Ming-Na first won attention with her critically acclaimed performance as “June” in the feature film “The Joy Luck Club.” After four seasons as “Dr. Jing-Mei Chen” on “ER,” Ming-Na most recently starred in “Inconceivable.”
Born in Macau, China, Ming-Na was 6 years old when her family immigrated to New York City, where she fell in love with acting after her first stage experience in third grade.
Ming-Na received the first contract role for an Asian-American actor in the daytime drama “As the World Turns” as “Lien Hughes.” Other credits include “The George Lopez Show,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Single Guy” and “Street Fighter.”
Married and living in Los Angeles, Ming-Na formed Innovazian Records to produce and promote mainstream Asian-American music talent. Ming-Na has been included in People magazine’s list of the 50 Most Beautiful People, and was named one of the 100 Most Influential Asian Americans of the past decade by A magazine. |
