My son and my Grandfather (Bampi) are my cooking inspirations. I can’t begin to tell you how the thought of the two of them fills my heart and makes me strive to be better. I am who I am today because of the two of them.
I absolutely LOATHE mayonnaise, sour cream and cottage cheese. I can’t even look at them without feeling positively ill. My favorite guilty pleasure meal is Hot Shrimp, Crab Legs and Crab Fries from Chickie’s and Pete’s.
My favorite thing to cook is Sunday Gravy with meatballs, sausage, braciole and some macaroni, followed up by my famous red velvet cupcakes.
People beg me to bring my German Potato Salad, guacamole or any kind of baked dessert.
Sushi. I won’t ever eat it. The thought of eating raw fish makes me sick!
More than anything, I want to go on a food tour of Southern Italy, explore my roots and the cuisine behind it. I particularly want to go to Florence, Naples and Sicily.
I absolutely LOVE to cook to music and I am a HUGE Beatle-maniac. You will always find me jamming to the Beatles when I am cooking. My top three albums are: Revolver, Abbey Road, Meet the Beatles I could never choose just three songs!
My son begged me! Plain and simple. Knowing my mouth and temper, I would have NEVER tried out, but my son believed in me and I would NEVER let my son down.
My favorite comfort food was my grandmother’s Sunday Gravy and Meatballs and my Bampi’s macaroni and cheese and ratatouille. Sadly, my grandparents are no longer with me, so now my favorite comfort food is my mom’s stuffed cabbage, which we call “pigs in the blanket.”
