This eclectic style mixes traditional African dance with pop influences from modern styles, including hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary. On Season 2 of "So You Think You Can Dance," Top 4 finishers Travis Wall and Heidi Groskreutz danced an Afro-pop routine choreographed by Wade Robson. Dressed in tribal paint and trailing blue "Lion King"-esque scarves, they danced to "W'Happy Mama," by the Afro-pop group Zap Mama. The pair never missed a single synchronized, syncopated dance move. The judges praised Robson for his out-of-the-box choreography and named the routine the best of the night.
