Created by Perez Prado at the Tropicana nightclub in Havana, Cuba in 1943, this Latin dance was born out of the fusion of Cuban and jazz music. Known for its complex footwork, the mambo is similar to the salsa, but it's considered to be much more difficult to perfect. During the Season 2 finale of "So You Think You Can Dance," Benji Schwimmer chose to reprise the Mambo he had performed earlier in the season with his cousin and partner, Heidi Groskreutz. They danced to "Black Mambo" by Angel and the Mambokats, and Benji took home the "So You Think You Can Dance" title that night
