About Sleepy Hollow
What if you suddenly woke up from the throes of death 250 years in the future to find the world is on the brink of destruction, caused by unimaginable events, and you are humanity's last hope? Welcome to Sleepy Hollow, the thrilling mystery-adventure drama from co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Star Trek" and "Transformers" franchises, "Fringe").
In this modern-day twist of Washington Irving's classic, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison, "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen") is resurrected and pulled two-and-a-half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers. Revived alongside Ichabod is the infamous Headless Horseman, who is on a murderous rampage in present-day Sleepy Hollow. Bound to the Headless Horseman by a blood-spell cast on the battlefield of the American Revolution, Ichabod quickly realizes that stopping Headless is just the beginning, as the resurrected rider is but the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
As this re-invented Ichabod finds himself in present-day Sleepy Hollow, he discovers a town and a world he no longer recognizes. All that is brutally familiar are Headless and Ichabod's determination to annihilate this immortal being. It's a mission he must complete quickly, as Headless already has viciously slain Sheriff August Corbin (guest star Clancy Brown, "Cowboys & Aliens," "Carnivale"). Grey served both as mentor and father figure to Detective Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie, "Shame," "American Violet"), a young cop whose own supernatural experiences help her form an unlikely bond with Ichabod. But Sleepy Hollow's head of police, Captain Frank Irving (Orlando Jones, "The Chicago 8," "Drumline"), isn't buying any of this.
In fact, the only person who is on Abbie's side is Ichabod. His extensive first-hand knowledge of our secret American history, coupled with her superior profiling and modern threat assessment skills, will make them a formidable duo as they work together to triumph over evil. The complex pasts of Ichabod and Abbie, from Ichabod's inclusion in the powerful and secretive Freemasons Society and the ghostly appearance of his late wife, Katrina (Katia Winter, "Dexter"), to Abbie's childhood visions, will help them solve the intricate puzzles of Sleepy Hollow to protect its future.
As history repeats itself, the oddly-linked pair will draw on the real stories and hallowed secrets this nation was founded on in their quest to stop an increasingly vicious cycle of evil.
The first season of Sleepy Hollow kicks off the tale of Ichabod Crane, who wakes up in the 21st century, finding his 18th-century nemesis, the Headless Horseman, right there with him. After the death of a local sheriff, Ichabod and Detective Abbie Mills team up to solve the mystery, all the while dealing with demons and visits by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
After Ichabod risks his life to rescue Abbie from Purgatory, the two face even greater danger as sinister forces in Sleepy Hollow gain momentum. With Katrina held captive by the Headless Horseman, and Frank Irving mysteriously back from the dead, Ichabod and Abbie must rely on instinct to know who to trust in their quest to permanently vanquish Moloch – and stop the apocalypse.
Lyndie Greenwood and John Noble join the main cast as Jennifer “Jenny” Mills and Henry Parrish, respectively.
Season 3 takes place nine months after Abbie and Ichabod parted ways, reuniting when Abbie, now an FBI agent, returns to Sleepy Hollow to release an imprisoned Ichabod. The two Witnesses face all-new dangers, including a demon who wills anyone with a dark secret, an undead army, and a horrifying beast with ties to Jenny Mills. But the arrival of a mysterious woman named Pandora brings the most terrifying threat of all. After she uses Abbie and Ichabod to resurrect “The Hidden One,” a seemingly invincible god, the fate of the world hangs in the balance, leading to the series’s most shocking climax so far.
Newcomers to the main cast this season include Nikki Reed as Betsy Ross, Zach Appelman as Joe Corbin, Lance Gross as Special Agent Daniel Reynolds, Jessica Camacho as Special Agent Sophie Foster, and Shannyn Sossamon as Pandora.
In Sleepy Hollow’s final season, Ichabod deals with the aftermath of the death of his partner and fellow Witness, Abbie. Following the climactic events of season 3, Ichabod was led out of town by a mysterious group promising to put him in charge of an evil-fighting organization created hundreds of years ago by none other than George Washington.
Ichabod now finds himself in an all-new city working with all-new allies, as he embarks on his most important mission yet: To save our nation’s capital from otherworldly threats that promise harm, not only to our country and our people, but to the soul of democracy itself.
Janina Gavankar joins the main cast as Agent Diana Thomas, in addition to Jerry MacKinnon as Jake Wells, Rachel Melvin as Alex Norwood, Oona Yaffe as Molly Thomas, and Jeremy Davies as Malcolm Dreyfuss.
