"Man
without a country club"
Episode KH611
Original Airdate: 4/14/02
Hank and the guys are swept up by golf fever when a pro golf tour
comes to Arlen to play at the exclusive, primarily Asian, Nine Rivers
Country Club. They become so obsessed with golf that they create a
putting green in Hank's backyard. Kahn, who has been dying to get
into the club, gloats about the beauty of the 14th hole at the club
and how his friend Ted will get him in. The guys are inspired to connect
their backyards to create their own 14th hole, with Kahn's backyard
serving as the sand trap.
Kahn invites Ted, a member of the country club, over for dinner in
the hopes of wining and dining a membership out of him. Ted is concerned
that his club is viewed as racist because all the members are Asian.
If they do not diversify, they will lose the PGA tournament. Ted proposes
that if Kahn can get Hank, the token "white guy," to join,
Kahn will also be invited. Kahn then invites Hank to the club to play
golf, and Hank is offered a free membership, but Kahn is rejected.
Hank is tempted to accept the offer until he learns his buddies invited
Kahn to join their own made-up country club. Hank feels left out,
and for the first time, he understands how Kahn feels.
