Chapter 622

Reese pays the price when he enlists in multiple medical drug tests at a local university.

Malcolm is picked to replace newly fired Uncle Sam stilt-walker at the Lucky Aide. When a stilt-walking brawl erupts between him and the disgruntled employee, Malcolm tries to make amends with him by getting him a new job that he would really enjoy: at a circus, but as their accountant.

Hal accidentally calls a phone sex line and forgets to hang up the phone incurring a $400 charge. When he calls to try to have it removed he only racks the bill up even further. When he can’t hide his mistake any longer he decides to buy Lois a pair of expensive shoes that she previously bought but he made her return to make up for it. He goes to the Lucky Aide and presents them to her admitting the phone sex charge was his and she admits that she broke his Chicago Hope commemorative coffee mug escalating the into a huge shouting match in the middle of the Lucky Aide.

When Jamie appears with dusty pearl necklace, Dewey thinks Jamie has discovered “the stash”, some of Lois’ favorite possessions that Francis hid years ago as revenge for sticking him in military school. Dewey bribes Jamie into showing him where it’s hidden because whoever returns the stash to Lois gets a reward and total amnesty. After buying Jamie a toy pony, Dewey follows him to discover that he is actually sneaking into their neighbor’s house and stealing from them.
