The complicated quickstep can make even the most adept dancers lose their footing. Classically graceful, like the more traditional Foxtrot, the quickstep also has a playful energy. The rapid-fire footwork of the ballroom dance combines elements of the one-step, foxtrot, shag, Charleston, and Peabody. During Week 5 of Season 4 of "So You Think You Can Dance," Jessica King and William Wingfield danced a quickstep to "Bandstand Boogie" by Barry Manilow, which was choreographed by Tony Meredith, with Melanie LaPatin assisting. Following that number and their contemporary routine that evening, Jessica King withdrew from the competition due to an injury to her ribs.
