FOX PICKS UP SECOND SEASON OF “FRINGE”
No. 1 New Series Among Adults 18-49 Renewed for Full Season
Season Finale Guest-Starring Leonard Nimoy Airs Tuesday, May 12, on FOX

FOX has renewed FRINGE, the No. 1 new series among Adults 18-49, with a full second season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.

“FRINGE proved to be a notable addition to our schedule all season and it really has fans buzzing as it builds to a fantastic season finale,” said Reilly. “J.J. and the whole Bad Robot team have been phenomenal partners, and we look forward to years of making great television with them.”

“FRINGE continues to gain momentum, creatively and with viewers,” said J.J. Abrams, series co-creator and executive producer. “We couldn’t be more thrilled that FRINGE will continue to freak people out for at least another season!”

FRINGE has captivated audiences this season, winning its Tuesday time period weekly among key demographics and ranks as the No. 1 new series in primetime among Adults 18-49.

Questions will be answered when the first season of FRINGE wraps up with two all-new episodes. First, on Tuesday, May 5 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT), Olivia experiences “awake dreams,” Walter divulges key information about the Z.F.T. manifesto and Peter reveals a secret that yields unexpected results in a disturbing case. In the climactic finale airing Tuesday, May 12 (9:04-10:00 PM ET/PT), discoveries are made, loyalties are tested, otherworldly origins are discovered and guest star Leonard Nimoy debuts as a pivotal person of interest.

  23. when will season two start to air??
aw, it’ll be hard waiting whole summer for season two to come back.

  24. please keep this show going. it is the only reason i watch fox.

  25. THANKYOU for DECIDING to keep the show for a 2nd season.
I enjoy watching this show..it is very intriguing.
this show has elements of a show i used to watch”ALIAS” but then disliked it when the show’s finale came near. My problem was that the plot got inconsistent and several important issues were not resolved at the last episode.
I hope this show does not become another sloppy mess towards the end.
tell the crew to KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
    sincerely, a supporter of FRINGE

I am truly sorry to hear that FOX has picked up Fringe for a second season! I think that they treat this show like shit! Every week they let American Idol run over into Fringe! I wish that some other network that was a little more respectful could have picked up Fringe! It is a great show, just a lousy disresectful network!

  27. Very glad to see this happen, its about time we had a show that makes me remember Tuesday night TV!

In the era of crime drama TV, its fantastic that something from the edge is having success, GO FOX! Very happy you are keeping the show.

  28. Best news I heard this week!! The show, the cast, the script, everything is just great about the show. Love Walter!! It’s better than X-file!

  29. I’m only 15 and usually I don’t like sci-fi shows but I love watching Fringe.
    Can’t wait for season two!

  30. YES! I’m so stoked to see Fringe is coming back for a second season. I was almost nervous to get excited about this new series because it seems more and more nowadays these types of series never make it very long. This is the closest I’ve gotten to something even resembling X-Files so I’m on board for season two. I just hope the writers can keep it interesting and keep it going so we get a third season as well. I agree, I want Walter to be in season two; he’s my 10 year old daughter’s favorite character. I really like Olivia (Anna Torv) though. It feels like all of the actors/characters have finally gotten into a groove and I’m diggin’ it. Thank you FOX!

  31. I am so hooked on this show it’s crazy. I’m so happy. GO FRINGE!!!

  32. I’m from Mexico. I love Fringe but before waiting anxiusly for season 2. I am looking forward to get all season 1 in DVD. Thanks for capture me in these terrific fand freak episodes. The best since my beloved Xfiles.

  33. FRINGE is Off the Hook! Off the Chain and all that!!!! Loved every episode, keep them coming! Go second season! I’m there!!! Thanks J.J.Abrams and your partners/crew for such a outstanding show! Keep going in the same direction, don’t change a thing!!!

  34. KUDOS too for the entire cast! THey rock! All of them!!!

  35. Brad, Mark and Mark

We all from Newfoundland, Canada and we think this show rocks. We never missed an episode yet, its like our own little get together, and we are so excited for the next episode and and can’t wait until the next season. Thanks Fox for the best show ever.
    Walter rocksssssss

  36. I am really glad me a my parents watch this every week together and we just can’t wait
    Thank You!!

  37. I can’t wait for the finale and I’m thrilled fox is going for the second season. This show is great keep up the good work fox.

  38. I am so happy this will have another season. I love watching this show. I may miss other shows I like, but this one I never miss. This is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. I spend half my time with my mouth hanging open while watching this show. I look forward to the season finale and season two and hopefully many, many more seasons.

  39. First, I love the fact that Fox is going into another season of Fringe as it is a sizzler! It is so fantastic to have something that is fun and refreshing SciFi. I believe it will be even more fantastic the second and further seasons. It will be an epic that will live forever.

Secondly, I have a feeling that the demographics are somewhat skewed because most people electronically lie about their age. I think that the truth be baby-boomers were also involved in promoting this thing but not putting their appropriate ages on viewing polls….any who really got this show promoted doesn’t matter what really matters is that Fox you are da bomb!

  40. I’m just starting to hear about this show and it sounds like I’d really like it. But since Season 1 is just about to end, I’m wondering if the entire season will be reaired before Season 2 starts? I want to watch it in order to fully appreciate it!

  41. I am so happy. This is a great show.

  42. Fringe reminds me of X-Files with a different twist, and I love that Olivia can kick butt and come to the rescue, not just be the damsel in distress in need of a man to save her. Walter steals the show with his hilarious antics, and his son Peter is smart and soooooooo eye candy. It has no language and sexual situations, so my kids can watch it, too. It’s so refreshing to have a thought-provoking, entertaining show that’s not embarrassing to watch as a family. Everything else on TV has everyone sleeping with everyone else and their poor choice of language shows lack of originality from the writers of these other shows. I am beyond stoked that it has been renewed!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

  43. Awesome!!! :D So excited for Season 2, hopefully we don’t have to wait too long….

  44. Fringe Season 2 coming to Vancouver BC

  45. best show since x files !!!

  46. guys do you know that people in Asia even watches this show!!

    Great news anyway

  47. Peter the Mailer

Fringe Season 2 yeah i love it.

    thx, Fox

  48. This makes me so happy. Although last nights episode will have me on the edge of my seat until Fall. So my question is Peter was sick as a young boy, last nights episoide showed he was dead at 7, did Peter die and then did Walter get him from the alternate universe and bring him over. And the world trade center bit was creepy…

  49. Showing the WTC went to far. I lived in NY and it still hurts. To bad you had to do that, it opened old wounds. There was no need for that, you had a strong following, now I am not so sure!

  50. Great Show — I am glad to hear that there will be a 2nd season… So far the writers have done a great job of keeping a common “pattern” of all the episodes and yet keeping each episode very interesting and able to stand on its own. Let’s hope they don’t get “Lost” as they move into this 2nd season and keep the plot interesting and believable. Great cast that really keeps the show moving. Definitely the best series on TV today….

  51. I agree with what C Turtle said about Fringe as compared to other network fare. Bravo to Fox for keeping a good show going, I don’t think it is the ratings smash Fox wanted but it has at least found a sizable niche audience yearning for a good show of this genre. And they stuck with it. Kudos to Fox.

  52. I absolutely love this show!! The entire cast is fabulous, however Walter being my favorite, and know on top of that having Leonard Nimoy portray William Bell is just icing on the cake. It doesn’t get better than this. Good luck and much success with next season.

  53. I’m so happy to hear the FRINGE is coming back for the next season. I’ve never been an avid watcher of any show except now. I was hooked the first time I watched it, even my 16 year old son as well. I don’t usually stay seated when watching TV, pretty much doing other things, but not when FRINGE is on! Walter is also my favorite! Thank you, FOX. FRINGE is the BEST!!!

  54. WOW!!! That is amazing. I’m pretty sure that Peter died when they died at that lake, Walter survived by the bowled man that helped him cross over to a different reality, took a Peter from there and never told him about that. That’s why Walter went to Peter’s grave. If I’m right, it would be so awwsom!

  55. Luv it…
All await the new eps in Norway!!!

  56. So people like Walter? Well there will probably be TWO Walters at some point because I don’t think the Walter from the OTHER reality will sit still forever for having his Son Peter taken from him by the Walter WE know. Also doesn’t there have to be TWO William Bells? The one who worked with Walter 20 years ago and has crossed over to the other reality and the William Bell who was already there? See what I mean about this show going off the rails? This other reality crap will be it’s undoing…

  57. John Noble should be awarded best new series Actor of the Year!! His performances are so powerful; on the season finale it was sheer genius, no pun intended.

Fringe is by far the best show on TV–after Lost of course.

  58. I love the show so much.. so happy its comming back!

  59. so tonight i am watching the all-star game and the camera pans thru the crowd……and there in his black suit is the mysterious bald guy.

    that leaves two possibilities:

1- its all real and some bad crap is about to happen at the game (remember obama
    is there)

2- its going to be footage in an upcoming episode
