"Livin’
on Reds, Vitamin C and Propane"
Episode KH719
Original Airdate: 12/07/03
Hank decides to build a trophy shelf in Bobby’s room to spruce
it up, after registering his house in the Arlen Parade of Homes. When
he inadvertently hits a pipe and causes a leak in Bobby’s room,
his insurance company comes out for an estimate and also offers him
a free mold inspection.
The mold inspection leads to the discovery that Bobby’s room
is filled with mold and must be completely dried out. During the dry
out they test the air in the rest of the house and discover that the
mold has spread rendering the house uninhabitable.
The Hills are then forced to double bag their belongings and move
into a hotel, much to Hank’s humiliation. Hank reaches his breaking
point when the Parade of Homes people come by and his house is being
ripped apart. When his attempts to get the insurance people and contractors
to leave his house alone, he discovers that there is no mold and they
have been scamming him and working together all along.
Eventually Hank conceives a plan to end their scheme by getting his
own contractor’s license and threatening the insurance adjuster
with a mold inspection of his own home
