to all makers. Series is not shallow, actors are great and its not boring” I cant wait second season! Sarah Connor is great, John Connor is excellent, Cameron Phillips is great and even that forgetable guy form Beverly Hills is doing pretty god acting. I actually get to point i like characters /and their characters!/ Bur another thing. Unfortunately, amongst us are also those who not only saw movie, but also read Terminator Books /1+2/. In second instalment was scene from future, where John Connor and his technician team will get to Skynet Research Centre and to TIme machine. John Connor realize, that Time machine was used recently and sends Reese to past /Strong scene where Connor is saying after sending Reese to past: It was my father!!!/. Then they realize there was another signal and another terminator had been sent /T1000/ So they send good Schwarzie Terminator to save John. Ok, but according TV serie, there must be another time machine than? Or is it still one Time machine sending tons of Terminators, goods and bads, to different time portions? Isnt it bit unrealistical? ALso i have noticed in Terminator 3, when they go to Cemetery Weapon Cache, Terminator says that Sarah Connor died beforce Apocalypse. That thing you overcame very drasticly by Time machine in Bank Safe /INSANE, BUT Beautiful Scene/. But in Books, there is clearly said that Sarah will die in future during Skynet raid…. SO thats all. keep up good work, i cant wait what you will think next…
I’m just curious if you guys will bring up the contradiction of the present/future war that was never brought up in the original film franchise. The main thing I’m referring to is the fact that no matter what Sarah and John do, it’s impossible for them to stop Judgement Day. What I mean by this is has anyone sat and thought about what happens if they do stop Skynet? If skynet is stopped, Kyle is never sent back, John is never born, and no one is there to stop Skynet, right? Or am I missing something?
Hey “K”…I can answer a couple of your questions…
First, yes, there is a Terminator 4 coming out. I think it is coming out next year.
Second, what Cameron meant about having a bank account was that the bank was built in 1963, and that the person who built it had left an “account/safety deposit box” for anyone needing to go forward in the future or back into the future. So, technically, anyone that knows about the time travel device has an account there. I don’t think she meant that she was actually there in 1963. I think she was just being something of a smart-a**.
Does that answer a couple of your questions?
“Pohy”
The T:SCC follows after Terminator 2, not after Terminator 3. Its a branch off there. If I am wrong, please, someone set me straight…lol.
i agree with k cameron is awsome!! and i cant wait to see terminator 4!
