Prior to my 30th Birthday I realized that I wanted to do something that made me happy and that I was passionate about, so I enrolled in culinary school. I'd been living my life for others and wanted to do something that would give me joy!
I wanted to be a contestant on HELL’S KITCHEN because I wanted the challenge and to prove to myself that I was resilient and could handle anything that came my way. I also really wanted to grow my knowledge and have an experience of a lifetime.
I enjoyed learning and growing as a chef and person, winning challenges and getting rewarded for our hard work was very memorable.
Chef Ramsay taught me so many lessons. Not just about how to properly sear a duck breast but more importantly how to overcome challenges and persevere. He taught me that being passionate and hardworking are valuable characteristics.
My favorite dish to cook is anything healthy. I love pan seared Chilean sea bass with fresh vegetables and a delicious puree (any root vegetable will do).
My own personal cooking style is a little different than that of the normal HELL’S KITCHEN menu. I don't use butter or fry anything!
It's never too late to follow your dreams, if you have the passion and drive you can do anything. When it comes to being a chef, your food is your masterpiece, you are the artist. Express yourself and don't ever give up. Be ready to work hard!
