The paso doble, or double step, is a highly dramatic Latin style dance that reflects the tradition of bullfighting. The leader represents the bullfighter, while the follower symbolizes the bull. The heavily choreographed routine is almost always performed in competitive circles and is rarely danced in social settings. The male performer often stamps his feet as a toreador would to attract a bull's attention. Meanwhile, the woman often wears a long, flowing skirt to symbolize the bullfighter's cape. Despite the inherently Latin theme, the dance was actually created in France. In Season 3 of "So You Think You Can Dance," Sara Von Gillern and Jesus Solorio danced the paso doble to "We Will Rock You" by Queen.
