As it turns out, Mom has a half sister. Weird when you find out your parents cheated on each other 40 years later. It’s like a fun science experiment and Mom is the variable.

We finally arrived and it was like the twilight zone. Everyone was nice. Everyone was funny. Everyone was cool. It’s simply not normal. Even their mom – my aunt – stays out of their business and gives them autonomy. I’m planning my escape now.

Everything was going great. Mom and I were even getting along. That was until Grandma showed up to ruin everything. I guess she knew about Grandpa Victor’s infidelity and was coming to set the record straight. This should be fun.

So my cousin is the coolest. He has a hot girlfriend, popular friends, and doesn’t take shots at other people’s expense. He’s a much better version of me!

Something has to give. It always does. There has to be a flaw or we have to be able to mess this up somehow right. I mean, misery loves company doesn’t it? Well, their family was perfect, ours turns out to be even worse than before. Through this whole ordeal, Mom found out that Grandma cheated on Grandpa too and that Grandpa was someone we never even met.

It also means that I’m not related to these people in any way and it all makes sense now that part of our family is perfect. They simply aren’t family.
