Chapter 620

When Hal inadvertently becomes the star of his weekend motivational seminar, they enlist him to play the role of leader for the next eight weekends. He successfully motivates a number of attendees, including a man who keeps turning down a promotion because he doesn’t believe in himself. The man turns out to be Hal’s new boss, who vows to work Hal and his department harder than ever.

When Dewey is caught with another mother, Lois is hurt. To make it up to her, Dewey pawns his prized possessions, such as his keyboard and bike, in order to tattoo his chest with “My Mother Is Lois.” Although Lois is angry, she is deeply touched. Yet she still takes Dewey to the hospital to get it removed.

Reese befriends a pack of dogs that runs through the neighborhood. Malcolm tries to dissuade him, but Reese is convinced that the dogs are his friends. Reese hears howling in the distance and is convinced that the dogs need him. He comes back later with the news that the dogs have promoted him to be their leader. Later, a cop brings Reese home and explains that the dogs broke into a chicken coop and had themselves a little party. Reese was among them. He sadly tells Malcolm that he barely got away while the dogs were rounded up by the pound and neutered.
