Melissa performed a Broadway routine and the Quickstep with Evan, a solo in her own style, and a superhero routine with the girls. Nigel told Melissa that she has inspired many ballerinas to audition for Season 6, but none of them are as versatile as she is.

Top 8 - 07 / 22 / 09

Melissa reunited with Ade to dance the Cha Cha and an emotional contemporary routine. She also danced a solo and a group number. Mia said Melissa's an angel, and Nigel said that it was Melissa's maturity that allowed her to pull off the contemporary piece.

Top 10 - 07 / 15 / 09

Melissa danced a Broadway routine with Brandon, a solo, and a Bollywood routine. The judges thought she danced unbelievably well.

Top 12 - 07 / 08 / 09

Melissa performed a disco routine and the waltz with her partner, Ade. Mary thought Melissa was "flawless, beautiful, and mesmerizing," and Tyce said there's nothing this ballerina can't do!

Top 14 - 07 / 01 / 09

Ballerina Melissa got to perform a classical pas de deux with Ade. Mia called Melissa "Brilliant; a true ballerina."

Top 16 - 06 / 24 / 09

Melissa danced a Rumba routine with her partner, Ade. Mary thought Melissa was unbelievable and mastered her spins.

Top 18 - 06 / 17 / 09

Melissa performed a strong jazz routine with Ade. Nigel said that Melissa "did everything that Ade did, and equaled his strength."

Top 20 - 06 / 10 / 09

Melissa danced a contemporary routine with her partner, Ade. The moving number had Adam choked up, and he said that Melissa is "living proof that you get better with age."

Las Vegas - 6 / 04 / 09

Ballerina Melissa Sandvig soared through the air and into the finals. Judge Adam Shankman said that it will be fun to watch Melissa grow as a dancer.

Performing "Le Coure Illumine" on the Dorothy Chandler stage live for television.

I can do more than ballet!!! I have learned that stamina, focus, and the "it" factor are musts.
What are your favorite dance moments from movies, TV and/or stage?
From the movies: "The Turning Point" and from ballets: "Gisele," "Romeo & Juliet," and "Who Cares."
Which choreographers would you like to work with?
I would love to work with Mia Michaels because I know I would be pushed beyond my ability and comfort zone.

Sandvig has been dancing for most of her life. She has danced with the Milwaukee Ballet Company, LA Opera, Long Beach Ballet and Helios Dance Theater. A highlight for Sandvig was performing "Le Coeur Illumine" at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
