Submit Another StoryMy mom was babysitting a large group of neighborhood kids one afternoon, all of which were around my age (I think I was about 6). I decided we should play barbershop and then proceeded to cut off everyone's hair except my own. Once my mom saw the bad haircuts she thought it best to hack off mine as well, thinking the other parents would be less mad.
I took my kids to Chuckee Cheeses. I set the 3 yr old loose in the sky tubes & kept the 2 yr old w/ me. I waited. And waited for her to slide down at the exit. Nothing. 20 mins ltr I'm panicked. I hand the 2 yr old to a stranger & go up in the tubes. I run the course & she's not there. Now I've lost 2 kids. When I slide down, both are w/ the stranger crying. I'm the worst.
My daughter had an imaginary friend named Cindy who often visited our house to play dolls or eat lunch. One day my four-year-old told the sitter she was going next door to Cindy's house and left. I returned a few hours later and she was nowhere to be found. The neighborhood went on full alert, including the police, who found her at a park two miles away!
While at work one evening in a mental health hospital, I received a call from the Boise PD that I needed to return home regarding a problem with my 8 y.o. daughter. I rushed home to find two BPD cars, lights on, and my house full of men w/ guns. My daughter was enjoying the attention and the babysitter was not. She had called 911 when the sitter spanked her...
When I was a baby, my parents left me home with a sitter. At the time there was a hillside strangler on the loose. My parents snuck back into the house to get my mom's purse and quietly slipped out. The baby sitter heard the "intruder" and called the cops. Next thing you know, there were helicopters circling our neighborhood!
When I was 5 or 6, we had a neighbor babysit. She was so scary that I hid behind a sofa-sleeper that was too heavy for her to move. When my parents came home, I had fallen asleep back there with no dinner. I had probably been there from 4 pm Friday until about 3am Saturday. I still feel a sense of victory and I'm approaching forty.
On one of those days when I got stuck babysitting, I overheard my brother tell my sister she couldn't make it though the hole. I went to check on them and saw my sis wide-eyed. She had no eyebrows and her hair was singed. He had dared her to drop a match in a coke bottle that he had sprayed with WD-40!
Eldest of 4, It was Easter I was about 10. My parents were going out with family and hush hush asked me along so my brothers did not know. I slipped out and had a lovely evening at a club. I stayed the weekend at my nan's house. When i returned home my friends were keen to inform me that a massive search party was out for me. I thought the babysitter knew oops
My dad worked days and my stepmom worked nights, which meant free reign in the house. We would dress up our 5 year old brother in lingerie, stockings, and yes, heels. We took pictures to make him pay when he got older.
Uncle Barney was babysitting us. We heard noises outside and he said there was a one-eyed monster on the loose and, if it looked at you, you'd turn to stone. He said he had to go out to get it. We begged him not to. He told us, "No matter what, don't look out the window." He screamed and I peeked out the window and he shined a flashlight in my eyes, scaring me to death!
