Emily is Cal and Zoe's precocious 16-year-old daughter who splits her time between her two parents' homes. Lightman is protective of Emily, though she sometimes becomes exposed to the Lightman Group's cases. She knows some of her dad's techniques for reading people, and can often read what her dad is really feeling.
Hayley McFarland began acting at age six in local productions of "Gypsy," "The Sound of Music" and "Annie." After signing with a manager at 12 years old, she went on to appear in several commercials and a small independent film. Her big break came when she landed a two-episode arc on "Gilmore Girls" and a featured role in the feature "An American Crime" opposite Ellen Page and Catherine Keener.
She had a recurring role on the first season of the cable series "The United States of Tara." Her resume also includes guest appearances on 24, "ER," "Without a Trace" and "Criminal Minds." She co-starred opposite Forest Whitaker, Dakota Fanning and Jennifer Hudson in the feature "Fragments."
Originally from Oklahoma City, McFarland recently moved with her family to Los Angeles.
