This sub-genre is the most popular, and only real survivor, of the disco dances. In current dance circles it mainly exists as a competition partner dance, but in its heyday it was both a couples and a line dance. Many variations of the style evolved, including rope hustle, sling hustle, Latin hustle, Spanish hustle, tango hustle, Continental hustle, and New York hustle. The latter is the style that's currently performed in most competitive environments. While disco appears with regularity on "So You Think You Can Dance," the hustle has only been seen a few times. The most memorable performance came in Season 3, when Lacey Schwimmer and Kameron Bink danced to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" in a Maria Torres routine.
