Chef Gordon Ramsay takes on Bazzini Cafe, an Italian restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ, that struggles with slow service, poorly crafted dishes, a lackluster sous chef and a disappointing head chef.

Paul and his wife Leslie wanted a simple not glamorous place which was supposed to be an extension of their home. Paul expected a few years of struggling and they knew that Leslie, who is a financial headhunter would be able to support the family. Leslie says that she is not resentful toward Paul, only towards the restaurant which has put a strain on all the things she would like to do including saving for her kids college and the future. There are also a lot of other restaurants in the vicinity and they get lost in the shuffle. Chef Ramsay will have to restore Paul's passion and implement new fresh ideas.

Even after Ramsay's suggested fixes, the environment in the kitchen is mayhem, forcing Chef Ramsay take charge during prime dining hours while Head Chef Paul Bazzini takes a backseat.
