Sabrina, the cashier at Howdy's Market, bumps into Jimmy when he's taking his belongings to the local pawnshop to trade his stuff for a car seat. A smitten Jimmy begins to think of excuses to talk to her, and finds out that her cousin Shelley runs a daycare center. When Shelley gets a little too aggressive, Sabrina comes to Jimmy's rescue, but to his dismay he finds out that she has a boyfriend, Wyatt.
Sabrina later reveals to Jimmy that she's working on a short story called "The Elephant in the Room" about a family full of emotionless zombies. Although her dad does not support her creative endeavors, Jimmy encourages her to follow her dreams.
Jimmy is hopeful their relationship may blossom into more than just friends when Sabrina comes over to make Shrinky Dinks. But after looking at his family photos she advises him not to show them to any girl he's interested in romantically.
When Wyatt can't make it to a Halloween party, Jimmy takes Sabrina to the shindig dressed as Batman to her Robin. But then her boyfriend shows up as the superhero, and a drunk Sabrina kisses Jimmy, thinking he's Wyatt.
Later, Jimmy brings Sabrina to Wyatt's frat party. They discover that he's cheating, but Jimmy reunites the couple to save them all from Wyatt's love-crazed game of chicken.
When Jimmy flashes back to his 18th birthday five years earlier, it's revealed that Sabrina, then a young braces-clad, college-bound girl, had a crush on a Goth kid named Drakkar Noir. He had his face painted white and his hair dyed black to match his clothing. She has no idea that it was Jimmy under the make-up.
