During a class field trip to Mexico, Peggy unwittingly smuggles an illegal back into Texas. Guest voice: Kathy Bates

Peggy substitutes for a Spanish class and is delighted to learn that she'll be accompanying them on their upcoming field trip to Mexico. Hank worries that Peggy's Spanish is not muy buen, but Peggy thinks that's just plain loco. Once in Mexico, Peggy ignores the planned itinerary and promptly gets the busload of students lost. She takes them to a carniceria, thinking that it's a carnival. In fact, it's a butcher shop. None-the-less, the students have a great time and she hurries them back on the bus for the trip home. Back in Arlen, Peggy realizes one of the students is actually a Mexican girl named Lupe. Horrified by her mistake, Peggy plans to smuggle Lupe back into Mexico.

Meanwhile, Hank has been pulled over by a comely cop (guest voice Kathy Bates) who soon develops a crush on the law-abiding dreamboat. She misunderstands Hank's friendliness and gives him her phone number. Plus, she keeps dropping by the house. With Lupe in the utility closet, and the cop circling the block, Peggy hastily puts her plan in motion. She drives Lupe back to her Mexican village and is promptly arrested for kidnapping.

Thinking she is being honored for returning Lupe, Peggy calls Hank with the good news. However, when she is shackled and taken away, she realizes she's in trouble. Her lawyer wants to prove that Peggy's Spanish is so bad that there is no way she masterminded a kidnapping plot. Peggy is offended and Hank suggests she testify in her own words - which will clearly show how non-fluent she is. It works and Peggy is found not guilty.
